Are there any reason why the de jure kingdoms Swabia, Franken, Sachsen and Carinthia in 1018- do not exist in 867? It is in my impression that these should exist in 867.
.
HRE stem duchies do not make sense as de jure entities if the HRE doesn't exist. Also, this strengthens the initial setup significantly, promoting much less screwed-up border-gorey outcomes with the proto-HRE.

The stem duchies are all reactivated and restored upon HRE formation.

But what about Lois the Germans successors? Each gained a kingdom and futher divided the east Frankish kingdom between Carloman (Bavaria) Louis the younger (Sachsen and Franken), Charles the Fat (Swabia).

Can you tone down the winter white?
It's super bright and makes it difficult to see the map.

The brightest of the white during winter months is just extremely strong.
Thanks

What was the reason?
Patrician Elective succession law displayed some weird behavior when combined with Muslim religions.

From a historical perspective, I don't see why SWMH should add Muslim merchant republic as a historical start because, as far as I can tell, there is no comparable historical example to Venice or Genoa in the Muslim world during the CK2 period. Even the Maliks of Hormuz were more of hereditary rulers whose major revenues came from trade, rather than a "republic" with multiple competing plans. And a formable Muslim republic mid-game as a gameplay feature falls more under EMF territory.

This has probably been answered many times before, but why does the SWMH feature the Limfjord and lack The Fens of Anglia and York, and have Holland mostly above sea level? Basically, why does SWMH opt for a more modern coastline thana more historic one?
I guess only Limfjord should change, since that's the only one that didn't exist at all inside CK2's timespan, but I'm still curious about the Fens as well.

The areas you mentioned were mostly swampland, not sea. It was flooded many times, but this didn't mean it was a regular sea. Just the coastline of the Netherlands changed a lot since many major floods happened during this era. Around the later middle ages the coast was something like this:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e5/Karte_Haus_Burgund_3.png
Also the Limfjord DID exist. The vikings used the Limfjord a lot to travler faster to the North Sea. Why do you say it didn't exist? It totally existed and was an important feature.

Thank you for the information; I had been under the assumption that the Limfjord hadn't formed until the flood in 1867, or more accurately hadn't connected to the North Sea until then. My mistake.

You are thinking of the canal that opened permanently in agger tange in 1825. We are both danes so we are aware of danish geography. Historically it would actually be more accurate to place the channel at wust, not many non-danes know about it but vendsyssel was an island long before 1825, thanks to the channel at wust. Aasmul couldn't quite get the wust channel to look right, so he went with agger tange instead. It was also occasionally open before 1825. Its a tiny patch of sand, it just looked better as a finished product

And the limfjord we don't even need to debate, it's never been marshland like the fens, and it's always been open at one end hence why its called fjord and not sø

will there be map changes in the next release?
Nothing major. There were several misplaced provinces in eastern edge of India, so they have been replaced by several provinces elsewhere in India. There's a new province in Urgell (swapped with Eivissa) and Tabaristan, one each.

May I suggest this:
Carpathian "Ужок/Uzhok" pass from c_zemplen to c_peremyshl/c_galich

Görz got the marked region of Aquileia so the cultural setup does not look so weird (slovenians inhabited this region anyways). No baronies have to be moved.

Polimlje and Podrinje:
Podrinje got the marked region from polimlje because it contains the drina river and is basically the podrinje region.
It also fits perfectly to be bosnian culture because of the map i showed above about bosnian-community sources.
The city b_foca in polimlje would then be part of the podrinje province (Foca is directly at the drina not the lim river).

Donji kraji, Vodica and Vrbaš:
Donji kraji are way too large ingame.
The western part is in the vodica county now which got renamed to "Pset".
This region is described to border the unca river in the south bordering the zavrsje province.
It is described also to border the una river in the west and this is why my example is also digging into the lika province. b_bihac has to be moved because it is directly on the una river.

It fits the borders of the bosnian kingdom perfectly.
This also fits the bosnian culture because there for sure were no bosnians along the western una river.
Vrbaš however got the eastern vodica region which is essentially Vrbaš.
This would result in b_bjelaj to be moved from donji kraji to pset and b_vodicevo_una and b_dubica from pset to vrbaš.

Also b_zrin and b_stenicnjak (today Sjenicak) in vodica are wrongly located because they are west of the una river and therefore in the okić province.
b_ozalj in okić is west of the kupa river and therefore in modruš.
b_liplje in vrbas belongs to donji kraji.
Wrongly located baronies only HIP devs can fix ultimately:
HIP:
b_ozalj in c_okic -> c_modrus
b_zrin/b_stenicnjak in c_vodica -> c_okic
b_liplje in c_vrbas -> c_donjikraji

My mod:
b_bihac in c_senj -> c_vodica
b_vodicevo_una/b_dubica in c_vodica -> c_vrbas
b_bjelaj in c_donjikraji -> c_vodica
b_foca in c_polimlje -> c_hum

If this bothers you just delete the "map" folder inside my mod.
You could just copy it from my mod and fix the baronies(at least the 4 already wrongly placed)... It fits perfectly ingame
