Yup, it'll definitely wonk up the converter religions icons table unless they changed the way they do things. It's an easy fix tough.

Obviously PDS is forgetting that changes to one game affect the converter on the other.
Of course, we're yet to see a patch for the converter DLC which is now seriously out of date compared to the current version of EUIV. I'm expecting something in the future, otherwise we'll just have to wait until someone makes a converter improvement mod (fixing all the mistakes and problems). ;)

Not that outdated, I reckon all there is is mismatched icons and.... I dunno, that might actually be it from my short glance at CoP (I loaded the game, randomized the americas, looked at it for a minute and logged off... yay for having no time :p).

And tbh this wouldn't be a problem if the icons system in EUIV wasn't so asinine.

You forget how the government types don't line up correctly, flags don't carry over correctly, NI's aren't assigned correctly, there are ugly core claims everywhere...

Hi all,

This is Cybrxkhan again. No, unfortunately I'm not fully recovered yet. I just wanted to give y'all an update on how things are going. For those who don't know, I'm currently ill and bedridden (infirm?), and you can read my earlier post explaining such here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...-Tweak-Mod&p=16566711&viewfull=1#post16566711

Anyhow, overall I've been getting better day by day. Unfortunately the pace of my recovery is very slow, and I also have to deal with the effects of being bedridden for so long. I will no longer be naive and give an estimate as to when I will be able to go back into modding. Even if I'm strong enough to use the PC or even play computer games, that's probably not strong enough to mod, as modding still is some form of work no matter how fun is. So frankly, I dunno when I'll properly "return" as the recovery, obviously, will more or less take several stages. I hope I will be back by the time the next major DLC rolls through. We shall see.

Speaking of my return to modding, I would like to mention that big life changing events like these really make you think things over. There will be changes to the way I handle VIET when I come back; it shouldn't really affect most of you, but I think it is something that will be noticed. I will explain in detail in the future when I'm a bit better and perhaps when I'm preparing to "return". That aside, I'm still thinking of cool things to add to the mod while I'm sick and bedridden - I've realized there's so many flavor events that could be added. So don't worry - when I return, you'll still get all the VIET goodies you love,

Lastly, I would like to thank you and give a big round of applause to OrdepNM for maintaining and updating VIET and answering any questions and comments you guys have. He has done a fantastic job while I've been gone, and I applaud his dedication even though he too, like all of us, has his real life commitments. I'd also like to thank jordarkelf for being a big help to OrdepNM, as well as the many VIET veterans and associates for helping newbies and continually providing support.

Anyways, I will return, one day. I hope that day comes soon. But until then, enjoy your CKII game.

Believe me I want to, since the converter is my baby and it frurstates me more than anyone if things aren't working properly, but right now I have my hands full with VIET and besides modding my schedule has been awfully busy. This past few days my wife had health complications related to her pregnancy and taking care of her has been a second job so modding simply had to take a backseat. Anyway, I haven't forgot about it, I've just been way too busy to deal with it.

Oh my. Sorry I hadn't known about that :( Hope you may find the time to check it out then. It's not a game-ending export since it still works, though VIET-specific events not firing in EU4 is lame. Still, lemme know if/when you figure out what may be wrong. :)

Also, great to see you cybrx! You go get better, kick that illness to the curb, and come back in style. It's great to hear from you. :D

One does not simply add things to HIP :D

The Ban's Charter will be added to VIET, which then will be added to HIP. If you think it's in a good state, I can look into adding it in the next version of VIET (if it's tiny enough to sneak into something nearly done) or the one after, but we should talk better in the VIET thread.

