Darn, I just downloaded it last night and there is a new version today? Talk about being on top of stuff! Was that one of the bug fixes between 2.1.1 and 2.1.2?

Yep, that's why I asked.

Well now I just look foolish. Thank you for such a great mod that you update so regularly as of late. Many props to you sir. Save game compatible?

Sure, no probs. And yeah, should be savegame compatible.

Did this started with the 1.092 patch? Because I used to play 1.091 with CK2+ without issues.

I meant a bad vanilla install. It was working fine before, but maybe the 1.092 patch messed up somehow? You think if I reinstall the whole game it might work? (though I guess I will try removing the retinues first)

Thanks for all your help.

The retinue CTD is specific to 1.92 yes.

Just forget what I said about the error log. Reinstalling the game won't change them, those are errors in vanilla (I checked and I don't have any of those files in my vanilla folder). If it's not relevant for vanilla, it's not for the mod either so there's nothing to fix.

Simply go to the common/retinue_subunits folder and empty the file there (retinue_subunits_swmh.txt). You will have to start a new game and everything should work fine after that. There won't be any retinue units in the game but we don't have any other solution to the problem right now.

Found a few tooltip errors in decisions when playing as the king of The Kindom of Georgia. Summer Fair and a few others get TOOLTIP (or something like it) as description.

Having a blast so far, btw.

Oops, someone already reported it and idlib already saw it. Thought it was a strange bug as the tooltip is there in the decisions.csv. Wierd.

The tooltip text for the feast, hunt, and fair all seem to be missing as well.

I dunno if this is something that you guys would like, but I would like to make a few observations. I have 2.1.1 installed and I have started my first game.

1. Income is drastically lower than in vanilla, I am unsure how well I like this yet.
2. Reinforcement rates are low but manageable, no more instant assaults though which is to the good.
3. Playing as ERE from the 6 Jan 1066 start I never had the Seljuk's DOW me
4. Retinue cost is prohibitively high, but this helps with the 100k plus size super empire armies of late game.
5. Cost and number of buildings in a holding seems a bit out of scale. There is essentially no building I have found that has a payback period, 200+ gold for a .1 ducat increase seems a bad investment.
6. As soon as the clock hit 1090, three countries founded holy orders. France founded the Livonian order, Hungary founded the Livonian order and England founded the Knights of St. James. There might be an error there.
7. I have never seen so many assassinations, like all over the realm.
8. Very few children seem to be born, even with a very fertile ruler with lustful and hedonist and a fertile lustful hedonist wife. 3 kids from the age of 16 on the wife to 38.

Thanks. I've done it already and it did fix it. Played 6 years without crashing. I would recommend posting the solution in the first page, to prevent newbies to come here asking the same thing over and over.

Anyway, enjoying the mod so far. I haven't seem much yet, but the extra flavor helps to keep the downtimes interesting. I think I will replace CK2+ as my favorite mod.:)

Btw, I am curious about some decisions regarding the de-jure configuration and cultures. I don't think there is some documentation or wiki where the the design choices are explained, there is?

3. Playing as ERE from the 6 Jan 1066 start I never had the Seljuk's DOW me

This happened in my first game, but in the second they already took Armenia and even invaded Georgia.

8. Very few children seem to be born, even with a very fertile ruler with lustful and hedonist and a fertile lustful hedonist wife. 3 kids from the age of 16 on the wife to 38.

Not my own experience. My lustful hedonist ruler had 10 children, being 3 bastards (one from event, though).

Good evening, I realized a little problem. When I choose the Kingom of Jerusalem by 1187 and decrease the Year for one the game freezes. I am using OS X Lion and the only way to exit is to force the application to quit. I guess there is some little error in the definition files. :)

Can anyone confirm whether "Make Rome Capital" decision works correctly for the restored Roman Empire?
Code:
		effect = {
			custom_tooltip = rome_capital
			hidden_tooltip = {
				b_tivoli = { province_capital = yes }
				ROOT = {
					b_tivoli = {
						usurp_title = PREV
					}
				}
				#b_roma = { set_name = Lateran }
				b_tivoli = {
					set_name = Rome
					ROOT = { capital = PREV }
				}
			}
		}
Here the code says b_tivoli is usurped and renamed to Rome. This is same as vanilla. However, what's not the same is that
-- In TPatT, Tivoli is a city rather than a castle. If you have a feudal emperor, it makes little sense to make it your capital.
Maybe replacing b_tivoli with b_castelsantangelo would make sense, to keep compatibility with SWMH (that's where b_tivoli being a city comes from, right?) On the other hand, just editing "333 - Roma.txt" to make Tivoli back into a castle would probably be better for SWMH, because SWMH doesn't intend to change decisions.

I'm sorry I don't have much of an idea whether it works in practice. The code doesn't look right to me, but maybe I just don't understand it sufficiently well.
I apologize in advance if that's the case.

Edit: Meneth has confirmed that it makes the Roman Empire a republic, as well as provided a more elegant solution as to how to prevent this.

Is there any way to disable these joined/left faction notification events because in the HRE i get them every 3- 15 days. Will that cool down or is there any other way because it is really killing the game in the HRE.

And another thing: I am playing the Duke of Saxony and one of my vassals just declared himself Duke of Lower Saxony and is now out of my realm ???

That sounds right to me. If a count creates a Duchy and he title is equal or higher to yours he becomes independent since you hold no rank over him.

I understand the mechanic but it is just totally unrealistic.

PS: I also found it pretty hard to regain the former lands of the ERE like Jerusalem and Egypt. Shouldn't there be some kind of imperial war reason or something ??? The only ways I see are fabricating one or get a clairwhatever to join you. What else ?

But normally you shouldn't be able to create a title of the same tier as your liege's. I loaded a quick game as Aquitaine to be sure, and indeed I can't create the kingdom of Aquitaine because I'm the vassal of a king.

I'm playing the newest version of the mod. All good for about 5 years. I'm playing a Patrician in Amalfi. Suddenly my monthly balance is coming in too fast! I should just be getting 2/3 gold a month, but every month I'm getting 10 or more with no explanation. Is it a bug in the mod? Thanks for any help. Great mod though apart from that!

On checking, it seems to happen to patricians in other republics too! Is this part of the game and a way of giving the patricians a helping hand over the Doge?
