why did you separate the Lombards/Langobards in Italy in 2 cultures? The fact that they sort of politically split at a certain point doesn't mean their culture did.
I think Lombard mean here Romano-Italian.

I have to disagree, the northern ones were reshaped by their absorbition into the realm of Charlemagne and subsequently the HRE. They got heavily influenced by the Frankish due to the reorganiztion that came with integration into the empire and also due to the big amount of intermarriges between the franko/germanic nobility and the local north Lombardic nobility.First of all "romano-italians" would live everywhere in Italy not just in Lombardy.
Second here's what I read:
Langobardo(southern Lombards)
Lombardo(northern Lombards)
The distinction between southern and northern Lombards is purely political not cultural. That's what I was saying.
When Charlemagne took north and central Italy he replaced almost all nobility so I wouldn't call it "integration". In general I would agree with you, but then IF the Lombards would have been so quickly integrated (which I have no evidences that prove it) then they couldn't be called Lombards and all these cultures should likewise not exist, not in 1066:
Veneto(Venetian)
Toscano(Tuscan)
Ligure(Ligurian)
Langobardo(southern Lombards)
Lombardo(northern Lombards)
Mediano(central Italian)
Meridionale(south Italian)
Neapolitano(Neapolitan)
In 1066 you have what you can call an "italian" or "italic" population, with noticable differences only due south, a frankish nobility in the north, a greco-roman nobility in Latium and a few bordering areas, Lombard nobility in what is now the region Campania and some byzantine enclaves in the south, well represented in vanilla by provinces with greek culture surviving. Plus the quickly expanding Normans.

Sounds greatbut is it possible without doing a complete integration?
.
I don't know yet, it's primarily the map that I want to make it compatable with, lux uses it's own set of cultures and titles.
The map is gorgeous, isn't it ?
I wonder if SWMH will be compatible with republics DLC..
It does seem a little weird, too, that Hamburg has no port on this map. Could we somehow make the Stormarn / Hamburg province coastal, given its prominence as a port city?
Hi guys, I was wondering if I have a go at trying to create a sub-mod of Lux Invicta to be compatible with your map?
Happy Holidays guys! I've been on a bit of a holiday myself, but wondering how the development is going & how we're all doing.![]()
