Pffff... As if Id ever let that be. First expansion to the converter will be just Israel, Semien and Khazar events OPing the jews. If Paradox can do it with Sweden I call fair game :p

You should add in a falafel flavor event, though, if you're going to give the Jewish nations some flavor or stuff. I'm a little sad I forgot to put one in. :D

Btw, I only checked for like 5 minutes but there might be a localization error. Apparently the jewish temples and priests are localized to barony and baron.

Ah, you're right on that, I was aware of that but forgot to change it. I dunno why it's like that, I thought I had added it in a long time ago, but it should be fixed for VIET 1.4.1.

Can I run the immersion modules while on CK2+?

Nope, unfortunately not.

Here's the relevant Q&A from the FAQ on the first page for further information concerning that in case you're interested.

Will you ever make a fully-compatible version with CKII+ or The Prince and the Thane?
Short answer: no. For an explanation as to why not, see this post here. I will however continue to make CKII+ compatible versions of the Events and Traits modules so long as CKII+ stays updated to the vanilla patches. Nevertheless, the current team of modders taking care of CKII+ have told me their interest in integrating parts of VIET into CKII+. I have given them my approval and blessing, and while I will not take an active part in the integration of any part of VIET into CKII+, I look forward to helping and communicating with them as necessary. If you're a VIET/PB+VIET and a CKII+ fan and know both mods really well, it'd be great if you can give the CKII+ guys suggestions and ideas on what may or may not work.

Hey Cybr, great update, I played as Karen for two hours and had great fun. Major flaws I saw:
- Some localisations seem to be missing, notably the culture names and the Abbasid Caliphate which is called the Abbasid Empire ingame.
- Decision bloat. With all the new decisions some characters have way too many on screen. (Especially the zoroastrians) In my opinion you should put every customisation decision under a Options decision and also tweak the cultural and religious decisions to only appear if you have at least the requisite title tier for them. (Except some big ones like the Saoshyant decision).
- The first and second Vashts of the Zhayedan are already active when you start the game.

I am now "Officially" bugging you about the compatibility of the full suite of PB VIET with SWMH! :p

Well, everybody's bugging me has already paid off a while back. :D

Really, though, the current unofficial ETA for a PB+SWMH compatible version of VIET is sometime around November or December.

Hey Cybr, great update, I played as Karen for two hours and had great fun. Major flaws I saw:
- Some localisations seem to be missing, notably the culture names and the Abbasid Caliphate which is called the Abbasid Empire ingame.

Since you're a veteran VIET player I guess I don't have to bother you about the "did you install VIET Assets" thing. :p (though I guess it wouldn't hurt to check if it didn't fully install or something)

I'm not sure why it's called the Abbasid Empire ingame, but I'll look into it. Possibly I forgot some localization thingy somewhere or something.

Also,d o you know what cultures are missing? I think a couple of the Jewish ones might be, but I'm currently not aware of any others right now.

To be honest I already find a problem in vanilla (maybe we should all bug the devs about cleaning up the decisions screen), but I suppose I can try figuring out a way to keep it clean in the future, including the ability to hide certain decisions and so forth.

Hmm... yup, looks like you're right, for some reason I didn't copy the proper files into the PB version for some reason. To fix this on your local copy you can go to the vanilla version of VIET and into "VIET Immersion/history/title" and find "d_zhayedan_1.txt" and "d_zhayedan_2.txt" and copy over to PB's title histories. These files ensure the Zhayedan are unactive at the beginning of the game, of course.

Right now, though, from what I see, there's really only two main things to do for the PB+SWMH - 1) remove all unneeded history/culture/titles/etc., and 2) updating VIET mechanics and flavor to the new map and culture groups. The first one is relatively easy (just delete stuff), but the second one will prove to be rather tricky in some respects.

But it certainly should be possibly done by November or December. Depends on how much time it takes to do the next three planned themed updates, the stuff for the Muslim "Republic" and the Khitan/Chinese stuff could be quite time consuming. :D

what religions?

Hmm. The relevant ones I can think of is that Shia is a heresy of Sunni, Nestorianism is its own separate branch of Christianity and not a heresy of Orthodoxy, and the addition of East African paganism. So all you'll need to do is remove East African paganism, make Shia its own branch of Islam again, and downgrade Nestorianism to a heresy of Orthodoxy (and make sure all of Nestorian's heresies are heresies of Orthodoxy or Maiphysiticism or something).

