Somehow this mod excaped me and i was only able to find it now, in regards to bookmarks the fall of the western roman empire would be good and after that I would suggest the reign of theodoric the great also on yuo're request for the hunnic empire map i was also unable to find anything for 400ad so i guess yuo're gonna have to do a lot of guess work on the borders, also if yuo need any help with coding and such I can lend a hand.

Surely the best way to model the Hunnic empire in 400ad is to look at where the Roman Empire extended to (there are many maps of Rome in 400ad) and then assume that anything North-East of that is Hun territory (provided it seems reasonable looking at the 450ad Hun map)?

Thank you for showing interest in my work, and offering to help!

If there's something I would love to get from you guys, then it is more historical research, like you d345f offered.

Something that would be great to escape doing (hehe.. :D), is reseachering all the cultures that were in europe during this time, aswell all the different religions. This would save me alot of time, allowing me to work on the mod instead.

I also need help with the dynasty name of Attila and he's family, as I cannot find any information about it.. (Perhaps use the name of he's familys tribe, which I also cannot find..)

I'm currently working on creating the hunnic empire and the familiy tree for the important persons in this empire, such as Attila the Hun. I hope to be able to post a screenshot of the empire in the upcoming days!

Yea, I think I've got an idea of how the Hunnic Empire will look like in the 395AD start of the mod.
But in this tíme the Hunnic Empire wasn't really formen, it consisted of different tribes, each with it's own king. But since I'm having alot of problems finding any information about these (not even a single tribe name), the Hunnic Empire will start united. I will tho compensate this with something els, like perhaps some negativ effects, untill the empire actually should be united under one rule.

Update!

I Just wanted to tell you guys that there's a big chance that the mod will be released before the current release date of Q2-Q3 2013.

The mod is coming along in high-speed, and therefore the changed release date.

I've just added many new kingdoms which is not in any of the screenshots on the first page, such as:

I am pretty sure that the Romans have plenty on their hands if most factions are unchanged. Considering how large the Diocese vassals are, you don't want any revolts as the Romans.

I am pretty sure that the Romans have plenty on their hands if most factions are unchanged. Considering how large the Diocese vassals are, you don't want any revolts as the Romans.

It weren't revolts that crushed Empire- at this point only Majorian and Stilichon (who wasn't even emperor!) were competent rulers (I'd even say that very competent). Yeah, there were usurpations, but not yet in 395 (rather in last 40 years). Also, Rome was despotic empire, so factions should be reworked for this mod (as well as vassals).

Military, Church, Provincial and Senatorial perhaps, like in CK2+, if Factions can be specified to only be in certain cultures or titles.

I know that Crown Law Systems can change based upon culture, perhaps a Roman Crown Law system that allows for Ducal Revokes at all but the Minimum.

The whole migrations thing might be difficult, maybe make a decision or event that gives a province independence in return for troops ( dunno if the AI would do it though.)

How will You make Rome weak? You know- at 395 it was still huge and strongly populated empire with standing army. I hope that You won't send doomstacks from east against them...
The western roman empire will be weak in the start and face many challenges. You'll need to be a skilled player to survive, that I can promise.

Regardning standing armies, thats a harder one. What I wanted to do, was to replace the Holy Order tab with a legion tab, but I'm not sure it is possible, since holy orders ain't modable. (Tips & ideas here are most welcome)


I am pretty sure that the Romans have plenty on their hands if most factions are unchanged. Considering how large the Diocese vassals are, you don't want any revolts as the Romans.
Revolts from the dioceses are nothing you'll need to worry about when playing as one of the roman empires.

Military, Church, Provincial and Senatorial perhaps, like in CK2+, if Factions can be specified to only be in certain cultures or titles.

I know that Crown Law Systems can change based upon culture, perhaps a Roman Crown Law system that allows for Ducal Revokes at all but the Minimum.

The whole migrations thing might be difficult, maybe make a decision or event that gives a province independence in return for troops ( dunno if the AI would do it though.)

The laws will & are changed. And the migration will most likley be represented in events.

As far as I know in Prince&Thane mod, player can even create new holy orders. So it seems that they're moddable ;)

Personally I think retinues would be better than mercs or holy orders.

But retinues are unbalanced- You can keep them as long as You wish, paying for no maintenance, and if You lose 1 soldier from every squad of soldiers, You pay huge amounts of money to restore them to previous condition. I'd prefer customizable-by decisions- legions instead (with possibility to restore forces of ancient Rome- 5000 soldiers/legion, Lorica segmentata instead of chain mails and so on). Also, Holy Orders will have no real use for this mod, so changing their purpose is quite good idea.

Yea, they are creatable, but the thing you can't do is change the attack conditions, for example, you can't attack someone that is christian.


And when it comes to reinues, that would require those who want to play this mod, to buy the DLC that's required. ..I'll have to think about this, since it's an important question, that need to be as good as it can be.

And to use those mercs we would have to settle them somewhere in empire first (I'm sending them to Britain!). That'd be good idea, showing how hard pressed RE was.

@Yazem- is that really a problem? Barbarians were pagans at first, later- heretics. Can't orders fight heretics?
You could also ask devs for adding possibility to mod orders- they agreed on letting women lead troops, why not this?

I'm not sure if you can link mercs to a certain title, such as say XI legion to Britannia and if you lose Britain you lose the Legion. It would be nice though.

I think retinues are better simply because they allow both the provincial and Imperial forces to be modeled. If a merc is a vassal of your vassal you cannot use them, and if your vassal loses the vassalage of the merc group then anyone can hire them.
