Hey guys,

I noticed that the setup of the duchy of Khiva in east Persia does not include the county of Khiva. I also thought that in general Persia could use a rework, too.

Cheers
Persia and Central Asia are among the last few regions, which were not reworked yet. And I am really looking foreaard to doing it

I have a lot of very good maps of both of those places from scholarly sources, if you wish to have them for reference.

Thanks!

Even though I do have plenty and very detailed (for instance Historical atlas of Islam and Fársí/English Atlas of Persian history), but there's never enough maps.
Would you send me those via PM please?

I now want to report something completely different;). I noticed that two different baronies in the county of Lancaster had the same Norman name, both b_preston and b_penworthham are named "Prestune" in Norman. A quick search got me, Penverdent as the name under which Penwortham (b_penworthham) was listed in the Domesday Book. IMHO Penverdent might be a good alternative as the Norman name for b_penworthham.

BTW looking forward to an overhaul of the Persian region. :)

There doesn't seem to be any d_sunni or d_shiite in the landed_titles files. You seem to have replaced them with king-tier titles, but that means there is no Sunni Caliph at game start (1066)!

Just wondering, what is the reason with making those king-tier? I personally think that the way vanilla handles them (duchy-tier) works just fine.

You are right it should be 1. Berber (if you use Cybr's CPR mod), 2. African (if you own African portraits DLC), 3. muslim (if you play pure vanilla without african portraits).

I noticed this when playing the game with Culture portraits revamp, that there are things to be fixed, I will report it to Cybr.
But generaly, the mod itself is meant as a base as close to vanilla as possible so people can play it with those mods they like. Therefore I prefered to presume that the player may not own all DLCs.

There doesn't seem to be any d_sunni or d_shiite in the landed_titles files. You seem to have replaced them with king-tier titles, but that means there is no Sunni Caliph at game start (1066)!

It was planned to make Fatimids little harder to play. But you are right, I forgot to fix the sunnis, so that should be fixed.

PS: @everyone If I may ask you to post screenshots of Africa (especially the East) from your games. I really wonder how the Christians and Pagans there are able to withstand the muslim expansion. I will try to keep my PM box clean so you can do it there :)

If someone knows, I would like to know which areas are still not overhauled? Greece and especially western Anatolia could use some love. Western anatolia was a rich and densely populated area. The theater of many wars, it served not only as the base of Byzantine power for much of the early game but as the heartland of the Larkarid empire, the home of dozens of principalities/beyliks and later on as the starting point of the Ottoman dynasty. Seeing how it looks now and comparing it with nearby Italy is very jarring.
All in all this map is beautiful, I love the attention of detail given to the west. As well as the changes in the Sahara. I can't wait to see the entire map overhauled.

Are you guys planning to gather all those smaller or bigger fixes and make a "patch" to 2.85 or will rather wait with them until new major version of the mod?

Karelian, Mari, Vepsian and Ingrian does not appear in the cultures.txt of Speak English, so they are not capitalized in the game.

Western Anatolia have not been overhauled yet. Neither has the Steppes to the south and east of the rus, Persia, Mesopotamia, Central Asia, parts of Arabia, Abyssinia and Somalia.

In my current game the Fatimids has devoured most of Eastern Africa through invasions by 1140, Elvain, i'll start another observer game tomorrow.

Are you guys planning to gather all those smaller or bigger fixes and make a "patch" to 2.85 or will rather wait with them until new major version of the mod?
a patch is planned, but now it seems that most of the team is pretty busy in RL so it might take time...
for now, there is only a small localisation hotfix:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/x6rcsrqox1spfv1/localisation_fix.zip
Karelian, Mari, Vepsian and Ingrian does not appear in the cultures.txt of Speak English, so they are not capitalized in the game.

Duchy of Alwahat, in Egypt, not localized.
The Speak English Damnit! submod needs update, but the answer is the same as above. The d_alwahat is fixed in the hotfix, but not for Speak English.

In my current game the Fatimids has devoured most of Eastern Africa through invasions by 1140, Elvain, i'll start another observer game tomorrow.
Thanks for the info! Though it does not please me much.. but I hope the resistence of Christians will improve after Ethiopian overhaul...
I have, after pretty long time found some time to actually play and in 867 start Ethiopia has more problems with Yemenites and Beja Pagans than with Egypt, which is in constant revolt against the Abbasids who gained it. Nubia converted to Monophysite christianity and is united. That is in the 950's... while the (damned) Umayyads managed to gain Mauretania in anti-ibadi jihad against my liege, Rustamid king of Tiaret, Ifrikiya and (formerly) Mauritania. I feared that he might become emperor sooner than I become a king somewhere (Fezzan or Songhay).

A question : given the issues with the latest patches (drastically reduced levies and other bugs) is this SWMH 2.85 also compatible with patch 1.11 ? Is there an easy way to mod incompatibilities away (or even the patch problems?).
