I just crashed at September 15, 1074. They seem to be anywhere between September and October 1074. Also, I noticed that some of the portraits were glitchy with the new headgear (which look very nice)... some of their noses are missing, and replaced with a white smudge. Sometimes there appears to be random white lines in the portrait, too.

All that is in my error log is this:
[texturehandler.cpp:169]: Couldn't find texture file: .
[texturehandler.cpp:169]: Couldn't find texture file: .
[texturehandler.cpp:169]: Couldn't find texture file: .
[texturehandler.cpp:169]: Couldn't find texture file: .

Edit: Going to try out new version...ignore this for the time being.

Same error, but I crash on March 7th 1079

Okay here is 1.05c :) I'll be gone for the rest of the day, so enjoy the mod and sorry for the inconveniences you encountered before, who should totally be fixed now. I get no 1074 or any other crash, so try doing the 2gb fix, and if not try playing with the same resolution in game as your screen's, and at max 4 speed. It's probably a performance issue as I was able to bypass that date pretty easily, anyways if anyone is able to spot what causes it (if there's an actual cause) please post it here.

Ok, the crashing is now fixed, but the amount of deaths still seems ridiculously high... From 1066 -1075, the Duke of Ryazan changed 26 times. Places like Toscana even changed a good 5 or 6 times in that same time period. Also, it seems that it targets males more than females.

My recent game lasted three years and both my characters were killed... end of game. People were dropping like flies, I was constantly inheriting titles from my vassals and I inherited my Dukedom based off of the "seemingly natural" death of my liege. I, of course, couldn't figure out what the cause of death of my last monarch was (because you can't check it) but my first was also a "seemingly natural" death.

Is the assassination problem back? Ah, the good old days...

Maybe a ti: if court size increases to much it appears to have a hardcoded mechanics to increase mortality, also there are more people pretending to same titles, so much more plots. The last version of TPTT increase the children for couple, so courts are more populated. I think this could explain mortality increase without any other code issue. Just an hipothesis, I am not sure about this, but all game I play the morality increases when I get larger courts (I like to play many options Elective way).
A second reason could be province tax, since provinces income could trigger ephidemics (this can be changed at defines.lua, but i never try since i have no knowledge to restore game balance if i change it).

Whatever is causing it needs to be severely cut down. Plus I thought your own family was immune to the "auto-pruning" as it were and it was an AI tactic. Regardless, it shouldn't be lowering the average reign of any ruler (human or AI) to such a drastic low. Like I said, I got to 1069 (and just barely) before losing two Dukes and ending my game. In the meantime everyone around me was dropping like flies. That's how I got my Dukedom and it is how the person before me got the Dukedom as well. Plus I then gained several titles (all over the course of three years mind you) from people dying without issue.

That doesn't sound like the auto-pruner to me. I have a feeling it is, as you pointed out, the plots. They are either too easy or they are too cheap or they are both.

Are you starting a new game each time it crashes? Or are you loading an autosave or any other saved game? Because I started a new observer game to test out if it crashes, and it didn't (for once). Not sure if it should matter, but always better to test with a new save.

The deaths are so anoying I took a look at the Objectives file, Factor = 2 is set for plot_kill_character where it was 20 back in 1.04 so I changed it to 20 and it seems to have reduced them back to how it was, atleast for now, its 1071 in my current game.

File location is ..../common/objectives.txt search for kill_c and it will take you to it scroll down till you see Factor = 2.

I think despite the "soft limit" at court from defines.txt there are a "hard limit" about 50. Even if you set the sof limit very high (even 999) health mortality still increase when court is around 50 (not sure about the effective hedge, but 50 I guess is a good number).
1.6 must changes it, since with Muslim Harem the court limit grows up 50 very easy.
Maybe this hard limit I supposing to be are a way PI found to balance performance since it degrading a lot with many alive characters at mid and later games.

This is the same problem I'm having. All of my children died right around their first birthdays, and then I was getting kidnapped like every week before an eventual crash.
