The Welsh culture localisation is pretty bad right now (it shouldn't have the preposition "o" as in "Tywysogaeth o Cymru" but rather "Tywysogaeth Cymru"), and I think it still has Irish titles thrown in as well for some reason. I think I mentioned it before but it never got fixed. Also, Tywysog (Prince) and Tywysogaeth (Principality) should be the title for a Welsh king/kingdom level title, I believe the last time I played it was "king/kingdom".
The localization of several Finno-Ugric cultures aren't capitalized (the culture names themselves). Off the top of my head, the Ingrians, Karelians, and Maris aren't capitalized like other cultures (English localization).

Is the Map expansion really gonna take until easter to complete ?
Hopefully not, but we haven't got an ETA yet. If I had to make a guess right now of when the version would be ready to ship, it would be sometime February, but its just a personal guess and we are as always at the mercy of RL. We will try to provide a real ETA later in December, we can't promise more atm. We also got to factor in sufficient time, after we got an internal beta ready, for the other HIP mods to adapt and take advantage of the new setup. Not much point in a release of the new swmh version without NBRT+ having had enough time to update for example.

What is left to be done? Eastern map and history look complete from the dev diaries. ERE was the last part of the map where vanilla dominated but that has been fixed. Are you planing on adding other things? Maybe split some absurd cultures like german and hellenic. Also having so many manichean screams for them being featured as a religion of its own(mazdan group). Maybe add yazidis. Having them as a muslim heresy kills the "historicity" aspect for me.

Nope you haven't yet seen all the areas that are being overhauled for this version. And yes further cultural work is also underway, as for the Germans there will be some news about them before long.

Probably character and title history files. Research takes a lot of time and implementing it is a very time-consuming task.

Also a bunch of graphical work to do once the rest is sorted out; the normalmap needs to be adapted to the new projection, terrain and colormap needs a bit more work, and a couple of hundred flags needs to be drawn.

Hi, I'd like to (hesitantly) propose a change to the ruler of Beirut in early dates up to 1110. While I can't find a better source than wikipedia, it seems that the Arslan family, current powerful Emirs in Lebanon, claim to be descended from the Lakhmids and to have ruled Beirut from 634-1110, under various rulers. While the truth of the statement may be just a story to gain political traction (they were instrumental in the modern independence movement and have been important in politics since then), it is certainly more interesting in those dates that have Beirut ruled directly by a liege already over his demesne limit, or a no-dynasty ruler (unless that ruler's first name is attested to, in which case maybe just have his last name be Arslan?)

Note that SWMH doesn't modify religion stuff like that. [See EMF or the upcoming VIET Immersion reintroduction for a more extreme version of that.] The culture splits, though, yeah. theKing can correct me upon this, but I don't think hellenic culture is getting any split any time soon. However, as mentioned not long ago in this thread, we've had a tentative Deutsch culture split actually done since April. However, the HRE region is also being overhauled, and we initially thought the Asian expansion would take a fraction of the time it has or will ultimately take, so we've held off on releasing that for now.

This indeed takes huge amount of time and I have almost no free time for modding now and it won't get better until mid february.

But why does the mod has generic pagan in eastern africa? That's kinda silly.
Yes, it is.
So what do you suggest? Having them as West African pagan seems even more silly to me. Having them as Christians, Jews or Muslims is even worse. So, what can we do when - as it shuold be welll known - SWMH doesn't add new religions?

The Greek Culture during the Byzantine period wasn't really all that regional, like the Italian cultures throughout the entire period or the German cultures throughout at least the opening 200-300 years from 867. So it would be pretty counterintuitive, considering the goal of SWMH, to split up the Greek culture up along regional lines that didn't really exist.

It would be fun to include more Vlach cultured provinces, but the records are very murky about whether they constitued majorities anywhere but in the Thessaly duchy (now know as Megale Vlachia). But really besides the three big monolothic cultures that dominate my area (Armenian, Greek and Turkish) the only cultural diversity was really on what would correspond to a barony level in the game.

And you will get that religion and many more changes to the religious setup, if you use VIET. But we strive to keep things as modular as possible. And to improve compatibility between SWMH, and VIET in particular, we decided very early on that we would not alter the existing religions and their setup in any way.

If you have suggestions about increasing or decreasing the number of provinces that has a certain religion we can easily do that. But adding new religions or moving religions to other religious groups is not really our focus. That's VIET's focus

The Greek Culture during the Byzantine period wasn't really all that regional, like the Italian cultures throughout the entire period or the German cultures throughout at least the opening 200-300 years from 867. So it would be pretty counterintuitive, considering the goal of SWMH, to split up the Greek culture up along regional lines that didn't really exist.

It would be fun to include more Vlach cultured provinces, but the records are very murky about whether they constitued majorities anywhere but in the Thessaly duchy (now know as Megale Vlachia). But really besides the three big monolothic cultures that dominate my area (Armenian, Greek and Turkish) the only cultural diversity was really on what would correspond to a barony level in the game.

One might argue that the reason for that cultural homogeneity is simply an earlier result of the same process that eventually promoted the pseudo-unification of Deutsch within HRE territories in the 13th century: the continued existence of a big-ass, unified, established, safe realm. Realm borders are natural melting pots, and the ERE's core territory remained the ERE for a very, very long time.

So no chance of using the religions of viet with the SWMH map? That's a pity. At least rename west african to african or sahelian and get rid of generic pagan in the east.

Not on SWMH alone. But VIET immersion is being re-introduced and it will be compatible with SWMH when OrdeP and Cybr finishes their work. So if you can be a bit patient then you will get to use all of their changes on the SWMH map.

Is there a way to play "tribeless" version of SWMH? I wanted to play Russian game, but the state of Russia post-CM patch is depressing.
Surely all you need to do is open all the province history files which have tribal holdings and then use the find and replace function?
