Here's a post listing the requirements for holy wars (I *may* have missed a few, but I think this should cover most if not all cases). Given that you are the Kaiser, the requirements are probably going to be very strict. If you don't meet these requirements, give yourself a lot of prestige and piety via cheating and see if that works. I'm also suspecting that there might be a bug with holy wars for Catholic monarchs to begin with, so if you meet all of the above requirements and you still can't holy war anyone, don't hesitate to tell me. (I'll simplify the holy war requirements eventually, anyhow, but I'm not sure how to do it currently.)

There seems to be the bug afaik. I meet all requirements, yet, the option is greyed out. I'm posting a screenshot that might help you a little. 2013-06-17_00001.jpg

For any of those who have watched the anime series Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari/whatever, the dynasty name of "Karen" is a lot funnier in the context of wincest. Holy crap... holy crap... I can't believe I never noticed the coincidence before. It's like the greatest coincidence in the world, ever. It's like as if Ahura Mazda wanted it to be so. I bet Ahura Mazda likes toothbrushing as well.



I have a question about the music packs. I would love to try them but it's a lot of clicking. Would it be possible for you to put them all into one folder and make them downloadable as a whole? :)

Sorry, won't do one big pack, as it will take way too long to put everything together every time I add in something new.

That said, though, since a few people have asked me for the same, I might do a compromise by releasing compilations of several music packs, i.e. put the first ten in one pack, then the next ten, etc. That way I don't have to put them all in one big pile every time. However, I'm hesitant to do that as it'd still take a while to put it all together. I'll think about it.

The decision from PB won't display correctly if you're running it with VIET, I haven't updated that decision to reflect VIEt's changes. Lemme see... Do you have a pagan province in your realm? You must convert it to Christianity (well, in theory, any non-pagan religion, but Christianity for your purposes)

EDIT: Just saw your commment about releasing non-Christian provinces. I'm not sure now... can you send me a savegame? I'll try to look at it later today (a little busy now in the next few hours so probably have to wait a bit) and see what's up.

You could make make them proper mods with a .mod file to load and the path inside without breaks, then they will be checked and you won't need to bother to check them each time you start the launcher.

Having an annoying issue. My current character's father was a Jewish courtier married matrillinealy to my previous Queen. When I took control of him I got an event which stated that as his father/mother was Jewish would I like to convert my character to Judaism. I declined the event but it keeps popping up month after month and is getting a little annoying. Anyone know where this event is located so I can tweak it? I'm running PB+VIET with all modules

I'm having a major problem playing as Mercia in the late 9th century. Clicking on the feast decision makes it vanish and never return. I think it's been brought up in the past, and related to the outdated Duel Engine, which is only tangentially affected by VIET. However, I reported this on the Project Balance thread (I'm playing PB v3.2.17 with the PB version of VIET v1.3.1,all PB-compatible modules), and Meneth advised me to report it here, in case VIET somehow broke something.

So, just to make certain I'm understanding, for Project Balance and VIET, I have to enable all the VIET PB mobules, as well as VIET Assets, yes?

Further, I'm running into a bug where instead of any Norse faces, I get a black square (I do not own Norse facepack).

In addition, I'm getting errors on the face circles for messages and the court screen for heirs, appearing in the wrong places and being totally unclickable.

Also totally random, but a week ago was VIET's half-year anniversary. Yay.


Having an annoying issue. My current character's father was a Jewish courtier married matrillinealy to my previous Queen. When I took control of him I got an event which stated that as his father/mother was Jewish would I like to convert my character to Judaism. I declined the event but it keeps popping up month after month and is getting a little annoying. Anyone know where this event is located so I can tweak it? I'm running PB+VIET with all modules

Hmm... never thought that would've been an issue, but here's a way to stop it from popping up for the player.

Go to "[PB] VIET Immersion/events/jordarkelf_events.txt". Find the section of the code below, and add in the code in orange:

Is there a reason why one's better than the other? Just out of curiosity. It doesn't really matter either way, but I was just wondering.

I'm having a major problem playing as Mercia in the late 9th century. Clicking on the feast decision makes it vanish and never return. I think it's been brought up in the past, and related to the outdated Duel Engine, which is only tangentially affected by VIET. However, I reported this on the Project Balance thread (I'm playing PB v3.2.17 with the PB version of VIET v1.3.1,all PB-compatible modules), and Meneth advised me to report it here, in case VIET somehow broke something.

All VIET PB Modules and VIET Assets, yes.

As for the Norse faces, try the portrait fix - instructions are in the customization options folder.

Thanks for the savefile, but it's not needed, I've been able to reproduce it myself, and I know what's the cause.

As a temporary solution, you can copy "mod/Project Balance/events/feast_events.txt" into "mod/PB VIET Immersion/events" and replace VIET's feast_events.txt there. Basically you're putting PB's code into PB VIET. You'll probably remove a few features of VIET, but these are all insignificant stuff that doesn't really matter to begin with so it should be fine.

Is there a known problem with the portrait fix not being effective at stopping the black box portrait errors in the 6/16/13 release? I'm just trying to run viet only on base CK2 1.101. I overwrote the immersion/common/culture folder, and deleted the specified files (including the Mediterranean) but i still get the black boxes on harold of norway in 1066 and all of his vassals and many others. Is there a way to disable the portrait enhancements only?

If you're still having issues with some of the Norse portraits, did you make sure to delete portrait_sprites.gfx?

I tested the portrait fix myself by disabling all the portrait DLCs and applying the fix, and it did work, so it should work.
