Hey, just noticed this mod really and it's quite an interesting set of changes! I'll give it a go, it would seem more appropiate to put it in the major overhaul category on the mod list no?

You can if you like, knuckey -- I think you had it in the balance section before. Try it and let me know what you think anyway. :)

So bad I'm noticing it only now, it's an excellent work Sleight of Hand. A question: how did you manage to strengthen the baltic pagans?

Thanks a lot. :)

To help out the Baltic Pagans I gave the Romuva religion provinces full level one building lists (like Normandy has), including Warrior Cults which I've also buffed by making them produce a lot more troops:

Code:
		build_cost = 10
		build_time = 60
		light_infantry = 600
		heavy_infantry = 200
		archers = 200
		ai_creation_factor = 300 #AI should always build this if it can

That's the current Warrior Cult setup as of 0.8c -- currently I'm re-doing a lot of duchy/kingdom colors and trying to figure out how to stop playable realms becoming Open Elective.

Glad you're enjoying the mod. Stick with it. :D

You have a PM! ;)

Edit: And I've just been promoted to "captain" - anybody knows how / whether it's possible to change the title below the avatar?

I don't think the forum titles do anything, no. I replied to your PM, but I had to send it in two parts because of the character limit. I hope you have enough room in your inbox because I don't save sent messages so I would have lost them. :eek:o

Version 0.8c is up. :)

Code:
SoH 0.8c - 05/15/12

- Updated to version 6b of Shaytana's Better Looking Characters Mod.
- Updated to version 1.4 of Syren's Culture Buildings Mod (Liege+County version).
- Removed Prince of Wales and Dauphin of France as honorary titles as neither trigger was working correctly.
- Added better king and emperor-tier titles for Bulgarian, Serbian and Rus' rulers.
- Added better baron, count, duke and king-tier titles for Greek rulers.
- Added better baron and count-tier titles for North Germanic rulers.
- Added better count-tier titles for Gaelic rulers.
- Lowered the MTTH for the spread of English and Scots culture.
- Moved the duchy of Hereford back to the de jure kingdom of Wales.
- 'Promoted' the Great Seljuk Empire and Ottoman Empire to proper titular empires.
- 'Demoted' the Kalmar Union to a titular empire.
- Re-added Galicia as a de jure kingdom consisting of the de jure duchies of Galicia and Asturias.
- Swapped Mauretania and Andalusia so that the latter is now a titular kingdom instead.
- Added, corrected and linked up a large number of names in cultures.txt
- Fixed a few more 1.05e bugs reported in the bug forum.
- Tweaked the male patronyms for Anglo-Saxon and Scots characters.
- Added Harald Hårdråde's claim on the kingdom of Denmark.
- Changed a few duchy colors.

Just a few tweaks, fixes and I've updated to the latest versions of a couple of mods I use.

The plan for 0.9 is to completely re-do all duchy/kingdom/empire color schemes across the map.

Hey SoH, would you mind if I used the parts of your mod concerning the Gaelic and Scots melting pots, and the historical fixes you made about the area in a more general scope? I know it's not so nice to ask because you probably put tons of time into it and I don't wanna steal or exploit any of your work of course, but in the same time I feel like I could never do a better job about it myself, so I'm humbly asking you for permission. You'll be credited obviously and I'll link your mod in the main thread of mine as well as your name in the credits (I'll specify which parts I took from it as well). Thanks :)

Sure. :)

EDIT: I should point out that the plan was/is (as I stated in the separate Gaelic culture thread) to make a separate mini-mod for vanilla CK II adding my improved Gaelic culture setup and Scots/Gaelic divided character history files. If your mod is a more general mod and you just wish to use this work then that's fine -- so long as you credit me/my mod accordingly as you say, but if you're wanting to make a Gaelic culture mini-mod then I should point out that one is already in the works.

Just so you know.

Thanks.

I've got a little suggestion if you're open to that.

- Rename the temple of "Alvesta" (in county of småland) to "Växjö".

Motives: Alvesta was founded in the late 19th, possibly 20th, century because of the railroad going though the area. Växjö is one, of thirteen, episcopal see founded in late 12th century and it's about 10 km away from Alvesta today I believe. If this is a historical correcting mod, this is relevant. There is a more historical correct coat of arms as well, but I imagine that is too much work for such a small thing. If you would add it to the history.text I could give you some correct dates as well. Also if you want to add more historical names for the temples/episcopal see of Sweden, I would be glad to provide with whatever information I can.

There is also some missing daughters and spouses in "Rurikovich dynasty", one is "Wyszesława", daughter of Sviatoslav Yaroslavovich, which marries Boleslaw II the bold (King of Poland from 1066 in game). The fact that the Rurik dynasty is called "Rurikovich Dynasty" in CK2 is also kind of a deal for some.

A good update, but is it me or are you uncertain, what to do with the duchy of Hereford, since it seems to go back and forth between England and Wales. :)

Hey, anyone playing with SoH is noticing the ERE and the HRE switching to open elective (i.e. republic-type succession) somewhat at random?

I have a suspect, that it is due to the line

primary=yes

in the landed_titles.txt file, although I have only tested it for one game by removing the line for the ERE only, and the issue is not reproduced in that game for the ERE but yes for the HRE.

It's staying in Wales -- I only moved it back to England in a previous version to balance Cornwall being given its own kingdom.

Interesting find. I'll take a look.

I can confirm I've not experienced the issue any longer after the two lines were removed. I'm wondering why, or whether it's just 'spurious correlation'.

I saw this post in another thread.

That's awesome. Linked as well, nice. :)

I wonder if there are any Cornish characters who should be in the game. It's not really worth being its own culture because it's so small so I just use Breton to represent them but I don't know if there were any Cornish earls/bishops who should be added. I don't think there is a single Cornish character in vanilla CK II (and Paradox make them Welsh) but I've added Cadoc as the first earl (1066 - 1068) though I accept he's of dubious historicity.

Here is Cadoc and his relatives.

Hey thanks buddy -- where did you get those from? Are they being added in 1.06? I think Cadoc should be earl of Cornwall for a couple of years before Brian of Brittany.
