I've been playing this mod with two of my friends for a few weeks now and we all really love it.

Unfortunately, we have a problem where after we get past the year 1100, it gets hard for us to join each other's game. What I mean is that when I am hosting, my 2 friends connect just fine but after a period of loading the saved game, the borders disappear and when they hover the cursor over land, it says something like "No selectable Character". The host of the server sees everything as it should be, so it only affects the other players. We've each tried hosting a save we all took but the same thing happens- the joining players see the land as a dark grey color that says "No selectable character" (sounds ominous, doesn't it). This has never happened with plain old CK2, but I have also noticed it happened with an older version of CK2+ (before the SoI patches/expansions).

I have asked long ago (again, before SoI came out) but no one answered my question. I'm hoping I'm not the only one who encounters this problem so a few of us might be able to figure out why this is happening. Any help would be appreciated, especially because my friends don't want to play anything but TPaTT lol

I also had this issue. Whenever a transferred a game past a certain date to a friend online through CKII's automatic transfer system, it would not load correctly and would appear as a corrupted save in their folder. The only way we were able to resolve this was to zip the game save and upload it to drop box, then have my 2 friends I was playing with download the zip and manually put in the save.

It seemed to affect every save after a certain save, which we attributed more to some sort of corruption caused by a CTD, not necessarily due to it just being after a certain date.

I also had the problem of being unable to complete a building. As pagan Wendland I noticed that some of my provinces had problems building barns, and my capital had problems creating military workshops.

I have got a slight concern, and a possible idea for solution. I am a power gamer of sorts, and figured that it is unprecedentedly easy to inherit lands or make a religion switch in a country that you aren't a ruler of, in the Prince and the Thane.
In this mod (compared to Vanilla) rulers tend to get all sorts of traits that reduce relationship between the said ruler and everybody else. This makes inviting heirs to their throne into your court (followed by religious conversion and a marriage under silly conditions) extremely easy.

I know that the easiest solution would be to not exploit this, but may be you could patch it with a slight relationship boost between the heirs and current rulers? So that people like me won't be tempted :)

well its Idib's mod:), so to what extend he would want to modify the stuff from SWMH im not going to try and pass judgement on (though I would find it a bit funky to go with Scandinavia since its an 18th century invention) my point was that there is a reason behind choosing this setup. However Terra marina will be for catholics only in the next version and the lappish/finnougric/livonian/estonian/slavic pagan situation has also been resolved for the update.

So I'd assume there would be a titular title a pagan ruler could create in the Baltic?

Some titular empires would be cool too. Lots and lots of them, oh yes.

I'm getting alot of graphical bugs. Like faces missing, and CoA's being solid black.

Is it a bad install, or a bug?

Do you have the 2GB fix applied to your ck2.exe file? I think the only time I've had that problem was when I'd re-installed the game and forgot to apply it, details are in the first post I think.

If you have applied it, you may need to reinstall the mod.. or wait a bit for the next version. ;)

I haven't made one yet(could not find a suitable entity:unsure:) but I will try to get the Pagans their own title and some more titular ones in general. However since Idib seems to be close to a release, it will probably not feature in the coming update(im working on Moldau and Wallachia at the moment).

That's great! :)
Actually, I was thinking... Not quite sure, whether it is implemented anywhere or not (there are events sometimes popping out but that's not it (about contesting between courtiers etc.)), but would it be possible to add an option to give someone the title of Regent, thus revoking it from the current one, who isn't especially liked (by the player or the others) or just plain dumb and leper or of another culture, religion etc.? Of course, there also could be consequences if this is actually done, such as relations hit with vassals and so on. Or maybe simply impossible to give the title to someone else if the current one is very smart or is the Heir or whatever.
Just a little idea here, really. Is it actually possible to do something like that? Is it even worth to bother with? Or is it hard-coded? Just curious. :)

To Mojshe's idea, more than assigning the regent, it could be a honorary title to a person that "if something happens to the ruler, this one will be appointed as regent" (with all the other possible outcomes due to events and so). Don't really know if it's historically accurate though...

I am fairly certain it is hard-coded, though. Maybe I am wrong. But I feel that picking the regent is against the point: you aren't in control (hence need a regent), how can you pick your regent?

As far as I recall, rulers could at the very least appoint someone to be a Regent in the case of the their death so that the young ruler could rely on someone to preserve the country for him (or her) for those years while the child grows, learns and up until the adulthood. Meaning, there could be at least some degree of "control" on the player's side. If it's not hard-coded, yes.

EDIT: Same reasoning could apply to other situations such as simply having a very reliable "right-hand" man (even a friend, perhaps), who could, umm, help out in the case of some problems with the ruler's health, absence or whatever. + the obvious events about growing power-hungry or fending off others who are like that if the Regent really is a good friend etc.

well the regent I have always got is the Steward or the equivalent in other regions so choose your steward wisely and it would be no concern I think?

My idea (can't really speak for Mojshe) is not so much picking it at the moment that something happens, but assigning him beforehand. Like writing a will.
Even better. :) Problem is, of course, that if the Regent steps into power when the ruler dies or becomes incapable and, let's say, dies himself, then we have a fight for the power on our hands. Or a civil war. Or all those weak claims... Or a CB to become the Regent?.. I don't know, just generating some half-weird ideas. :)
