I hope you like it! Have fun! Next step will be the inclusion of the Saxon England map and 1066 setup before William the Conquerer! Please anyone tell me a modder that can perform the required changes to the RK1066 map.. I need anyone!

Ask Chatnoir.
The guy can make the game prepare coffee for you if he wants to. There ARE however guys who have changed the map though I don't know it's exactly what you mean. AFAIK they are listed in the "map" section of the main modding thread. You could ask them.

If I may ask for a little change, I think the Popes of the various religions are asking for Crusades quite too often.
Considering there's no real issue or penalty if you say you'll join without actually ever going there, I think the Pope(s) should ask much much less often. The fact you join a crusade immediately has your excomunnications lifted so it's a bit of a gamey cheap tactic to mess up with the game atmospheres... besides, historically... were there ever so many crusades and so often? I don't think so. Too many and too often. It feels like the Pope(s) call a new one as soon as the old one is over. Can you insert a minimal time period between crusades? Then need to accordingly tune down the requirements to excommunicate characters on behalf of other characters. That is dramatically bad when you are NOT crusading (90% of the times with these settings we have now) but it could work as it is if the crusades were not called so often as they are now.

Penalties for breaking truce or for attacking someone who's fighting against other religions should ALSO be increased. Not talking about the Prestige/Piety requirements but about the general opinion of the same religion rulers. That's another cheap trick... violate truce forsaking the penalties because they are too low. The hit in these cases should be HEAVY.

Secondly, I noticed one of my dynasty members (Spartenos of Napoli) had actually the wrong surname. The name is not important... you may call him "bob" but his surname was "Sergioson" and he obviously was the son of Sergio Spartenos. I'm sure you can find him. First time it happens and since Heraldry mod hasn't changed I guess something odd happened in the latest RK patches. :)

Good one, I am going to dl and install later on.

Szamovary already told me that he will check the Saxon England map and I pretty much sure that he will manage to include it :)

@GShock: Sorry I cannot mod that. Please ask GAGA or chatnoir to do it.

edit:
@GShock: I cannot find the guy you talk about. At the game start no Sergios Spartenos is supposed to have a son. Anyways, you say that his family name should be Sergioson instead of Spartenos? This is not possible. He will always have the family name of his dynasty which is Spartenos.

Your recommendation is very kind, but please don't overvalue me. About map modding, my skill is almost zero. In addition, I am working on other mods, so I am afraid that I can not have enough time for such a great changing of the map, while I could give some advices for this RK mod.

Well, I have one major thing that I would like to change. It is the fact that dukes attack prince bishops without being excommunicated. Excommunication was the atomic bomb of the middle ages and usually no one attacked a bishop. The problem that I have is that many prince bishops have their counties in de jure duchies of existing dukes. Thus, the dukes attack the the bishops and conquer their counties. Is there a possiblity that an event could be created which excommunicates any Christian ruler who attacks a bishop? And second, is it possible to script that dukes will not attack bishops due to the same reason?

I think Bishops were also attacked in the middle ages. Köln is a good example for that.

Beside this nitpick, I agree with you that weak bishops are problematic. I think (at least) Archbishops of Köln, Mainz and Trier should be one province Duchy to prevent being attacked, since they were the top three of the religious Lords in HRE.
I am not sure that there is a moddable excommunication effect, but if there was, making an event you have mentioned is not impossible, I guess.

Chat do you think you can mod the parameters I mentioned above?
(penalty for breaking truce in prestige/piety and opinion loss, frequency of crusades/jihads)

Mmmm This guy looks competent in mapmaking: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?595329-Deus-Vult-Europa-Divisa

That's a very good point on bishops Deserteur... I hope we find a way to mod that.

The guy I am talking about is Sergioson who's son of Sergio Spartenos (second son I suppose... after remarrying due to dead 1st wife) don't know how it happened, first time, might be a bug or a glitch in the DB.

Could you mod the file yourself and post it here? I will then add it to the mod, but I really do not know whom you mean as I do not see this person in the game.

Don't know if it just me or not but I downloaded this mod and in Wales I noticed some really weird names for counties. One county is called Mediterranean Sea and another is called Ligurian Sea with another called Lake Leman. Is it only me experiencing this or are others? This was the only mod I was running besides the official dynasty shields dlc.

Hm. Apparently des used my Cantrefi's normal localisation, and an unmodified lowlands one, rather than the integrated version of both. I didn't really make it clear that they needed to be changed, and it's a simple enough fix. A fix has been sent.

I don't know about the opinion penalty, but the prestige/piety penalty is defined in the defines.lua.

Happy to see you guys found the Mediterranean sea, I couldn't... but I found the Nile Delta. Anyone needs? :)

Anyway, Deserteur, I am officially proposing to double the required Pr/Pi/Op expenses when violating truce and when attacking someone defending your faith. In any case, nobody wants a troublesome neighbor or ruler. Regardless of the opinion, the Offensive war penalty should ALSO be doubled (IIRC it should be BGA stuff here).

