Following the slight confusion after the last patch (1.102) over this topic, and this bug report in the Bug forum:

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...is-my-lover-quot-is-stopping-me-from-marrying

I think what i'd like to see worked out by modders is for us to return to an interfaith marriage system of some type. Assuming Paradox are not going to do it.

So what ideas do folks have on making this a possibility? I might have a go myself if more knowledgeable modders would guide me a bit! It seems the info is probably in the localisation folder, in the .csv files. In the bug thread i got the previously working 'Must not Marry an Infidel' message back to replace the new bugged 'Is my Lover' reason for not allowing a marriage.

So what other lines could be commented out or in to return to the ability for interfaith marriages. I think this was allowed in a previous version (1.09 something?), i definitely have played CKII(since buying it a month ago) with the ability to see Pagans and Muslims in the in-game bride finder as a Catholic ruler, now i just see Catholic or Orthodox bride suggestions, so it should be possible to reintroduce that and maybe more to allow proper cross faith marriages, maybe even develop the system a bit more and have proper negative factors that count against such marriages without a blanket ban as we currently have?

I'm thinking have the two rulers opinion of each other matter some, add some base not too harsh modifier for the different faith, and have that scale up with factors like if the char has abilities like 'Zealous', 'Holy warrior' etc?

Suggestions more than welcome as i probably can't do this all by myself :)

Commenting out the new "is my lover" localization line just replaced the text, it didn't actually change anything else. We can't change the diplomatic modifiers without paradox making them moddable first. I agree paradox should let us mod it, though. Why shouldn't christians and muslims or pagans be able to marry when there are historical examples that they did?

A tip: The localization files just determine the text that will be displayed in-game. If you actually want to change how the game works you have to look in the common/decisons/events folders.
