Is there somewhere I can be directed where you can learn how to mod (just simple stuff like the no timeline mod and changing national provinces)? I'd like to do some of this stuff to my game, but have NO CLUE on how to do it. I have absolutely no idea how to get started, where to go, how to even backup. I'm not a computer illiterate, I'm just not familiar with this stuff, and would love to learn some of this simple stuff.

The HOI2-wiki has some good information:
http://hoi2.nsen.ch/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

It doesn't have any tutorials for what I want to do. All I want to do is remove the time limit and not make Pakistan, India, and Burma national provinces so they can be liberated. But as I stated before, I am a completly clueless when it comes to modding.
One question on making a backup, would one way of making a backup of a file is to make a copy of the folder the file you are modding is located in, and placing the copy on your desktop (to make it easy to find)?

pakistan i am sure can be released by the uk any way but india and the other 2 cannot but i dont think you can release as the uk i am not sure why but you can release them when the lands are conquered by another nation

to remove the time limit install the ntlm to the hoi.exe and then go to the eug file and change the end date to when ever but also scroll down there is another start/end date that needs to be changed there for the time line to be extended

when ppl say a back up i usually make a file called backup place it on my desktop and copy all the hoi2 files plus a copy of each patch and then if i need any thing i just look there and i also keep any mods i am making in there just in case i mess it up i can revert to them as well hope some of this helps

So you don't backup just one file or folder but all of them?
