The King of Gaya, Suro, is legendary... I do not believe he lived that long, but Korean records stipulate the legendary lifespan. Much of early Korean history is mystical and based off oral tradition, only put to writing many centuries later. Japan is like this too. They didn't have a written history until the 8th-9th century, and then in the past two centuries, Japan has tried to reinforce the theme of an unbroken Imperial line since the beginning of time. Their historical records are completely fictional.

Administrators are playable. I used the theocracy icon. The Tianming government type is feudal.

I'm very interested in this mod, especially in any China mod in general because of a good experience with the Warring States mod a while back (I wish someone could update that). Just waiting for the next big 0.9 release.

Love the mod as well. Don't know much about the time period, but the new scenario is fantastic enough by itself.

Updated the game to be at least COMPATIBLE with 2.5.1.1. Should be playable again.

I have not made any adapted events/decisions changes to compensate for council/coalition features.
I have made some government/law changes to adapt to the dlc.
I realize that the era selection screen has western boys for character faces... I need to figure out DNA variables for everyone. Will do later.
The 2.5.1 series has several bugs. I have tried to correct some in the events/decisions files, but some may still persist. I await the next hotfix to resolve these.

@Anon90 - I can tell you it is definitely working with 2.5.1.1

I know not a lot of people are playing as the Yellow Turbans, but could you give the Tao faith some holy sites? Right now they're locked perpetually at 20 MA because of the lack of sites.

Tao definitely shouldn't get a religious head, but the Taoist subjugation CB localization needs to be rewritten so it doesn't mention a Caliph.

Edit: Also, why are the yellow turban event troops locked to raiding? These troops can be switched to not raiding through fiddling with troop combinations and splitting troops, but why is it like this at all?

RoTK 0.89d

Please check out the latest update. I apologize that I have been silent these past few weeks. I also apologize for not adding everything I wanted (thus why no 0.9 yet). I've simply been busy with school and relationships. I hope to finish more of what I've planned once summer comes (when I will have more free time).

Thank you for your patience and support!

@Nerdman3000 ,

I have no plans to add Japan now or in the future. If someone wants to create a submod, I will be happy to check it out.

The reason for my decision is because: at the outset, the map makers were firm on not wanting to include too much areas outside of scope (India, Japan, South Asia).

Also, historically speaking, Japan was a series of tribal peoples for much of the first millennium AD, far below the technological level of any polities currently represented in the game.

There's a great CK2 Japan mod already.

What about a southern expansion to Vietnam? Like Korea, it's heavily inside the Chinese sphere....

I will say it like this. The primary focus of this mod has always been China, and by extension, the territories closely linked to China. Any included states need to have a reasonable presence in politics/history from China's perspective.
  • Southern Vietnam (Champa) was an important piece of Vietnamese history, but had little impact on Chinese politics. I fully intend to incorporate various Vietnamese events in Southern China like Lady Trieu's revolt, and Khu Lien's raids in 248.

  • Japan (Wa) held an even lesser role in history, only paying tribute sporadically in Chinese historical records. I intend to include these random tribute encounters as well.

  • Korea (Samhan and Samguk), Manchuria (Goguryeo and Buyeo), Mongolia (Wuhuan, Xiongnu, Xianbei), and other tribal/nomadic peoples (Qiang, Di, Yue, Man) were all influential and present in contemporary Chinese politics.

  • One in-game faction that you could argue does not belong are the Kushan in Turpan. I included them mainly for decoration. As China retreated back from foreign aggression along its borders, the Kushan were seen as filling in the power vacuum in Central Asia, just as the Goguryeo and later Silla filled in Manchuria/Korea.
Prior to the mod's creation, many of the mod's supporters debated long and hard on who should be included and who shouldn't. At that time, we decided that the scope should be limited to those who greatly impacted Chinese affairs. I apologize if this excludes any countries or peoples you would like to be represented in game.

@Enriador ,
In terms of Vietnam, the Nanyue are precursors to modern Vietnamese people. I would argue that they represent (at least Northern) Vietnam in this time period. There are rulers playable throughout the current timeline that would allow you to form a Yue empire if you could overcome greater China.

Great to know that you intent to include Japan and Vietnam's interactions with China through events. I was afraid that they would get completely written off, but this seems like a good balance.
