We met in a bar in Albuquerque once. I'm the guy in the checked shirt who drove you home and 'soiled' your new sofa.

I thought that was in Casablanca. overused Berber jokes

Hi, started to have a problem last night (OK, early this morning) am playing from the 867 date as a Duke in Scotland using both the Viet 1.50 and the newest CK2+.... the problem...oops 1 of the the 2 problems is I get notified that the Aztecs have appeared about every other month in the game.....no feathers to be seen as of yet.... the 2nd problem and I didn't get screen shots of this are a notification that farmers have used poor seeds (? might have that worded wrong) and I now have a crop problem... which is ok to certain extent...the bad part is it says I now have the bad agriculture until the year 10000 AD.... soooo, kind of think that may be a bug .... possibly, almost, kinda... Haven't run anything with just the Viet or just the + so far, so not sure which they are coming from, but did want to let you know about it....
cheers.

Those things look like CK2+ stuff, since the CK2+ compatible modules of VIET don't deal with that.

Looks like I won't be able to release VIET 1.5.1 tonight either (Thanksgiving, I guess?) - hopefully tomorrow, then. I'm actually almost finished with it, though I still have a couple more things to iron out.

Here's the tentative changelog (a few things may be removed or added, of course, but most of the below should make it):

- Added 6 bug/insect-related flavor events
- Added Random Medieval 4 music pack
- Added compatch for Crak’d’s Steppe Faces
- Added SoA features for VIET’s holy orders
- Integrated parts of SBolshevik’s The Serene Republic minimod
- Added fictional playable Yazidi leaders from the 1066 start onwards in the counties of Mosul and Sinjar
- Added a few Kurdish dynasties
- Added a crapton of AnaxXiphos’ new icons
- Flanders is the de jure liege of the county of Brugge at the 867 start
- Normandy is called Neustria at the 867 start, but will be renamed to Neustria if ruled by Normans via events
- Hungary is called Pannonia at the 867 start, but will be renamed to Hungary if the Magyars settle there
- Most CB Trait restrictions concerning not have the slothful, content, etc. traits are ignored if the attacker has other trait prerequisites (vanilla VIET only)
- Magyars can now form the Kingdom of Taurica (if their invasion of the Bulgarian Empire fails)
- Kingdom of Taurica is Etelköz if ruled by a Hungarian
- Gave the Aghlabids a few ships in the 867 start
- Tweaked the Defenders of Light (Manichean Holy Order) to have more cavalry
- Reintroduced the Young Age modifier but reduced the health malus of the Sickly trait to compensate
- Slightly increased chance of childbirth complications

Bugfixes and optimization
- Integrated Superskierpat’s fixes to heresy titles
- Removed Zhayedan decisions, which could cause CTDs since the Zhayedan orders don’t exist anymore
- Temporarily fixed CKII+ Events module causing Hansa popup events
- Tweaked Nerge description to account for non-Mongols participating
- Fixed references to Sephardic instead of Sephardi culture in various parts of the code
- Fixed Mamluks not having the bektashigfx graphical culture
- Fixed Mandean religious heads getting weird names (i.e. 'Semsoun_Samson')
- Fixed Pagan Livonia having the wrong flag
- Fixed missing culture requirement prerequisites for the Kingdoms of Wallachia, Bulgaria, Kiev, and the Empire of Bulgaria
- Fixed Beograd/Belgrad and Meath/Tara localization
- Fixed “No VIET Assets” popup event so it won’t appear even if VIET Assets is installed
- Fixed Israelite cultures not having access to VIET’s Jewish retinues and unique buildings
- Fixed several titles using succ_elective instead of succ_feudal_elective
- Fixed pilgrimage and jewish loan options have disappeared from the Intrigue tab in PB+VIET
- Fixed Pregnancy generic flavor events not firing
- Fixed CTDs if selecting a start date past 1066
- Fixed missing localization for Go Traveling ambition
- Fixed Go Traveling ambition not accounting for Christian pilgrimages
- Fixed Change Conversion rate customization option triggering the Carpathia name customization option incorrectly
- Fixed some Latinokratia localization errors
- Fixed missing localization for the Ibadi Holy Order and Swahili Fleet
- Fixed missing localization for some of the Shiite theology events
- Fixed PB prisoner decisions not working all the time in vanilla VIET
- Fixed Asian Champions retinue being available to various non-Asian cultures
- Fixed the leader of the Republic of Oran being unselectable in main menu
- Fixed Amalfi and Hamburg patricians not owning any cities

Also, VIET 1.5.1 will add in some holy order flavor for the new religions in VIET (actually the holy orders were already added in 1.5.0 in the code, so they don't appear in the game). All are pretty much fictitious (with the Ibadi, Yazidi and Buddhist holy orders have some semi-semi-semi-historical basis) but guess I can't do much about that if I want to be keep VIET's religions consistent with vanilla. Anyhow, a preview of the Manichean Holy Order, which will basically be the Lux Invicta References Holy Order:

Nice, I have been wanting to create a Manichean Persian Empire but sadly there are no Manichean characters around in 867 :(.

