I am experiencing multiple issues as well. For starters in one game every rulers from baron to imperial shields just disappear from the character portrait and could not go back to the game because of instant crashed.

Another game is when I am assigning my councils member their dynasty coat of arm are floating all over the council tabs but doesn't do it on the assignment tabs. Also in the same game when I click on a character portraits or when I go to my titles tab; the coat of arms seem to have shifted out of place.

This mod seem to crash quite often; specifically in the arena of a revolts popping up, fiddling around character portrait, checking demesne or clicking on my army.

On an another note, this mod have tremendous potential! Keep up the good work!

Dear LumberKing ~
firstly, thanks to give us great opportunity to play with your awesome mod ~
I really want to play with your mod which correct save bug and reflect latest DLC such as reaper's due .

if you are working on this stuffs. Could you let us know when it would be done and released ?

Thank you~

Also I detect another strange issue; in the Anui female portrait. Are the female suppose to have mustache or tattoo drawn mustache?

On a side note, the game crashed a lot of my save games. I literally have to start from scratch again. This is not enjoyable.

With WtWSMS, where we are doing a map overhaul, some users who played with the dev version reported that issue, and it was apparently caused by different holdings having the same name, which for us was something which a part of our province changes. Not sure if this applies to Tianxia too.
Loup how would I go checking if this is the issue, I'm not a Dev but I've done some modding and I would really like to be able to load a save of this mod.

The Validator should provide information on duplicate holding names if there are any. Then you can solve it by removing them or renaming them in the appropriate entries of landed titles, province and title history and localisation.

I shall be back from a very very long University Hiatus soon (after the 18th to be precise.) I'm not sure of the state of the mod right now however, what bugs are people experiencing?

Subsequent released versions, starting with 2.6.1.1 are crashed when it's saved game is loaded.....
we want to play your mod with reaper's due DLC.

I remember there being an issue with a Japanese (graphics) province being both in Japan and Egypt. That might relate to the problem talked about earlier, though I don't remember which province it was.

Anyway, do you have any plans to add East Asian secret societies from the M&M DLC?

I take it this is just in the coding and not in localisation?

Only the coding should cause actual crashes as far as I'm aware, but I mentioned the localisation to have a more clean mod and because it naturally needs to be updated in case holdings are renamed.

Sorry for the lack of response everyone. I've been incredibly lazy (also real life tends to get in the way). The current version has a lot of issues because I'm not sure what exactly is causing the crashes. I have a general idea like how the The Reaper's Due changed event scripting, but I've had difficulties in finding the exact issues. Also, I might not be able to do the other start dates before moving into Closed Alpha. This is because while Japan and Korea got a province update, China has not. I think it might be best to expand the amount of provinces before expanding other start dates (if this order of doing things sound stupid then please let me know).

Also, the current team has put in a lot of effort, but we still need more people experienced with map modding and bug fixing. We also need modders who can add a lot of characters as well as fixing family trees. A lot of these works will require those who have some experience. To be honest, I am not experienced enough with a lot of these specific things. So if you would like to volunteer then let me know.

If I were you, I would just fixed what I can to remove the crashing and potential duplicate files for now. The next expansion is due next month I believe. So more headbanging and groan for the modders or excitement; yes this estrange relationship since Paradox Studios inception.

Once again, Happy New Lunar Year!

To think that I'd say this without delivering anything more substantial... Eesh!

Let's see what we got so far:

We managed to actually release an Open Alpha for the public to use. Thanks to the team, the map was expanded to include more of Indonesia as well as increasing province count in various areas (except for China). There was a semi-merger with the Umbra Spherae mod (the more senior map expansion) which improved the quality of this mod by having access to resources and material which would have taken us more time to make.

Now for some short-comings:

Though there has been a release, it is full with a plethora of bugs where with the current build, it'll crash within five years of in-game playtime. Also, development has come to a stand still, mostly due to me being inadequate with communications. The overhaul of some scripting with the official expansion packs have been great for the game, but nightmarish for us modders. Finally, we still haven't got a workable start date for the other Bookmarks.

