These are some bugs and issues I'm having with only having Viet Assets and Immersion operable at game start:

- Backgrounds on portraits are messed up.
2EzEI8kl.png

Make sure you've deleted the old VIET files before installing the new ones in - you might want to just reinstall again. If that doesn't work for whatever reason, go to "VIET Immersion/interface" and open up "portrait_sprites.gfx" with notepad++ or notepad or something like that, and change the following lines to such:
Code:
	spriteType = {
		name = "GFX_character_background"
		texturefile = "gfx\\characters\\shared\\backgrounds.dds"
		[COLOR="#FFA500"]noOfFrames = 28[/COLOR]
		norefcount = yes
		can_be_lowres = yes
	}

- Norse reformed have no holy war cooldown and thus spam holy wars one after the other. I get their supposed to be aggressive but the AI is to dumb to give their manpower time to rebuild before starting another war.

Hmm... That is not supposed to happen, I'll look into that.

- When I download 1.51 or 1.50 there's no VIET Core or Defines file included in any folder

Core and defines have been integrated into Immersion.

- Start Date 867 is below 1066 in the Start Date selector

It's wad, as 1066 is VIET's primary balancing point and focus, more so than 867, but I'll probably have to change it back to the vanilla default because it causes some (harmless) minor issues.

Since it was missed before, I would like to again report that Oman's ruler is only Ibadi during the old gods start and then later it is Sunni, but the province "muscat" remains ibadi forever. This happens in VIET+PB. If I'm not wrong they should always be Ibadi, and possibly all provinces would be Ibadi also (since even in old gods start it is just the capital province.) Of course I have no particular knowledge on ibadi so I don't know but seems a bit weird.

In VIET vanilla it is the same only that all provinces are ibadi.

I have a problem using the nickname Noigiallach to represent an Irish person with nine prisoners. It would be a misrepresentation/misinterpretation of what Noigiallach actually means. Literally it means "having nine hostages". In Niall Noigiallach's case they were not prisoners but political hostages (think of Theon Grejoy being a political hostage of House Stark in Game of Thrones). Unless there is a way to have political hostages properly represented in CK2 I don't think Noigiallach should be used on only if you have 9 prisoners. Besides, having lots of prisoners happens too often anyway. Would a lowly lord who imprisons everybody out of tyranny be worthy of the nickname Noigiallach?

From Wikipedia: “There are various versions of how Niall gained his epithet Noígíallach. The saga "The Death of Niall of the Nine Hostages" says that he received five hostages from the five provinces of Ireland (Ulster, Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Meath), and one each from Scotland, the Saxons, the Britons and the Franks. Keating says that he received five from the five provinces of Ireland, and four from Scotland. O'Rahilly suggests that the nine hostages were from the kingdom of the Airgialla (literally "hostage-givers"), a satellite state founded by the Ui Néill's conquests in Ulster, noting that the early Irish legal text Lebor na gCeart ("The Book of Rights") says that the only duty of the Airgialla to the King of Ireland was to give him nine hostages.”

Little update on progress for 1.5.2: I've not been well for the past few days and I while I am starting to feel a little better it will probably take a while longer before I am relatively normal. Obviously, since resting and getting not sick is more important than modding, I have pretty much been unable to mod in the past week or so, which is a little sad since it is almost the one year anniversary of VIET, but whatever. I will of course still be able to reply to any comments here as zi have since that isn't too energy consuming.

Now that is strange, because I thought i changed that but i dont see it anywhere in my changelogs, so I'll have that for 1.5.2. Yes indeed the whole of Oman and its rulers should all be Ibadi. Actually I dont even know why they have them as Shia in vanilla.

I havent really paid attention to anything this past week but it did seem people were up in arms about the new patch (well, more than usual I mean) so maybe its for the best that you take a break, rather than release a new version only to be broken by the patch.

There could be an event where you get the nickname if you're irish and your prisoners come from more than one state... But that seems complicated. Though I also feel like noigiallach should be a harder nickname to get.

If it is possible to scope for prisoners of a specific kind, say irish landed characters with the their capital in Ireland, it would probably be just the right amount of difficulty, wether you're a petty king or an emperor.

Nothing new, but once in a stream Doomdark aimed for a patch mid-december. Let's see how that turns out.

I don't know if it's SoA or VIET doing this, or if I just got very lucky (the latter is almost definitely a factor) but in my recent Tulunid game, I found it ridiculously easy to keep Decadence at 0. Maybe you can make a few more Muslim events down the line that may give you more Decadence? :p

Thanks. I think as aardvark bellay said the new patch should be coming really soon... So yeah, waiting until it's out is probably a good idea.

Decadence events... Sure, can do, I am planning to throw in some more Muslim flavor events soonish with one of the smaller updates.

Code:
	spriteType = {
		name = "GFX_character_background"
		texturefile = "gfx\\characters\\shared\\backgrounds.dds"
		[COLOR="#FFA500"]noOfFrames = 28[/COLOR]
		norefcount = yes
		can_be_lowres = yes
	}

When I checked the portrait_sprites.gfx file the code was already 28 so I don't think it has anything to do with the frames. I than changed it to 21 and the background remained choppy while the portrait shrunk. I then deleted everything and reinstalled but the choppy portraits still remained so I don't know what could be causing it.

Hmm... That's really strange. If it's 28 it shouldn't be having issues.

What you can try next is basically delete VIET's portrait background changes. First change the 28 to 21 (which I think is vanilla default - you may have to check vanilla's code to be sure), and then delete background.dds (or something named like that) in "mod/VIET immersion/gfx/characters/shared" (don't remember if that is exactly the right folder but there aren't many files in the gfx folder so it shouldn't be hard to find). This should restore the backgrounds to vanilla's defaults.

I personally feel, on the subject of decadence events, that Emperors who hold more than one Kingdom title should accrue decadence quickly -- same for Kings with more than 2 duchies. Also, content, gluttonous, greedy, and hedonistic rulers should rapidly accrue decadence.

Don't know about more titles=more decadence, but modifiers or events based on those traits might be nice.

Has versions of VIET been compatible with each other before? Like was 1.4.1 saves compatible with 1.4.2 ones? I'm curious as to whether 1.5.2 will be compatible with 1.5.1 saves for my own game.

Also, playing as West Africa long enough has taught me that it is indeed well-balanced as it stands now. The only thing that will usually go wrong is if the Idrisids or Umayyads decide to expand southward too early. Should they not however, the main fun comes in bringing Mali together before someone else does. By then I'm able to expand north. Looking forward to attaining a reformed West African Pagan religion! :D

Cybrx I was wondering if this is possibly a good idea for VIET. Perhaps add in an ambition "Improve Education" basically if you have anything lower then level 4 education of any kind you should get random events to help increase it. Should for starting characters who usually don't have the best education.

Get better soon! I'm actually more sick than I've been in years atm. Had some very odd fever dreams about Bavaria in CK2.

As long as the first two numbers are the same it should be savegame compatible, so yes, 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 will be savegame compatible.

Someone asked me about that a while back and I do have plans for something like that, but it's not a priority right now.

Get better soon! I'm actually more sick than I've been in years atm. Had some very odd fever dreams about Bavaria in CK2.

Thanks. Fever dreams can be interesting...

I really believe decadence should only be affected by traits of the ruler and his direct family + any ruler of the same dynasty and his direct family. Also, having a landed title, job or minor title should negate the unlanded family member malus for male members of the direct family.

But yeah, cant wait to see the dev's plan.
