For the religion issue, I was poking through your files and noticed that two things present in vanilla religions after patch 2.0 - the parameters of "evil_god_names" and "priest_title" - are absent. Perhaps that's causing the game to not read the religions correctly? If that's true, it may impact the norrgods event chain if the religion is used somewhere in the events, though I can't see any instances of that.

Hope this helps! This is a fun mod, and while trying to create my own fantasy mod for eventual release has filled up the time somewhat, I'd love to see this up-to-date and playable again :) Tangentially, the comic is great, too.

Yeah but not all the religions have those parameters. Wouldn't really be necessary anyway since those are just sort of flavor/localization stuff. :/

It's really mysterious, the religion provinces bug and I haven't yet figured out what the heck is up with all of that.

It's a bug with the EOF of the province history files; just add a commentary at the end of every affected province history, it can be literally anything like for example "#end". It's something really odd happening with the parser.

I'm now slogging through the province history files and implementing DarkReborn's suggestion. Sort of repetitive... Still, I ran the Validator on the mod files, and I discovered that, for example, the "Nahuatl" culture was duplicated between "sonendar_cultures" and Sonendar's copy of "00_cultures". I commented out the latter one. I also found multiple references to "catholic", "norse_pagan", "christian_group", and so on. I haven't gone through to fix everything, but...

I'll run the Validator on the Norrgods events and see what I come up with.

Validator found nothing on the Norrgods events. In other words, I haven't the faintest idea how to fix it.

Playtest reveals that some events (pregnancy and birth alert, grand tournament, etc.) do not show up when they are supposed to. Many other events are unaffected.

Casus belli mechanisms seem to be broken. For example: de jure claim wars aren't allowed, holy wars are non-existent, etc.

Still, it is sort of working; province religions are back.

I conceived of Sonendar as being a place that's fairly open to multiculturalism/diverse religions, simply out of the fact that all of the religions (except for the Imperial bureaucracy) are fairly paganistic and polytheistic. Also, because of the small size, allowing holy wars would make blobs too easy to form. De jure claims ... should be fixed!!

Do you get a blank events bug a few days into the game?

No, no blank events. Lots of nonexistent ones, though. And the problem with de jure claims is that the casus belli seems to be missing.

That might be due to loose baronies. You need to check and see if one of the barons isn't independent or has somehow become a vassal to someone else. The "Mandate of Heaven" decision is basically copy-pasted directly from the LoR decision to restore the Roman Empire, which, IIRC, can be very finicky with regards to baronies.

Don't have any de jure wars available (and I used the restore empire claim during a civil war and got everything)Map says I own the whole empire/kingdoms, but still...
