Game the mod a go and its looks good.I don't agree with a lot of the faction traits and ethos like Androrians being pacifist,ect.

I sort of feel the humanoid centric galaxy is a bit jarring.I think it needs more alien aliens included.

some things like pacifist andorians have to be that way for a while due to how federation mechanics work

Andorians will be getting better traits soon, and we'll use other modifiers to make them more likely to ally with the Federation Founders.

We're open to including any alien species that's been shown on Trek, but at the same time we're not going to go against the look and feel of the show by adding too many non-Humanoids. Tholians, Sheliak, Horta... can't really think of any others that would fit! And two of those are already in.

do you think it would be worth shrinking starting empire borders and planet extrusion values? so as to make it much harder to blob.

I had the "Thomas Riker" event fire for my Klingon Captain Kor. I chose the correct path and ended up with Kor II joining my leader pool. Excitedly, I open my leader tab to check out Kor II's stats. To my surprise, I now had a Klingon Captain named Riker?!? To pay homage to the TNG episode, I renamed R'ker.


I have just located the Hur'q..........I am building up the Revenge Fleet now. As we all know, Revenge is a dish best serve cold. 1000 years cold!

Here's the mk 4 reactor bug I was on about on the Steam forums. As you can see it's always greyed out as it's "Large Civilian Reactor", I presume from the trade mod.

Loved the silent enemy event. Very thematic.

Some bugs/strangeness I noticed:

- Like a poster earlier on this page, after the 0.7 patch some ships, specifically for me the Romulan cruiser had a bunch of coloured boxes as its front. After deleting the mod and reinstalling this was fixed.
- Several star systems to the south/south-west of Romulan space have no name.
- Old weapon technologies still show up in the research screen, just with a blank description, so I assume the AI will still waste time researching them.
- AI's don't seem to invade planets. The Klingon Empire declared war on the Gorn and just endlessly bombed all their planets until all the pops were gone and the Gorn surrendered. Very dishonourable!

- For the racial traits, would it be possible to give the major powers more traits so they become more canon? For example the Romulans and Vulcans should both have the strong and enduring traits in addition to the traits they already have.

I got this flying around in a death test entity event. I got the event three times and the ship was always destroyed. yeah doy but I wanted to try it again and restarted five times now already but the event doesn't fire anymore ???

edit: And are the planet one gets completely random? In 0.6 I had alot of planets as the United Earth now I have three. Did you change that ?

Which map are you playing: random; original static map; or alternative static map?

Whats the difference ?
(I must have played origional) I didn't change anything
Oh and there is the instruction to delete zips like this one: Delete local newhorizons.zip in *\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\workshop\content\281990\688086068
the folder is empty

The second map is at the bottom of the list. It has a bit more lore, more named stars, more system intializers and prewarp species in canon systems. The starting position is randomised a little, so sometimes you'll get a better start than others. You'll see different prewarp species each game too.

I think we may have reduced the number of colonizable planets in the original map in the vicinity of Sol, although I don't think the change was substantial. However, there should be more colonizable systems in the alternative map. Give it a try.

Ah I see. Thanks. But I have to say that the number of colonzable planets was reduced significantly. In 0.6 I had 5 or 6 (all pretty big) colo planets in my starting zone (4 in Alpha Centauri alone;: all size 16) and now I had one planet in Alpha Centauri which was also very small.

Yes, Alpha Centauri was tuned down substantially in the original map. I think there was a worry that the map was giving too many good starting planets to United Earth. I'm sure we'll look at the balance of it to see if it needs retweaking, but in the meantime the other map may give you what you need.
