When the event fired for recovery from being widowed (getting rid of Depressed and Widowed traits), it instead caused me to become known as the 2nd Duke of Moray. I assume this was not your intent.

I took a quick glance at the window chain and didn't see any blatant errors in the code. I don't have the time to run a validator pass right now but I will later on. DO you remember what the event said (so I can pinpoint exactly where the error happened)?

The game runs fine most of the times, but when after the war many earldoms and dukedoms are gone, and many barons are vassals of the King, the game still slows down every 20 days or so. I first thought it had to do with the baron naming system, but when using the workaround to disable this, the game still slows down. Any reason why it happens?

Is it a slight pause every 20 days? If it is, it is most likely because the computer is checking character events (I did not experience this slowdown). My experiences in the playthroughs I did saw earldoms handed out the war victor's supports rather quickly as well. Not sure what effect the lack of earls would have on game speed.

Sometimes, and sometimes the game is painstakingly slow.

But the slowdown does disappear if another mega war occurs. If it doesn't, the slowdown stays.

I am not able to duplicate this at all so far. Could you tell me what your computer specs are? Not all the fine details, just broad strokes. Same for anyone else who is experience slowdowns. I need to determine if it is code based or computer based. Also, how many years into the game are you when this happens?

I have a Macbook Pro 2.5 Ghz Intel Core i5 with 4GB. Usually the slowdown happens after 2,3 years of war. The slowdown already happens during the war, but gets worse after the war. If the war is over quick, let's say within a year and when most of the earl and dukes are still alive, no slowdown at all happens.

Interesting. The last play-through I did almost all the peers had left young children or had their lines die out during a 3 year war and it didn't seem to affect it. I also let it run for several years after the war and did not see a slowdown. I'm running 16g ram so that will tilt my perspective a bit (and I haven't touched a mac in a decade at least - so not sure on performance differences).

I would really appreciate more feedback from anyone else experiencing this sort of slowdown.

Could it have something to do with the naming system of the Earls and Dukes?

Just ran that situation again following a reinstall. The event flavor text says "As time slips by, I feel old wounds healing. I can look back now on the cherished memories, and not be absorbed in the painful ones." Then my choice says "I am ready to move on with my life," and the depressed and widowed trait icons are there. But the tooltip says, "Will be known as "2nd Duke of Moray," and that's exactly what happens when I click. I also don't lose the traits.

Are there any characters you'd recommend the most among the list of interesting characters ?

Depends on what type of game you are interested in (Duke/Earl/Lower Noble).

Only one of the Dukes, apart from Cornwall and York, starts with a potential claim to the throne (IIRC) and that would be Somerset.

There are a lot of potential claimants as Earls. Northumberland and Westmorland are rivals in the north which makes for an interesting start.

Hastings is a fun one for lower nobility. He starts with land in several locations which opens up earldom possibilities across the kingdom.

Soon I plan on posting a FAQ/Primer with fun starts and general game info so people don't have to scroll through the many pages.

Very nice mod,but needs more thing to do as small rulers.

Indeed that is part of the immersion update. I will also be opening a lot of the events of the other tiers for province level tiers as well. Though, I haven't decided which ones specifically to open up yet.

One thing I want to emphasize to everyone is that plotting happens much much faster now, so using plots in your free time is would be a good idea :)

***IMPORTANT HOTFIX***

I must have been distracted when I was coding the duke handout events, because I used the earl of bedford as a template but stopped 1/2 way through. So whenever the AI was trying to give out Dukedoms it instead handed out the earldom of bedford  Put this file in the events folder and overwrite the one there.
