Good questions. My suspicion is that deep down paradox doesn't want people to be able to mod the map to much. If you can do that you can create whole new games quickly and easily . I don't think their maps have really been moddable for more than changing a country name and it's province make up. The actual blob of the province I think always stays the same.

But then I have a hard time finding mods for this game because I don't want to register and see the "secret" forums or whatever.

If it took Paradox months and a bunch of people to create a game I wouldnt call it quick and easy :)
And you still need the game itself to run the mods. So I mean, people need to buy the actual game to run the mod so..

Anyway, I remember something about people editing out PTI from EU3..

Seeing that there is alot of "permanent terra inc." , what are the possibilities to mod these away?
Since Rome is using the same engine as EU3. Any success in modding the EU3 map?

You can mod the map in EU3, in fact there was a mod that removed all of the permanent terra incognita there. So yes, you should be able to.

Super. Do you know anything about if it is also possible to do with the Rome engine?
And how exactly was this done? Is it simple like editing event, or does it require more art-work?

I haven't tried, but I assume the process is similar. I believe you will need to edit the provinces you want into the files under the map directory. You can probably find modders to tell you about the details in the modding forum.

In the meantime, try consulting this EU3 example: http://www.paradoxian.org/eu3wiki/Modding_the_map

Hmmm well this is good news. This game needs less TC and more factions pretty badly. Poor Numidia.. half it's country isn't even visible. How can someone win as Numidia without the mighty Gaetoli?