Hmm. The relevant ones I can think of is that Shia is a heresy of Sunni, Nestorianism is its own separate branch of Christianity and not a heresy of Orthodoxy, and the addition of East African paganism. So all you'll need to do is remove East African paganism, make Shia its own branch of Islam again, and downgrade Nestorianism to a heresy of Orthodoxy (and make sure all of Nestorian's heresies are heresies of Orthodoxy or Maiphysiticism or something).

Well, yeah, then again you won't be running the real meat of VIET in Immersion either. Maybe better to wait too until EU4 has a few patches out.

I don't know how crazy or flawed my plan is but read my chunk of paragraph in my thread about how it MAY be possible to have eastward movement of tribes, I'll just copy/paste


great idea, prepared invasions turn off at 40 realm holdings, maybe have an option like the magyars to "drop the east" to be able to invade richer western lands. but you should be able to invade then drop the lands of the kingdom you once had... hmm... maybe this can be modded in like the Hungarian invasion to have tribes moving westward.... Hungarians move west drop the east and the pechenegs do something similiar.... but how to make it so the ai has the tribes pushing westward from the far east...? maybe allow count level vassals of different cultures(say the pechenegs are subdued by the cumans) have the option of re-setting up the tribal kingdom of pechenegs and invade the west so you can free yourself from the Cumans... the last problem would be culture shifting... maybe all altaic cultures can shift quickly within the altaic group meaning a pecheneg invasion into Wallachia will convert the Avars and Cumania into Khazaria/Pechenegs will convert them to Cuman.... this may all work...

on top of this, you can tie this in with the de jure system so a pecheneg vassal in de jure outside his Khan liege (aka pecheneg vassal under Khazarian Khan of Khazaria but the vassal is in Taurica) only that Pecheneg could invade westward and not all of them.

And indeed you may want to throw in some ai only stuff and let the player invade eastward if they so desire.

EDIT: I was jk about the drop everything btw :p but tell me what you think if you ever plan on going back to the steppes

Alright folks, this is my last post from my main PC before I go on my vacation for about a week and a half. I will be able to read and possibly even respond to any bug reports, feedback, comments, etc. when I’m not doing anything, but given I won’t have as much time to, well, be on the forum (nor shouldn’t I be, anyways, since I’m on vacation :p), and given I won’t have my main PC, I won’t be of much help as I usually am for the next week and a half. In cases where I don’t respond or can’t respond adequately for a while, I hope my fellow modders and VIET players can assist me in answering questions and so on as they have in the past. :)

Lastly, just for fun, I’ve posted an online survey here about VIET. Please feel free to check it out. I figured it’d be a good way to get a better idea at the sort of audience that plays VIET as well as what people think of how VIET’s currently working. Might be useful to gather some information on whether I’m taking VIET in the right direction and all while I’m on vacation. Anyhow, I’ve also posted a link to it on the first page, too.

A few days after I get back from vacation I expect to release a small update, 1.4.1, to fix most of the bugs/issues from 1.4.0 (some of which have already been mentioned), as well as possibly add in a few things I intended to in 1.4.0 but haven’t been able to, and integrate (most of the) nicknames from Syren’s nickname mod.

So again, feel free to post whatever, I’ll still be around, but I’ll be busy on vacation.

@User29: Hmm… I might be able to do something like that in a limited form, depending on my coding ability, but we’ll see. Why don’t you mention that again after I come back from vacation (in case I forget), and I’ll think about it further then. It might fit for the Tengri-themed update.

Hey, I want to report a bug. I just recovered all of trebizond as the byz empire, and now I get the event popup saying they are no longer a threat every couple weeks. Ive so far gotten around 150000 free prestige from it, before I finally decided to do something about it. The popup is annoying as shit.

Im no good at modding, so I just commented out the entire event. The event in question is found under VIET_Imersion, events, latinokratia_events, #Byzantine Empire recovers Trebizond.

Sorry for the shitty bug report, best I can do.

Thanks for that, I'll have it fixed for 1.4.1. If you dont mind, can you post the edited file here for other people to use in case they also come across that? I'd do it myself if I were not out of town.

Thanks! This is kind of a laid back vacation so I am not doing as much as a real vacation, so I'll probably be around the forums a *bit* more than I would on a real vacation. But of course I won't be on a lot like I'm usuLly am. :p