It is quite clear that the current development is struggling to say it nicely. Personally, I feel that I have not done well leading the team. I would like to continue leading and bring a revival to the development for this mod, but I would like to ask the community if that is a good idea. If not, I must ask if there are any willing volunteers to take on this behemoth of a project in what would be a third re-iteration of the mod.

Regardless of that, I would like to open up the development thoughts I had for this mod.

As I have mentioned when I first took over the mod, the mod will be split into separate Projects for the purpose of splitting up the workload. The flagship, Sons of Heaven, was the main thing which introduced what everyone was expecting. The accompanying second, Khans of Mongolia, was supposed to be a map expansion with new horde mechanics until Paradox released Horse Lords, which made it redundant somewhat. These two projects are well underway, it is just a matter of completing the map, history, and everything else. The so-called secret third project, is Sunrise Invasion. This project was something I was going to do on my own once all of the history and base mechanics (decisions/events) were complete. As you can tell from the name, it is literally just a carbon copy of Sunset Invasion, except from the East rather than the West. Finally, the fourth and final project for Tianxia, is Genghis Khan or Temujin (name pending). The intent of this was to expand the Khans of Mongolia in regards to story and narrative, much like Charlemagne did for the Karlings. I do believe Horse Lords added some stuff regarding this, but it can always do with some improvements.

Once the map, culture, and religion was complete, the next step was to have a mod for the converter so that you could continue your campaign into Europa Universalis IV. This shouldn't come as a surprise, since most people who play this game have a grandeur of not only painting the map their ideal colour, but also do it through all of time. Once all of that was done and if there was demand for it, the idea would have been to make more map expansions into Africa and then the Americas, with new projects being called; Traders of Sahara, Chieftains of Zanj, and the Warchiefs of America (names pending).

These were just my thought which I had shared with the team, but now have decided to open up to the community.

Anyways, have a good holiday (if you're on holiday) or just a nice day in general and enjoy this image which I (again) lifted from Google.

I've been following this mod since you took over and I say you should continue leading! I think we all realize that real life tends to get in the way and it should always come first, and no one is going to fault you for that. I also believe that no leader is perfect, but as long as you acknowledge your shortcomings and mistakes and are willing to correct and improve, then you are a good leader. Besides, this is all your vision and I think there is no one better than you to make it happen.

While I have no experience in modding, I am currently in grad school for Chinese history (focusing specifically on the Song-Yuan-Ming period), while also dabbling in a little bit of the Imjin War and the late Qing. If I can be of help doing some research, please let me know. I'll be glad to contribute in my spare time!

Out of curiosity, how far do you plan on expanding into Africa and the Americas? Personally, I think that West Africa could be completed by expanding down to the coast (with the Niger River becoming a major river), while East Africa could expand down the Swahili Coast and the Kingdoms along the African Great Lakes (with the Nile becoming a major river, ending in Lake Victoria). As for North America, all that's really needed would be Greenland, Markland/Vinland, and the Northern U.S. down to ~Massachusetts or New York (maybe expanding west to the Great Lakes as well).

Also, is the Sunrise Invasion going to be an Inca invasion of East Asia?

I think the map they have right is more than enough. If they do want to expand then it might be in their best interest to separated the map into specialize region. Right now the map focus is the mod the current mod as functional as possible; it look like the author stated that an update was made so I might re download the mod again and see if there are issues.

Just posting ideas here or in the suggestions thread will be helpful.

If there were to be more map expansions (they would be extensions to the current projects), I would like to cover as much as possible. Not too different from what Umbra Spherae is doing, but doing it piece by piece.

Also, is the Sunrise Invasion going to be an Inca invasion of East Asia?

Having specialised region is also another idea I had, but at some point it could be interesting to have the world of Crusader Kings for the entire world.

In terms of update, there is none right now. I am currently reading up on the changes for modders as well as practicing on smaller project so that I can get back into it after a long hiatus.
