Hi,

I'm quite new to Stellaris and I can't seem to find the answers to various Mod related questions so I thought I'd post here.

Firstly how can I tell the version of the Base Stellaris game? I have the latest version AFAIK, but I can't find verify the actual version number anyway.

I've downloaded 3 Mods:

Automatic Pop Migration (Made for 2.2)
ST New Horizons (Made for 2.7.2)
Ultimate Traits and Civics (3.0.3)

I can't seem to find out if they will work with the version I have?

I have an initial Playset with all Mods disabled and a Test playlet with them all enabled.

If I install a mod will it be active next time I load a saved game?

Do I have to start a new game before the Mod will be active?

I've tried both of this methods and I can't get any of the Mods to actually do anything!

Any help greatly appreciated.

All the Best
Dave

Current version is 3.1.2. You can see the version number in the bottom left part of the main menu.

Neither of the mods you list are compatible with the current version of the game. Which doesn't always mean they won't work, but when it comes to the mods that you have listed, they're almost certainly not going to function.

If I install a mod will it be active next time I load a saved game?
You have to add the mods to a playset, and then select the playset in the launcher as your acrive playset.

Do I have to start a new game before the Mod will be active?
Not necessarily, but many mods do some initialization procedures when a new game starts, which, if skipped, can cause the mod to behave weirdly, or do nothing at all.
If you don't know what exactly you're doing, it's usually a good idea to start a new game when you add mods, and to not remove or disable mods while you're still in the middle of a game.

Likely because they're all outdated and do nothing but spam errors, but otherwise, make sure they're in your active playset.

Automatic Pop Migration is somewhat superfluous on the current version as the game already auto-migrates pops. It also has a current version.

SST New Horizons is a complete overhaul and as such needs a new game and probably shouldn't be combined with anything but UI mods. It too has a current version.

Ultimate Traits and Civics would probably be save-game compatible but it'll take time before any AI empire or species has any of the new civics/traits. Though you should be able to shift over to them for yourself as soon as it's active.

Why are you using heavily outdated versions of mods that have current versions?

Well, where does it tell you which mods are available for which version of the game? I'm using the Steam/Paradox Apps so I expected it to download and install something that would actually be used by the version it was being downloaded for!

It'll usually say on the workshop page if you use that.
