Something I'm not very clear on: is heightened childhood mortality still a thing, or was it replaced entirely by Paradox's (seemingly?) more sparing sickliness system? If the latter, maybe it can be made an option?

As Teutonic Thrash said, I'm planning for a general all-purpose Iranian themed update in the near future. It'll have stuff for the Zoroastrians, Manicheans, Yazidi, and the Iranian cultures in general. The Zoroastrians won't be gettin too much, since they already get quite a bit with the integration of the excellent Mazdayasna Zarathushtrish mod.

Is this happening during the Nerge event chain proper? I forgot about that.

The install instructions talk about going into a customization folder if you don't have all of the faces. Well, I don't have that folder (in the latest release), nor do I have all of the face packs, so all of the Mediterranean people have black boxes. Has this been changed and there's another thing I'm supposed to do, or do I really have to buy the potato head pack?

E: I went ahead and bought the Mediterranean face pack anyway. It was the only DLC I didn't have. I'll just live with it.

The portrait fix is now a separate download right below the main download link (i.e. right below "CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD VIET 1.5.1" there's a download link saying "Portrait Fix for 1.5.1 - Download if you do NOT have ALL portrait DLCs!"). Sorry about that, though, it seems I forgot to update the instructions since I only made the portrait fix a separate download recently; I'll change the instructions accordingly for the next version.

I'm running viet and for some reason i cant form the latin empire...the decision is there, but when i press it nothing happens..

Codewise the decision looks fine to me, but there may be some issue I'm not seeing right now, so I'll see whether I can reproduce the issue and try to fix it accordingly.

I've replaced it completely with PI's sickliness system. Which, as you say, is pretty merciful. When I was running my test games at first I was panicking every time a kid was born because I was conditioned by VIET's old childbirth system to panic every time a kid is born, but then I noticed PI's system is pretty lame so I don't panic anymore.

Anyhow what I've done in 1.5.1 is raise the chances of PI's system causing bad stuff, but I may further tweak it.

I will see if I can make an option to turn it off once I tweak it to a level I find acceptable.

Is the comp module for CK2+ up to date?

Yes, it should be up to date with the latest version of CK2, 2.05.3.

When using Pb+VIET what happens with all the core/defines stuff? I noticed there was no such files in the update. (Also, I am seeing if this fixes my problems)

Core and Defines have been merged into the Immersion module.

What problems are you having?

Which should be shortly after Hanukkah week (holidays season,you know the drill), tough no promises. I do apologise for the wait but between work, the obligatory seasonal flu and now Hanukkah season rolling into town, Ive been having no time for modding. Ive also been having some unforseen trouble with the tech allocation events, since cybr's new religious groups forced me to change several of them and write new ones. I've also worked on a tech allocation system exclusive to the levant-persia region, which more than any other region is the place where different religious groups get to intermix more often, but after some time I decided what Ihad was becoming too constrictive so I decided to scratch it and start over with a clearer system in mind.

Anyway, just wanted everyone to know that yes, it's still getting made, so do save any save you wanna convert for later :)

PS: cybr, I havent played VIET 1.5 but I was wondering, is there any region of the map where the new religious groups are more likely to pop up? Im specifically asking about the ones that arent existant on the map, like the yazidi and (I think) the gnostics.

Haha, thats America alright :p Well, since half my family is catholic (and so is my wife's) I never had a shortage of xmas celebrations, in fact Im flying in to Ireland for xmas in 3 weeks :). Anyway its been interesting so far, as its the first Hanukkah since I relocated to Israel, people are coming out of the woodwork to invite us over for dinner, which might explain my lack of work :p

There's a few Mandean provinces in southern Mesopotamia. The yazidi provinces and rulers are in other there Mesopotamia (around Mosul I believe) from the 1066 start onwards, while there are a few Manichean provinces in eastern Iran and Central Asia until c. 1100. There is one Manichean vassalized to the Samanids at the 867 start, and there are also two Manichean Pecheneg counts. That's all I remember off the top of my head.

Do you have a screenshot? Also the compatch instructions *may* not account for the latest updates of ARKO, if that is the case I'll see what I have to do.

From what I understood, Trait module has been integrated into PB directly so it is redundant.

Hmm. It seems that the Conversion Rate modifier in the Customization Options in-game still directs the player to naming Carphatia. But it could also just be my game messing up since I have been fooling around with some of the codes, but hopefully there is a way to fix this, manually.

Does anyone else experience crashes? I have suffered multiple trying to play with this mods, including the last version. I had hoped the CTD's would be fixed with this version :sad:

Same with me. My Serbs don't have the wild hair and Russian clothing their Croatian neighbours have, they just look generic western.

I think. I'm a bit tipsy at the moment.

I'm new to VIET, and I'm wondering: does it change how tyranny works? Because I banished a vassal and some of my other vassals have a -20 "Tyrant" modifier and others don't.

Hmm. Strange. I just looked at the code for that customization option - specifically the one in the "Bohemian" folder - and I see nothing wrong with it, so I'm not sure what's going on exactly. Anyhow I'll test it myself and see if it works and if it doesn't I'll just change it so it gives them the Bohemian portraits through another method.

Yup, I've removed PB+VIET Traits because it has already been more or less integrated into PB.

I just looked at the code and it appears I did not actually fix that for some reason... maybe I accidentally overwrote or deleted my changes to it. Anyhow, I'll make sure to remember to actually fix it next time. If you want to fire the event manually just type "event customization.39" into the console.

When do the CTDs happen? (For instance, when you load into a new game, every time the game autosaves, after the Catholics win a Crusade, when you marry your daughters as a Zoroastrian, or just randomly all over the place, etc.)

If possible can you provide the error log? It's located in "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/logs", and make sure it's the error log from right after the CTD (if you load into the game again it will clear out the error log).

I'm new to VIET, and I'm wondering: does it change how tyranny works? Because I banished a vassal and some of my other vassals have a -20 "Tyrant" modifier and others don't.

No changes to the tyranny system whatsoever, and to some extent the diplomatic actions are hardcoded anywhere, so the only things I can really do are either change the modifiers' severity and/or add in a complementary but technically separate system. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I'm thinking maybe if your vassals are under another de jure realm of yours it'll only effect certain vassals (i.e. you're King of England and France, you're only pissing off the people in England), but that's a completely wild guess. But it may be a vanilla bug. Otherwise I dunno, as said VIET doesn't touch that.
