You are correct, the threshold for Exalted Among Men was changed to 3000. I fully agree, that it should have been upped from 1000, but 3000 seams a bit high. Playing as Harold Godwinson, I've defeated both invading armies, won two de jure wars against Scotland, fabricated a claim on a Welsh "princedom" (duchy) which I won, revoking two shires (counties) and lived to age 65 and I still don't have 3,000 prestiege.
Another thing I noticed playing today is that when I'm playing as a character who turns the age of 6, I am unable to educate them. I'm not sure if this was an issue in vanilla as well though.
