what is new ?
There's been quite a bit of progress, but nothing I want to show without the greater whole for context. The mod is alive and well, and we have something of an internal roadmap to release that's not particularly long. It just involves work-intensive stuff like populating the map.

And how much of the mod is completed in terms of procentage from 1 - 100?
Depends on how you define completed. If you mean all continents and so on and so forth, it'd be rather low. But if you count just the EK, which will be our initial release, then things change. Still can't give you a number because it's not how I quantify things when it comes to modding, but still.

One thing to keep in mind is that while this first release will include only the EK, it will also have pretty much all the framework for our systems, so any map additions will involve far shorter waits.

Do you guys have a patreon so we are able to support you?

One ought to be careful when trying to support modders financially. Usually the copyright holders do not intervene in what can be considered a copyright infringement (mods) when they are pro bono. Mods have been stopped by Cease and Desist letters from corporate lawyers when trying to extract profit from a mod's content. Now one may claim that "it's the community who supports their modders, not modders who ask for money" which they'll simply laugh at because they have no way of knowing that for sure - so they'll err on the side of caution and come down on the modders like a ten ton hammer.

This has unfortunately happened before.

If you want blizzards opinion: just check what their policy is to for-profit private servers for WoW. :/ should tell you everything you need to know.

For profit private servers are in direct violation of the terms of service. Generally speaking, most non-scummy companies are willing to draw a distinction between that and donations made to people making a free mod inspired by their IP.

But, again, you'd have to go straight to the horses mouth to be sure.

Yeah except Bliz also goes after the free (or "free") servers; it's not about the size or the profitability, it's about the likelyhood of them getting a C&D letter to stick. They tend to only stick in the US, or in the case of this mod they may stick in Sweden if Big Daddy Bliz sends the letter to the right office.

Yes, they are. And that is why Blizzard goes after them aggressively when they feel that they have gathered too many "subscribers" (check the vanilla server Nostalrius that got shut down). However if they so wish Blizzard could go after any modding team for a contract violation for using Warcraft assets or the IP in general.

Yes this whole deal with "intellectual property" sometimes gets really stupid and unnecessarily complicated.

Blizzard needs to do that to protect their IP. If they ignored the vanilla servers they would lose it. That's also one of the reasons they are creating classic servers.

Not entirely accurate. They could have struck a generous deal with the Nostalrius people to keep the thing running under a limited license agreement and would have gained a lot of good will out of the deal. It's not like Blizzard isn't swimming in cash, they could take the relatively negligible hit.

They did tho.
Nost agreed to take it down in exchange for input when Blizz made classic servers (or something similar if memory serves).
They did what they thought best for the vanilla players.
Then nothing happened for five years so Elysium was created with servers in russia where Blizz couldnt touch them (since no classic servers from blizz = no reason to not keep Nost up).

They will never lose their IP to private servers unless WoW, and every other Warcraft franchise, gives up the ghost. Vanilla isn't a separate franchise from Burning Crusade, which isn't different from any other expac.

Can yall not blow up the forum people have novs for updates can yall keep it to question's for the devs not 9 novs for how blizz does policy

Calm down, this is still on topic.

Aye; actually, it would take even more than that, people would pretty much have to forget en masse the association between Blizzard and Warcraft. It's just not something that is going to happen.
