Why do all Chaos players take a hit if they haven't been to war in some time? I understand it for worshipers of Khorne but not for the others.

Hello Everyone!

First I would just like to say that I think this is an amazing mod, and that I really love all the work you guys have put into it.

Second, is Neferata supposed to be 39 years old ? :p

CK2game 2015-04-03 13-41-18-94.jpg

Else, its amazing and I will start testing the mod today to see how the AI will behave with the new mechanics, will post a screenshot at the 50 year mark, 100 year mark and maybe further.

And then I found this little girl. Genevieve, don't I know you from somewhere? :) If shes the one I think she is, then fantastic work guys :D

Probably due to the fact that all gods desire the hostile spread of their ideals, but perhaps some less than others. Tzeench, Nurgle, Khorne and Slaneesh all desire that Change is made, Papa's gifts are given, Blood is spilled and debauchery widespread respectively.

To be honest I can only think it's worthwhile for Khorne to have that.

i think there are some circumstances like a Sigmar worshipping elf which could happen.
In previous version, all of Loren converted to Ulric, i don't have the slightest idea why. In next few years there were lots of elven witch hunters out there.

Why do all Chaos players take a hit if they haven't been to war in some time? I understand it for worshipers of Khorne but not for the others.
In case of north it's the cultural thing, Norscans, Kurgans and Hungs are violent warlike tribes even without chaos gods. In case of cultist it's the mechanics, as prestige hit for peace is tied to religion.

Oh, and just had this, Fay Enchantress Morgiana declared crusades in the name of the Christianity. As HIS holiness:

At least we have JonStryker to thank for even HAVING crusades in the mod, we shouldn't nitpick :D

And there's some good upcoming news, speaking of Lahmians.. gonna post a dev diary part one in a bit.

And no, she s not supposed to be 39 obviously, but it was a placeholder solution so she wouldn't get the old age portrait.

I can reveal that Silfae has worked some of his portrait magic on vampire portraits too... so it won't be necessary anymore.

Lahmian Update, part one:

So, we have our lovely Neferata, sitting up in the Silver Peaks. I thought it was a shame that she really didn't have much to *do* up there, and Lahmians sound like a fun group, so I've taken some steps to remedy that:

The Sisterhood is supposed to be this very subtle organization working to reclaim ancient Lahmia from the Tomb Kings, manipulating the realms of men to serve towards that purpose. So, she has 3 daughters at present, and we'll take the first few steps to reclaiming our ancient homeland. For Lahmians, beauty traits and intrigue skills are the most important, so I'll make my most beautiful and .. ehh... intrigante? .... daughter my special agent.

Since recruitment missions are the least risky, I'll send my least skilled daughter on one of those:

She will scour the land, looking for beautiful and high intrigue women between the ages of 16-25 to turn into my vampire spawn, and join the family. If they join (success is based on the agent's intrigue and beauty, like most of these lahmian intrigue events are), the husband/close relatives are informed that she has run away, and the new vampire gets a disinherited trait.

But yes, we were about to restore the glories of ancient Lahmia. The Queen herself will go on a mission to get some funds and troops to her lonely hide-out up in Silverpeaks.

We have a mark, this one is a king and a hedonist. Sounds perfect!

While I'm busy there, I'll send one of my daughters on a similar mission (you can send any female vampire of your dynasty on these missions)

Ohhh, nice, my recruiting daughter has succeeded. I'll put her get to good use immediately...

Meanwhile I arrive:

Each year that you stay "on-mission", you or your daugthers get this event, and you can ask for either gold or troops. The higher tier of your mark, and the higher score of your seduction_progress variable (which increases over time, at a speed determined by your beauty and intrigue) the mroe troops and/or gold you will get.

He accepts, of course, helping out his "dear friend" the "rich heiress" in her time of need. He can also refuse of course, if you are not as skilled as Neferata herself:

And my dear daughter has succeded too!

(These events come yearly, and there will of course be risks associated with being "on mission" - one tiny slip, and the Witch Hunters will be on your trail)...