To my knowledge vanilla has two Manichean Pecheneg counts (for some reason...). VIET also has had a (semi-semi-semi historical) Manichean vassalized to the samanids

Nice to see the new update will add some good stuff, Cybr. I'm recently trying out the VIET modules with CK2+ and looking forward to testing around. Same with PB.
Also the bugfixing is always nice to see updated. All those hotfixes are tough to keep up with through the posts. ;)

Yay, my fixes have been added! Just a small problem:
- Hungary is called Pannonia at the 867 start, but will be renamed to Hungary if the Magyars settle there
This is effectively useless unless you change the creation requirements, and I personally think a new title might have been better, considering that the Magyars can magically take it away from you if they have Pest and Transylvania.
- Normandy is called Neustria at the 867 start, but will be renamed to Neustria if ruled by Normans via events
So it doesn't change it's name at all, does it? :D
Also, the Defenders of the Light option text makes me fell like I'm looking at Lux Invicta. :D

Was there ever a discussion about turning the Culture of Split, Zadar and Ragusa to Dalmatian (Latin group)? During most of Middle Ages, Dalmatians considered themselves a separate culture and closer to Roman than Slavic (and they tended to not like being ruled by the Croatian Kings). At times of Hungary-Croatian PU, Dubrovnik (which fancied itself as the capital of Dalmatians) even attempted to spread Dalmatian culture onto Senj (via tongue, not sword) and only in EU4's era did Dalmatians turn away from Italian influences and towards Croatian (mainly due to Venice's exploitation of the region which made Italians unpopular while the Croatian sympathies, due to them standing up to the Turkish invaders, grew).

Yes, the Manicheans will be the LI reference religion.

Exactly. :D

Ooh, I'm flattered :D

Actually I am halfway through a VIET+PB 867 Buddhist pacifist run (as pacifist as possible in CK2), but I will drop it in favour of a Manichean one just to have a Lux Invicta-ception; a LI team member playing as a roughly LI team member based holy order

Just wait until I get to my Iranian update (which will include stuff for the Manicheans), it's gonna be LI references nonstop.

Let us have a minute's silence for Shaytana.

[silence]

Hmm... Well, I have always thought adding a Dalmatian culture would be interesting. I suppose if we take some slight geographical liberties (since I have strict requirements for adding new cultures to prevent myself from adding a gazillion cultures - they must cover either 5-6 counties, 2-3 duchies, or 1 kingdom), I can make a hypothetical Dalmatian culture cover Zadar, Zachlumina, Ragusa, and Zeta (maybe even Senj), which would be the two duchies of Dalmatia and Duklja and thus fulfill the requirements. Probably won't add it in until I (re-)add the Republic of Ragusa, which won't happen until VIET 1.6.0 as I'll need to mess around with the map slightly in that region for Republic balance.

If you know a decent source for Dalmatian names that would be great, since currently on Wikipedia I get the sense that most of the people listed have the Italian or Croatian versions of their names.

I have a decent article that someone else on the forums posted about Pechenegs, and it seems a lot of them were Manicheans.

Hmm, that is interesting. I've done quite a bit of research on the Manicheans myself for a research paper, and never heard about Manichean Pechenegs, but then again I was focusing mostly on Central Asian and Chinese Manicheans (i.e not on the western steppes) so yeah.

I'm having a bit of trouble using PB + VIET, as in, everyone has -100% Levies due to ruler martial skill. A bit of a problem. I've tried searching but I can find nothing. Have anyone experienced this?

Not sure why that's happening for you, but it may be if you're using the wrong versions. Make sure you're using VIET 1.5.0 as well as the latest version of PB, and that when you installed both you deleted any old mod files you had completely before putting in the new stuff.

With the current overlay crappy map, you can't give them justice. Expanding them into Zeta is as ahistorical as it can be (and it removes the existence of the Adriatic Coast Serbs, who were more influenced by Byz than Inland Serbs).

Hmm... so would Zadar, Zachlumina, Ragusa, Senj, and Veglia work if we allow some amount of historical/geographical liberties (so that it would still technically meet my requirement of at least 5-6 counties, 2-3 duchies, or 1 kingdom)?