Also... I think I already mentioned, it's hard for the AI to make ANY plot succeed if the player almost always finds out in advance. Something's wrong with this concept. You don't get to change much of who you are but you do with heirs through traits, guardians and choices during the game. If it's too easy at start, as the game progresses it becomes easier and easier until you have literally your vassals at your mercy because all you need is to wait for someone who's hostile to you to plot. Your spy will find out and you can lock in the dungeon and gain free titles/money. I think this should be addressed ASAP.

I have modified these values and included Ijtzoi's fixes. I will probably upload a new version later today.

The mod is now giving an EXCELLENT feeling with diplomacy and character behavior.

As you can see from this SS, it takes but one hostile vassal (Lecce in my case) and an ongoing crusade you haven't joined to easily have you excommunicated with the results you can see, total civil war. It is appropriate that they rebel one after the other but it's still too easy to have you excommunicated when there's ALWAYS an ongoing crusade present.

This forces you to join the crusade even though you will never really fight the arabs and it's rather gamey, not to mention that so many crusades are ahistorical, totally.

I think we need to find out ASAP how to reduce the frequency of Crusades while increasing the requirements to have someone excommunicated should be beefed up. That should solve this problem once and for all.

Be advised we have a game-breaker: Culture just changed (no mentioning of WHERE and this might be the problem) and there's no button in the scroll. No way to move on, the only solution here is resignation. Something about the "spreading of culture via ports" mod perhaps (I do own part of sicily so possibly this could also be related to "an offer you can't refuse"), I do not know but it's something to be solved ASAP because it's a game-breaker.

Do you plan to add the coronation and the rebellion system from HRE revised? (i was used to merge this mod with yours in older versions when they were both compatible)
Rebellions in HRE are not dangerous enough for the emperor, and in the last game i tried Hungary was annexed to the empire around 1150 under an italian kaiser who hold also Tyr and Jerusalem after 2 successuf crusades... Since i can't play as often i wish those last weeks, i don't know if this is the classic situation now of if the HRE was just very lucky...
I am a bit affraid with this frenzy addition of mods (i stopted Prince and Thane for those reasons since adding every mods who come is not suitable for me, i was tired to edit my self what i didn't like in each new daily versions), i like the global philophy of the mod for now (historical aiming)

Well the screenshots shows something with a culture change and not a hostile vassal.

So your problem is that you get excommunicated when fighting a rebel vassal of yours while you are not part of a crusade. One question, did the vassal join the crusade or why did you get excommunicated? If he joined the crusade and you did not, I think that the decision of the pope to excommunicate you is correct.

Second problem, you think that crusades appear too often. I will look into this, but I am not sure if I can fix this. Could you please check if other mods already checked this issue?

Third problem, you get a message when a province culture changes and cannot play on as there is no button to get rid of it. I will ask Meneth where this problem comes from.

edit:
I think I found the problem to the 3. problem. Meneth released a new version which fixes this issue.

I fully understand your concerns. I am myself only adding mods which in my belief support the aim of this mod. The exception is ALA. I am not 100% convinced of this mod, but as many people here like it, I included it. Personally, I do not like the coronation mod. I think that it is maybe not historic enough. Reegarding the rebellions, I plan to include the rebellion script of CK2+.

EDIT2:

UPDATE

Uploaded version 3.3a which should fix the game crash due to a culture spread and edited some characters and marriages in the HRE and modified the costs for crusades as well as excommunications.

The Vassal had me excommunicated FIRST and then rebelled against me without me taking any action on him. He was a count so no possibility to crusade on his own.
Just by opinion (he was claimant to one of my titles) and it happened during a crusade.

If you dont crusade you get a negative opinion from the pope (and that's all right) but if crusades are so frequent... well you know the story.

This is Idib's answer about my question on how to reduce the Crusade frequency:

Crusades are possible only with high religious authority. You can mod that on missions.txt in the common folder, and also what you really wanna do is make religious authority rise at a slower pace, and you can do that through events or just mod what makes it rise so fast.

EDIT: It really is unhistorical how it is in vanilla.

I've checked the missions.txt and it's entirely aramaic to me.
Nothing in the mods forum about it. Nobody even thought about this issue yet. :(

Right.
Idib claims his mod (Prince and Thane) took care of the issue. I guess by having a look at his missions.txt you can find out what he did and replicate it into RK. :)

UPDATE

This was quite easy to mod. Now, the frequency should be between 20-40 years between the individual crusades. In case of successful crusades the frequency can be lower. Please tell me how it works :)

GShock, would you in turn do me a favor and rework all Souther Italian provinces as I did for the HRE? This would be a great addition to my mod! I thought about the provinces South of the HRE down to Malta.
