hey, Great project hope it will be finished soon...

here are some general observations and some specific ideas about the valah lands

1. there are some provinces named north sea, sea of cannaries and such, probably you know about them
2. Pest and Maramoros (in Hungary) are switched

3. The two romanian voevodats are much too rich, I would delete at least one barony from each province. maybe add one in Transilvania ;), also Maramoros should be valach as well, as it was, along with the Fagaras county one of the last regions in Transilvania where the romanians enjoyed more political freedom, and the place of origin of the first moldavian vevods
4. The provinces of Galatz and Belograd are misplaced, Galaz is a town in the province of Barlad and Belograd is the slavic name for the fortress of Cetatea Alba (in romanian), so Barlad would be Barlad or Galaz (your choice, and Galaz would be Cetatea Alba, Chilia (a genovese fortress on the Danube) Belograd or Akkerman (the turkish translation), the probince of Belograd could be Thighina. Barlad ->Barlad Galaz -> Cetatea Alba Belograd -> Tighina

Are you commenting on the present version or the version used by TPtT because your naming of provinces seems a bit off.

We have already extensively discussed the cultural setup of Transylvania and as i remember there were very strong agreement between most of us (including Aasmul) to keep it as it is.

well, regarding Transylvania you probably went with the ruling/rich class culture, which was hungarian/saxon, and that's one reasonable point. The argument was that the political status of Fagaras and Maramores was identical (valach autonomous ortodox nobility, untill the 15th century), so if X = Y and X has V, Y has V as well. Also the earlier starting date hungary had a much weaker grip.

Also the vlach in Thessalia, Greece, are different from the vlach in Romania, so making them Armânji, Rrâmânji or Makidonji, the way they call themselves or Aromanian, in english, would be more acurate, though the language in incredibly simmilar.

also there are noculture pagan provinces in italy and one lage one that, I presume, was intended as a wasteland.

There must be something wrong with your version or perhaps you are using it alongside a mod that is not compatible with SWMH, because i don't have any pagan/noculture provinces in Italy:blink:

Great idea about the Aromanians, although i fear that they are to small and scattered for Aasmul to seriously consider including them as a separate vlach people.

I hope that will stop me from answering before looking something like Naples/Nablus up , i mean i found it by going to wikipedia (shame on me...) :D

BTW: I just realized that localized names for bishoprics and Prince-Bishoprics, e.g. Bistum /Fürstbistum in German don't show up ingame. They remain Bishopric of ...
The same goes for the localizations of court chaplain and the honorary titles

This is true for all localizations - not only the German translations.

hmm thats strange, I will investigate.

Oh, i was kind of confused by the fact that Galilee encircles Acre. By the way, doesn't that feel a bit wrong, wouldn't it be better to put Sidon and Beirut under Acre and have Galilee be the inland part instead.

Great to see an upcoming update:). Though truth be told I nly recently got my edited version of the mod up to date, including (some of)the extra duchy, kingdom (and empire) creation rules proposed by jordarkelf.

Will all the new 18 provinces be listed in the changelog? (PS in my edited version the stem duchies never were a problem;))
they are already listed^^ from tregor and then the following 18(one is a desert)

Is this from swmh 2.603(without other modification/mods affecting the landed, history or mapfiles) or from a version of P&T? somthing seems completely wrong:unsure:

Awesome mod. But like any self-respecting(read: overly nationalistic) person I took a look at the culture files for my country, Estonia.(culture is called tsuudi in the files)

Couldnt help but notice a few oddities. There is no equivalent to "of" in estonian, so "gada" is just straight up wrong, especially since there arent any non-foreign words that start with g, b, d, c or y. Similarly the name "Cake", while funny in english, does not actually exist.

There is some hilarity in the male names. Like Metsavana(old dude that lives in a forest), Järvevana(this one lives in a lake, both are actually decent for a druid sort of guy), Peremees(master, of the ownership kind), Pardiajaja(some sort of duck salesman or breeder, or possibly someone who keeps talking about ducks), Puuk(tick of the insectoid kind), Tont(ghost), Taevas(sky or heaven), Vanaisa(grandfather) and of course Jumal(god).

Women get some good ones too, like Haldjas(fairy), Luupainaja(nightmare, must have been some very annoyed parent), Tütred(daughters, which must be very confusing if she has sisters), Näkk(mermaid) and Murueit(a somewhat offensive term for a wife or old lady, who seems to be associated with grass)

My personal favourite however is Kaevukoll AKA well monster. I assume that it was some poor kid that fell into a well and got himself a nickname.