Part Two to come shortly.

Why do all Chaos players take a hit if they haven't been to war in some time? I understand it for worshipers of Khorne but not for the others.
Because even though Khorne is the most warlike, all chaos gods are warlike. All gods demand their followers expand their influence through warfare. Either against the soft lands of the south, or the followers of other gods.

Who is this Christian? and where is Albion btw?
Like Jon said, the crusade event will be fixed soon. In 2010 no one in the Old World, Ulthuan, Naggaroth, or Lustria even knows that Albion exists. So Albion effectively doesn't exist in 2010.

The portrait mods were causing a lot of CTDs, so we've removed them until they are fixed. As for Norse amazons, that's working as designed. The amazons are descended from norscan explorers in warhammer. ;)
There appears to be a warmer climate down there, for how long have the norscan amazons been there? Because sooner or later, I'm sure they won't be as pale and fair as they originally were.

Part two of the Lahmian preview:

My new daughter turned out to not be quite successful.. I have her killed to set an example to the rest. The Sisterhood has high standards, failure is not an option.

The troops have arrived, generally in increments of 35 or so.. since it's a king tier, and the seduction progress has just begun. The trickle can greatly increase, however, the more agents you send out and the better they are.

But now for the second part of the system. Lahmians are known infiltrators, but they do not just manipulate the rulers, their presence can be felt in entire provinces. You can (localisation pending, apparently!) establish a Lahmian presence for 100 gold in a province:

It'll be described as a "secret cabal", which can be used for other non vampire purposes too. Which hunters do not immediately get called and the ruler does not get informed of this - he suspects something is wrong, but since Lahmians are so careful, it is random whether or not a witch hunter gets on their trail.

These holdings give income:

As do your agents on missions...

But there is always a risk. Witch Hunters CAN discover your secret hide-outs, and that's why you need to assign some Lahmian Protectors to get rid of snooping Witch Hunters before they alarm the authorities. Any courtier with martial of 10 or above can become a Lahmian protector. How it works is, if a witch hunter randomly finds a holding, he will get a duel event triggered with a random lahmian protector - therefore it s best to make these protectors vampires, and even give them some magical weapons. If the witch hunters lives, or even escapes, he will alert the temple and the holding wil be destroyed.

Lahmians as mentioned can also seduce anyone with the human trait, using normal WoL seduction mechanics. So far there is one great catch to this: If your lover is unlanded, you can actually attempt to invite him to your court (again, depending on his traits and his parents tier, your traits, and your intrigue). He will become Vampiric Religion and a loyal minion, and disinherited naturally - but the catch is, he keeps his claims ;) So if you wanted to install a Lahmian puppet to rule over Kislev - incidentally perhaps, after making him your vampire son so you can call on him in wars - that would probably be a good idea!

Future plans for Lahmians include:

-Generic flavor events, and witch hunters tracking you down and fighting duels with you when on missions
-A Lahmian Feast event
-Sending you Lahmian Protectors on offensive missions, to hunt down the most dangerous witch hunters (those with the highest learning)
-A "Lahmian Terror" variable; the more of your schemes/holdings are uncovered, the more the temples will begin to fear Lahmian infiltrations, and eventually make an armed prepared invasion against you. The counter goes down over time, but if it reachs a high level, these invasion events are triggered, and the counter is reset if you lose. If you win, the counter remains high, and another invasion may follow. It may therefore become necessary at some point to give up Silver Peaks, let the temples sack it, and start over elsewhere.
-A questline to reclaim the Kingdom of Lahmia from the Tomb Kings. Claims wil be given via a decision for money/prestige that might also involve volunteers showing up like a prepared invasion mechanic, but when you attack, all the tomb kings will join their brethren to resist you.

There appears to be a warmer climate down there, for how long have the norscan amazons been there? Because sooner or later, I'm sure they won't be as pale and fair as they originally were.
No, they would be just as fair genetically - they'd just get tanned.

Yeah, the norscans have only been in Lustria since 888, and it's only 2010 now.
