I'm currently working on a little submod for HIP, especially the SWMH map. However, while the cultures I've added (and their localisation) show up in the ruler designer, the changes I made to a number of files in history\provinces don't appear in the game. Do you have any idea how to overwrite SWMH's province files?

Actually, verification necessary, but they should be straight-up out of the game (not creatable as titular) if 'remove ahistorical empires' is selected AFAIK. Unless there's another vanilla bug IDK about. Custom empires w/ the Charlemagne DLC serves the purpose of, well, custom empires better.

Hmm. I agree that the custom empires work better and are more flexible, but iirc the AI will never form those? Wonder if that can be modded.

I'm happy with the AI creating fake empires as long as they're not de jure. Hmm.

Is the Duchy of Aragón supposed to be de jure part of Aquitaine in the 867 start? I don't recall this ever being the case before.

I had the AI form the Kingdom of Teutonic Order once, which had interesting successions. I can’t recall any other examples, though.

It was a vanilla change in 2.2 that was inherited by SWMH, because SWMH didn't override d_aragon's title history file. I've now fixed it in the queued rapid release candidate of SWMH for patch 2.3.

Have you made sure to make HIP a dependency in your moddir file?

Why the names of some cities are called with the English name (e.g. Constantinople instead of Konstantinoupolis) ?

Obviously I have enabled the native localisation
Its still vanilla names for a lot of the ERE since most hasn't been overhauled yet in the 2.54. King is overhauling it for the eastwards expansion so vanilla naming shouldn't be an issue when that hits.

Hey guys I have a few questions. I´m quite new here so please excuse me if I ask something terribly obvious.

As I understand the winter mechanic isn´t added to this mod yet. What is the problem and will it be done sometime in the future.

Another thing that is really bothering me is how the Croatian shoreline is depicted in this mod. I like to play as Croatia and everytime I see it I ask myself "How did they manage to get it that wrong?".

Short summary

Along the coast everything is a bit switched up.

Spalathos, or Split as it is later called is too much in the south.

What is called Diadora (later Zadar) should be Spalathos. (Just look up where the city of Split is IRL)
Senj should be Diadora
Veglia should be Senj
If you want to have Veglia then it needs to take away a piece of Istria (look at the map http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gespans...e-Gorski_kotar ) since it is historically quite small it can be droped altogether
What is now called Spalathos should be Omis or Republic of Poljica I suggest Omis because due to its pirates it had far more political influence. Afetr all they managed to get two crusades waged against them....
The cities inside those lands need to be adjusted too.

So in the end you would have from north to south:

Istria
Senj
Zadar
Split
Omis
Dubrovnik

I´m originally from Split, I speak Croatian and know much about the history of that region. How can I help to get the correct stuff into the game?

That sounds weird to say the least:blink:.
Please post a screenshot of what you are getting in game, I can't for the world of me understand how you would end up with an ingame setup like you describe when using swmh.
This is what you should be getting with the current swmh turned on.

We will add the underlying mechanic since its used for other purposes, but the graphical snow effect won't be added unless EOOQE makes a version of it for NBRT+ the vanilla effect looks terrible.

Now you have me confused to no end..... Dafuq am I seeing in my game? Two possibilities, either I´m accidentally on a very old version or I accidentally installed another mod on top of this....

Either way, what I´m seeing in your screen looks perfect. I appologize for any inconvenience. My offer still stands, If you need some help with research or something like that don´t be afraid to ask.
I´ll now reinstall my game and redownload the latest version.

Some nation colours should be changed (such as the one of the Almohad Empire) because are very similar between each other (The colour of Leon is almost the same)
I guess your are right, will make a review of the the colors once the eastern expansion is in beta.

Found this awesome guy http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buraq_Hajib, want to see him in new version. Which is my excuse to ask how things are going. I remember ETA was said to be announced in December.
Yay Khitan, he ought to be in for sure^^.
Lots of stuff left to do sadly, we aim to have the work wrapped up by the end of February, but that still means a release won't be before sometime March :(
Character and title history is by far the biggest remaining hurdle, but there is some graphical stuff like flags(roughly half has been drawn, hopefully two thirds can be done by Monday), the normal map and mapframe that also needs to be addressed.

Thanks^^ Will be sure to ask, definatly got some question for characters in the Balkans.
We just got to get the eastern expansion further before I can look at the Balkans again, we got a fairly large backlog of different projects that needs to get wrapped up first.

The current version of NBRT+ for HIP actually has snow shaders and such (just aren't used currently for SWMH due to everything being classified as temperate for the time being), and the animation is a bit different than vanilla.

So now that we're going to have Uyghurs, are the Eretnids going to be Uyghur-cultured?
Frankly, I never know how to deal with this kind of dynasties' cultures.

There are many dynasties of Turkish/other origin across the Middle East which sometimes kept their original name, sometimes have changed it, and their identity was very complex.
If I were in charge of this, I would not make them Uyghur, because while having Uyghur origin, those dynasties were usually kind of acultured with majority of other similar dynasties.
But this is rather delicate situation. According to the way I designed a Turkic cultural melting pots, they should most probably be (or become soon) Turkish like other Anatolian Turkish dynasties and not remain culturaly Uyghur. But my work on this has not been finished and I don't know if I will be able to ever finnish it, so I can't say how will it be in the end.

Found this awesome guy http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buraq_Hajib, want to see him in new version.
The Qutlugh Khanids were very interesting dynasty as a whole and researching their history was fun even though I don't really like the Mongol and post-Mongol period in Persia (that awful steep decline in almost every aspect of its society).
OTOH, though I don't think I have transformed the research into game's history files and I won't be able to do so by the end of february, if ever, so it will most probably be the task for the rest of the team and I am sure they will do the job wel, as usualy.

So now that we're going to have Uyghurs, are the Eretnids going to be Uyghur-cultured?

I am aware of the origins of most of the Turkish dynasties in my area, but i haven't decided anything on their original Steppe cultures to be honest. If they are to get their original steppe cultures it is definetely certain that i need to implement a Cultural melting pot where Turkish nomad cultures owning Greek provinces will kick off conversions of both characters and provinces

Because while the Eretnids was of Uyghur origin and the Germiyanids and the Ottomans were of Oghuz origin they certainly didn't retain their nomad ways and their Steppe culture after a generation in Anatolia.

A quick question about SWMH. I have read about dynamic naming in the landed_titles/ txt files. How are those values used in‑game (what makes it “dynamic?”), and how does this differ from the use of the values in the localisation/ csv files?

Thanks