The names are okay though, especially due to the potential of having a king called Pardiajaja or Kaevukoll, but the "gada" is out of place.
Having stolen the culture from Dunin I will let him take the honor for the wellmonsters and the cakes:D
I will clean up the gada, and please if there is other changes to the Estonians you fell should be made I will be happy to make them:)
btw do you have an idea for what kind of retinue the estonian should have?(and what it should be called)

yes, I downloaded the map to see if there was a difference between the P&T version and this one. some provinces of northern croatia or hungary have sea name as well as the province of Philadelphia (the last BIZ possession in Anatolia) that is East Mediteranean, so we have the Count of East Mediteranean

If you are running 2.603 plain and you get such a province localisation bug then you must have gotten a corrupted download, I haven't experienced anything like it myself(not this time around anyway:D).

There hasnt really been a historical equivalent to a retinue, more the levy style where people got together and went to raid or siege. The formed units were called malevad(singular - malev) though, so that should suffice as a name. Possibly a mix of light and heavy infantry. Definately no cavalry(horses dont do all that well in a forested swamp), and I havent heard of widespread archery.

update, I forgot to deactivate CK+, along with the vanilla map... sorry

the names are right now, the only issues that stand out, in my opinoin, is the maramores culture and the wealth of the valachian region... and the aromanians, for a flavour.

looking forward for the final map

Edit, but when I resign most of the time the game CTD

update, I forgot to deactivate CK+, along with the vanilla map... sorry

the names are right now, the only issues that stand out, in my opinoin, is the maramores culture and the wealth of the valachian region... and the aromanians, for a flavour.

looking forward for the final map

Edit, but when I resign most of the time the game CTD

Are you renaming the provinces yourself, as far as i can see Transylvania (Erdelyorszag) consists of Feher, Doboka and Szatmar, are you referring to Doboka when you say Maramures. But i still stand by what i said earlier, we have already extensively discussed the cultural setup of Transylvania and i stand by what we (including Aasmul) settled on, that the current setup is the best possible depiction.

The nerfing of the wealth of the Vlach territories sounds like a good idea though and i totally support the addition of the aromanians as a separate vlach people although as i said before they might be a bit too few and dispersed to warrant their inclusion. The renaming is a bit beyond my expertise, so i will not comment on that.

But in the end, it's Aasmul's decision.

why did you separate the Lombards/Langobards in Italy in 2 cultures? The fact that they sort of politically split at a certain point doesn't mean their culture did.

I think "Lombards" means, more or less, the normal inhabitants of the area, be them of Langobard, Roman, Gothic or Gallic ancestry, but with Latin as their first language, while "Langobards" were merely an elite over a population of mostly Greek, Roman and Oscan stock, though Romanized like in the north.
The "Lombards" in the north were both commoners and noblemen, while the "Langobards" were mostly nobles.
The "Lombards" were culturally Gallo-Romance, close to Germany and France, while the "Langobards" were still mostly Germanic, but with some minor openings to Byzantine and Italian influences.
Essentially, the "Lombards" are a sum of cultures being a majority in their own land, while the "Langobards" are an almost "pure" Germanic people, minority over the land they rule.
I also don't agree at making them present over the Campanian areas, really.
I think they should be southern Italian culture, not Langobard.

hmm thats strange, I will investigate.

I re-downloaded the your original mod without my changes to it - to see if i messed things up. Same result.

Concerning the jobs: your created special jobs for the HRE are displayed correctly.

Concerning the bishoprics: The duke-tier bishops also are displayed correctly as "Erzbischof" of a "Fürsterzbistum".
(the bishopric thing might have something to do with the connection of the title to a religion).

Edit: An Idea for an additional honorary title for the HRE: Rectorate of Burgundy for the House of Zähringen respectively the Dukes of Zähringen.

Hello guys
your mode is very fascinating and i am happy that i played it a lot. Sad that in your mod pagans are unplayble, but i changed some file and with Gedgaudis family conquered polish german other countries.
Is there any posibility to help you with heraldry, flags historic city names of all baltic tribes such as prussians, latvians and others. Ofcourse my proposal is available only until the teutons invasion in 12 century, then all names of cities are written in german language, because of prussian asimilation with german people?

Is it still compatible with viet as i thought they where using a specific map now?

It should be - although VIET isn't complete compatible to SWMH only the Traits and Events Modules are. Even though they are using a specific map, these modules should work AFAIK.

I thought the main idea of VIET was to have a modular mod which is compatible with other mods, like map mods.

How is it going with the release Aasmul, do you think you will get it ready tonight or sometime tomorrow?
I wish I could say. All that is left is for the Spanish things to be fitted into the other stuff, but Axl has been sick the last two days so he haven't been able to go on with the merge.
