Should now work with HIP.
Please make sure you start a new game if you decide to use this alongside HIP :).
Thanks for the update, I've just one question to be sure: does it work if we were using the previous version alongside HIP? Except for the formation of the Byzantine/Roman empires having different conditions it seemed to work just fine, I was thinking of editing the decision myself when I got around reforming the empire. The ipc_hip_detected flag was apparently already set in the previous version from what I can see.

You shouldnt really have been doing that lol. I had to change some of the maintenance events to make it work with HIP.
Also the startup event has to make sure HIP is running for the compatibility stuff to work. Which may or may not have worked correctly in the previous version.

Well, I like your mod and I'm kind of impatient. The global flag that checked that HIP is running was set fine (I run print_global_flags and I see ipc_hip_detected), I guess I'm going to see how things turn out. Anyway, are you sure that the decisions to restore the Roman empire is fine like this? The required duchies are different compared to the regions required by HIP, for example emf_region_ir_tier_3 includes Sardinia, but it doesn't include Ferrara and Genoa.

Why do i always forget one thing ?
I'll fix that tommorow, other than the different requirements it should be fine to use.

EDIT: Fix uploaded.

EDIT2: Apparently HIP "Furry2" changed how the forming Roman Empire decision works. So now I have to change it again.

Does it affect only the Latin Empire? I think I don't see the "ruled_years = 5" condition either in your decision, not sure if it's been added in Furry2.
It affects both. Even the id for the event it triggers was changed.

EDIT: Done. Hopefully this should be enough until I can work on the next major update.

Need to update for vanilla and HIP.
Should be done by tomorrow.

There shouldn't be any major bugs outside of making a new empire while you already have one.
Thanks for the info, I'm looking forward to the update. Is it feasible to make it compatible with both vanilla 3.1 and Furry3? HIP's Furry3 isn't officially compatible with 3.1, I understand they're going to make it compatible with the incoming Furry4.

The new patch mostly added Wonders and changed around some minor things in the files. The only big thing related to this mod is the "Russian Empire" decision. I just blocked that decision if you're running HIP until they update to this patch.

Is this mod's decision to become the Roman Empire from the Byzantine Empire with the society working? I tried to do a version of this mod myself, not knowing it existed. But although I made the new court society's version of the recreate roman empire work with the HIP rules for recreating Rome(controlling different stages rather than certain duchies) when I finally tried it out. It just destroyed the Byzantine Empire society and a decision to create the roman empire society appeared. If you want the code I can give it to you but considering I didn't ask permission to make the version of someone else's mod I wasn't planning to publish it myself.

I don't know what alterations you made but the decision works fine. Both the Vanilla and HIP versions are working correctly from what I could test. Make sure you have the latest version, one of the HIP updates changed the event for forming Rome.

What do you mean controlling by certain stages? The most important requirements for it to work correctly is you have to be the Grandmaster of the Imperial Court as well as no Imperial Offices assigned and have the Byzantine Empire as your primary title. There are a couple of delays for everything to finish to account for vanilla and HIP events, everything should be done in about 5 in game days.

That is very outdated. The HIP event it calls is wrong. I dunno how the HIP version works exactly, I just copied over the requirements it set and added my own.

Furry4 is out and in the patch notes there's no mention of the Russian Empire decision, but there are some fixes related to the early formation of the HRE. Is it safe to use the current version of your mod if the game is not affected by the HRE changes?

Yeah it seems HIP has it's own "Russian Empire" so I don't think they'll adapt the vanilla version.
It was pretty much safe to use as most of the changes were done to the regular HRE formation decisions which could only be taken by Kings. Kings can't have Imperial Courts so nothing needed to be done there.
Regardless I've updated to the latest HIP version now and fixed the missing sound effects from the vanilla Monuments update.