I just wanna try to assure you guys that nothing drastic or anything is gonna happen here, despite how it may seem ominous. I was told what's going on via PM and it's completely understandable and will almost certainly have no impact on your appreciation of the mod. I'll leave it to cybr to tell you about it, but in the meantime I wouldn't want you to dread it as cybr possibly stepping down or, heaven forbid, making me lead modder :s

I meant problems that were directly caused by CoP, ie stuff that wasn't already there before the latest patch. Btw, while all the stuff you mentioned and more can be fixed, and I intend to do it in time, the cores issues is gonna be the end boss of devil-to-pay-ness given how it's hardcoded. I do have some ideas on what may be done about it, but I doubt we can get a proper free flow system, and I'm also wary that the fix can become more convoluted than what it's trying to fix.

Don't worry, things are better now :) Anyway my point is that between the holidays, taking over VIET and the occasional RL incident, the converter really took a nosedive, but as soon as the next VIET version comes up, which should likely be tomorrow, I'll go back to work on it.

yes i've got the newest patch, and i have all the portrait packs.

That's very weird, specially since no-one is reporting any such issue. Maybe I'd suggest a fresh install of the game and mod? There might also be something wrong with your video card?

Well, I'm here :D

It really is great that I can finally talk about HIP. As Meneth says in his announcement, VIET will be teaming up with several mods to give you a unified and seamless mod. Still, in terms of developing VIET, and as far as you'll see, it'll still be work as usual. For the HIP team tough, it'll be a massive boon to be able to sync releases, cooperate and be in close contact with each other. I hope you guys are interested in this new experiment :)

It's only a shame that Cybr's illness dictates we cannot have HIP at its full potential, but still, it's only a matter of time before he comes back and resumes working on bringing VIET to a state where it can be fully compatible with all the modules in HIP. At that time, I also expect to be able to introduce the HIP-EUIV converter, aka, the VIET->EUIV converter in overdrive. So, as you can see, there's great things in the horizon :D

So, everyone, today is the day :) HIP should go live in roughly 1 hour and a half (8/20 CET). Given that, I'd like you to be aware that future versions of VIET will be released as part of HIP, in its own thread, rather than here in this thread, which should be used for discussion, bug reports, previews, etc. For now at least, the customization files for VIET will also be released in this thread (including the patch for PB's No Ahistorical Empires module) tough for future versions that may, or may not change.

For now at least, I'd like to leave you with the changelog for version 1.5.1.2. A big thank you to jordarkelf for this one, as the vast majority of the content are tweaks and additions he had pitched to cybr before his illness and which I got to integrate in VIET. Lots of interesting changes here (and some quite funny!), so take a look:

1.5.1.2 Changelog
-The Norse-Gaels now have cultural buildings and a retinue
-Heretic and religious revolters will no longer fight anyone, just their former liege
-Made Lombard culture playable, including dynasties and historical characters and provinces
-Messianic Jews can now marry most Orthodox Christians and vice versa
-Most muslims can marry African pagans
-Massively improved name linking for many cultures
-The Saxon duchies Mercia, East Anglia, Kent, and Northumberland start with Tanist law
-Characters can now go blind from a serious head injury during battle
-Characters can now also get Great Pox (syphilis) from their lover or secondary spouse
-Advanced Syphilis can lead to blindness or incapability

-The Varangian Guard and Ghilmans now use the Holy Order DLC units if you own the DLC
-Lollards and Waldensians no longer go on Pilgrimages
-You must now be a Norse duke or higher, or the son of a duke or higher, to commission a runestone.
-The Norse AI will no longer bankrupt itself to commission a runestone
-The Norse AI will only hold a blot if he has a prisoner
-Fixed map positioning of a few units and province names
-Gave Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura the proper names on the map
-Changed the availability of Tanist law to jordarkelf's version so it is now the default law for Celts except Bretons, as well as Saxons, before 1150 as long as they're not a king or emperor
-Blinding now removes the traitor and dishonorable modifiers from the victim
-Spawned jews will now refuse to convert to a new religion
-The exilarch (both) are now stuck in primogeniture
-The exilarch will no longer ping-pong between religions if it holds both titles
-The odd cultured spawning shaman is now (hopefully) fixed
-Freshly restored roman emperors will no longer be the "saviors of Constantinople"
-Minor localization error fixed
