Do I need to research the Coalition tech to get the events to form the federation ?

edit: I'm now in a coalition with Vulcans, Andorians and Tellerite (initiated by the Vulcans I believe; I haven't researched coalitions yet)

The Onlies look a bit different from what I remember. Nice to see Miri's planet is actually a duplicate of Earth though! You spelled Ophiucus wrong though.

Some balancing is probably needed for the UFP. I jumped from +3 energy to -24 because of the new planets I got.

edit: The Benzarians want to be allied with me. Is there an option for them to become Federation members ?

Loving the mod. However just a quick question. When the United Federation of Planets is formed after the coalition. Are you supposed to gain control of all the planets for buildings etc, Ships and technology. It's seems like that's how it should be however that hasn't happened.

You gain control over every colony and outpost, but not the homeworlds which are then placed into a "Member World" category. Don't think we're 100% wedded to this setup, but it seemed like a good way to be able to balance and prevent the Federation from being too strong in early game.

We're actively looking at:

1) Preventing Member Worlds from building more outposts
2) Reducing Member Worlds borders *waaay* down
3) Allowing more options for *who* forms The Federation - e.g. 3/4ths of original founders, or perhaps substituting nearby suitable races for some founders.

I may be going blind, here, but what's wrong with the spelling of Ophiucus? It's the Star Trek name for 38 Ophiuchi, but there's no second H in the spelling. Or are you referring to something else?

Also the coalition fleet is lost when the Federation is formed. I'm not convinced by Stellaris' built-in federation fleet feature. I wonder if it can be turned off completely or if the ships of the coalition fleet can be transferred to the Federation Founder.

TBH, I think the better way to do the Federation event would be to outright annex all the members, and just force the federation to use the Allow All Species as leaders law or whatever, so you can have alien leaders/presidents.

But I have no idea if that is possible.

Look at the bottom of my screenshot, it says '70 Ophiuchi', not Ophiucus, which is how it is spelled on Memory-Beta.

Another name correction/suggestion:

Dewa III should not be named Mol'Rihan from the start. Mol'Rihan means 'New Romulus' in Romulan, which is what it was renamed to in 25th Century in STO after the Romulan Republic colonized it.
