New download links are up. A lot of changes. File size is significantly bigger due to a CoA system I am testing. It isn't done, but I still think random CoAs look better than vanilla (and should have realistic colors).

There is a specific event I am testing in this update. If you win a claimant war for England you get a new interesting event (works for attackers, hopefully working for defenders). You get the choice as to what you want to do with the nobles you defeated and have imprisoned. This is just the begging of a system I am working on. You have 4 choices: Full pardon, take all land + execute, take all land and + release, execute but keep land in family. If you pardon them they SHOULD get a modifier to force them to be loyal.

Scottish families did not make the cut for this update - ai system for earls created some issues I wasn't anticipating, but fixed eventually.

This coming week I will be busy IRL. Probably won't get much work done on major features and instead will focus on smaller things like dynasty updates and little tweaks. If there are any major bugs I will take care of them as well.

There were changes to the map files so make sure you delete the cache.

I know it adds nothing to gameplay, but I love the new loading screen!

Having jumped around to control that new event (I was wondering how you'd implement attainders), it looks okay- but it it exhausting going through every rebellious vassal is an exhausting clickfest- is it possible to code it so that it only applies to Earls and Dukes (and their families)? because going through every baron is a pain in the arse.

Can we (by which I mean you;)) reduce the likelihood of Somerset revolting- I mean historically he was firmly in the Lancastrian camp, and close to the Queen (who effectively ruled). In my mind at least, he should be substantially less likely to claim the throne than York. As for achieving this, I dunno, removing/weakening his claim on England (which he would regain on Henry's death as second-in-line after Prince Edward) or adding some special modifier betwixt him and the king.

Some further stuff regarding rebellions, mainly minor quibbles- playing as Richard of York, I was unable to marry my daughter (Elizabeth?) off while 'holding a titular title' (this wasn't to an enemy or anything, just one of my fellow revolters/temporary vassals), is this a vanilla thing?

Finally, the leaders of Claimant revolts probably shouldn't be the Baron of Nowheresville, particularly if their faction includes Earls, Dukes, and the guy whose claim is being pressed. Again, I have no particular ideas on achieving this (I'm not very constructive).

This can be done by putting a higher_tier_than = count (mod Baron is count tier) line in the potential section of faction_claimant in common/objectives/00_factions.txt

Claimant factions should only be lead by people with strong claims. Are random people getting strong claims again? In my testing I only saw the claimants starting factions for themselves. My intention is to have the claimant only lead the factions. But if another stupid claim bug reared its head and a bunch of random people are getting strong claims it will screw it up. Let me know if this is the case so I can hotfix it.

As for the new event that handles attainders, it is definitely in its infancy and I have plans to expand it quite some bit. I kind of thought the same thing as far as click fest goes. My initial urge is to restrict it to baron-duke (count-king) and see how that goes. Maybe automatically do an automatic full attainder for low nobility via a hidden event - I could send a notification event tell the player it happened?

I *think* that once I get historic traits lined up, maybe that is what I will do this week, proper alliances with fall in line. If not then I will hard code the historical alliances to start the game.

I *think* that marriage issue is part of the vanilla system, but I am not sure. Were you able to marry normally after the revolt was done?

On another note - I am pretty sure I am going to remove manor and castle from the localisation for the actual holding titles. I am really tired of seeing "of X manor" as a dynasty name. I added hundreds of random english last names to use but unfortunately it likes to still generate the dumb of X names.

:D

In case you haven't already started, would you like for me to help create the consort nicknames (eg. Duchess of <X>) and the nicknames for barons?

Also, BUG REPORT:

The daughters of barons are incorrectly being given the minor title 'lady'.

Do mean the nicknames for the queen consort? And the naming scheme for barons like "8th baron X"?

To add the naming system for barons would be INCREDIBLY time consuming. Just to give an example: I would need basically at LEAST 20 events each for 466 baronies in England a lone.

Ah, well maybe I'll just do the consort naming scheme then. :)

Though, if Gars takes my suggestion I recently posted in the 'improved modability thread', then this would be a WHOLE lot easier. But, it would be too good to be true. :(

Yea. To be honest I would love to have the barons with a naming scheme but there is just no way I can justify spending that much time doing it. I tremble at the thought of having to do them for England, Ireland, Scotland, and France.

teach me how to do it and ill do it a bit at a time, might take a while but ill get it done eventually

Personally, I would skip the whole 1st, 2nd, 3rd ... 19th, 20th naming system and just stick with the title itself. (Eg. His Grace, Robert, Duke of Suffolk)

However, I did post a suggestion in the improved modability thread to make it so that we can change the localisation itself, rather than spending hours creating these nicknames. (I would appreciate it if someone would +1 the suggestion. :))

I can't do that to you mika1369. Not to doubt your drive or desire, but having personally done the dukes and earls of England already, I can honestly say that it is the most mind numbingly boring job I have ever done. I feel like it would go highly unnoticed. For example, as the game goes on there will be earls and dukes full bore and barons will become veiled. Most of the work would never see the light of day.

I think you'd be losing some period flavor (at least from an English perspective) if you do that. I'd much rather see someone named (just making one up) Richard, 3rd Duke of Norfolk instead of something like Richard II, Duke of Norfolk. Dukes are not numbered by their names but by order of title-holder.

The problem though, is that it takes a lot of time for MJ to make those titles. Each 1st-20th is a separate nickname for each separate title. Skipping that would make doing the naming system 20x easier.

I am keeping the Xth Duke of Y scheme, just not for baron level or below. I like it too much to get rid of it. So earls and dukes will still have it.
