Germanic paganism, maybe, though if we want to do it it'll be a very low priority. Christian Schism... well, I don't see any way of satisfactorily handling it within VIET's scope, so we're probably not going to touch that.

If I want only the many events in the mod, and don't want too many changes to vanilla, downloading VIET events will do?
By this I mean no changes to the vanilla at all- no de jure map changes, no culture or religion changes, not start date changes- but I'd really like to get all of those events.
Also, if I'd like to get the ambitions and traits, will downloading VIET traits be enough, and will it won't change anything in vanilla?
I'm asking because I loaded the game with VIET traits & events, and I saw some de jure changes- Scandinavia called Kalmar union etc. How can I get rid of those, and play ONLY with new events and traits?
Edit: I read a bit of the wiki, and see something about VIET core. I didn't see it in HIP.exe through, so I guess that it's unplayable now? I sure hope I didn't install it while installing events and traits.

Are you sure you only selected VIET Events in the installer? PB does make de jure changes.
Yep. I checked the "version" txt file in the HIP folder, and it lists only VIET events.
However, in-game I see Scandinavia called Kalmar union, Wendish empire called Poland-Lithuania, Britannia called Britain, Hispania called Spain- and the kingdom of Volga-Bulgaria is now de jure Tartaria, and IIRC it's part of Russia in vanilla.

Honestly, what with the different organisation and cultures of the Latin and Byzantine Rite churches (highlighted by the former not accepting the Quintisext council), I don't see the reason to unite Calchedonian Christianity in 769. Any 'Calcedonian Christianity' would be worse at representing either branch, especially in 769 when the Latin church and the Byzantine church were frequently at odds after the end of the Byzantine Papacy. The decent reason to keep them together is because they hadn't gone all the way in mutual excommunication yet, which is a more theological perspective that is of hardly any relevance to gameplay and simulation.

Well, at the very least you could make it so that the names of the 2 branches are different until they are changed by a schism event. Surely that is doable in a very simple way.

Well, at the very least you could make it so that the names of the 2 branches are different until they are changed by a schism event. Surely that is doable in a very simple way.

I honestly can't make any promises on this front. Personally I don't have alot of interest in doing germanic paganism content and even less schism content. I honestly haven't gone deeply into this with cybr but I get the vibe that he's stance on this isn't too distant from mine. Of course, never say never, some time down the line we might be thinking to ourselves "so, what should the next update be about?" And one will say "Well, we might as well do some germanic paganism or something", sure that's possible. What I will say tough, is that we keep a super-secret text file with ideas for future updates, and while it keeps growing, and has grown after we saw the Charl beta stream, there's still no germanic paganism or schism proposals in there.

Also, if you know me and cybr, it shouldn't be too hard to guess what the next update (or rather, the one after VIET Immersion comes form the dead) will be about.

Edit: I read a bit of the wiki, and see something about VIET core. I didn't see it in HIP.exe through, so I guess that it's unplayable now? I sure hope I didn't install it while installing events and traits.

Yep. I checked the "version" txt file in the HIP folder, and it lists only VIET events.
However, in-game I see Scandinavia called Kalmar union, Wendish empire called Poland-Lithuania, Britannia called Britain, Hispania called Spain- and the kingdom of Volga-Bulgaria is now de jure Tartaria, and IIRC it's part of Russia in vanilla.

Volga Bulgaria is in Tartaria in vanilla, actually. As for the names, those are just name changes, the actual titles are still the same so no de jure changes.
