to create any kingdom, you need 2 ducal titlesHello
I'm unable to form the kingdom of Cyprus, is there any sort of special requirements to form it or only the ones listed?
I have all of those requirement fulfilled to the point where it doesn't seem like it could be them preventing me.
To form Kingdom of Cyprus, you can't be Byzzie vassal, it's in the requirements. That has to do that the historical Kingdom of Cyprus was rather formed by crusaders after they... ehm, took over the island from Byzzies. Under byzzies, Cyprus was a theme (duchy).Yes I have all of the counties need as well as three ducal titles two of which are part of the kingdom. I have piety and enough money.
I'm a vassal to the byzantine empire but I can't see how that would be an issue unless crown authority is important and to the best of my knowledge it isn't.
WAD. It's contemporary name. "England" originated as "Angle Land"I'm not sure if it's intentional, but England is called Englaland. It sounds like an amusement park.
Capet is only the personnal nickname of Hugues Capet (remember in his time almost everyone had a personnal nickname), no other individual ever used it in the dynasty before it was used at the revolution ... to ridicule the king during his trial. In the mind of the french people, heraldry and the particle system were strongly (wrongfully though) associated with the idea of nobility and the taking down of both was systematic. In the end, it's a exactly like renaming the Hauteville dynasty to "Bras-de-fer" or "Guiscard" : if some historian would decide to do that in the XVIIth or XVIIIth century, that doesn't make it any historical, just like the Byzantine Empire.
Philippe Capet, Sancho Jimena or Robèrt Bosonid are individual names that would never exist in any context (not even modern academic papers since they are incorrect in grammar or form) and since there's no way to distinguish the name of the dynasty from the name the individuals use ingame we're stuck with choosing one or the other. I thought people were against any kind of modern apocryphal name like Byzantine Empire but if the majority of players want them it's still possible go the other way, but careful what you wish for : there are hundreds of them and since first names are very repetitive there will be many identical dynastic names like Rodolphians or Willelmids.
As for the counts of Toulouse and Provence having identical arms : they used the bosonid cross of Provence as their emblem and had no other one. So did the cadet branches of all the families having a claim to Provence (counts of Forcalquier, viscounts of Marseille, the lords of Baux and Monteil). Those are the arms of the Marquisate of Provence which was at the center of the dynastic conflicts in Provence in the XIth and XIIth centuries. It's also no coincidence that the city of Pisa chose a very close design as it was the capital of the Marquisate of Tuscany (before the game timeframe), ruled by the same dynasty.
So, Adhémar, you could make something like a sub-mod for TPTT that replaces these dynasties with the 1.09 names (and the Bosonid CoA), cause playing with House "de France" and "de Navarra" feels a bit weird.
Well if a majority of people wants the mod to revert to its state before I joined, I suppose I'd rather know right now before I put any more work into this. Like I told Idib, my modding work is often controversial and always have strong opponents but at least with MEIOU I had a few months before people start rioting and ask me out.
What titular empires are there in this mod? I see there are only three de jure empires, but I was wondering if I could create, say, some sort of Wendish Empire?
Also, feasts are broken.
In reply to Halajda, the dynastic names varied more from culture to culture. For example, the dukes and kings of the Premyslids would style themselves as "Přemsyl" and then whatever their name was.
