mod question - music mod

i've created a music mod for byzantine culture countries. it works in that it plays byzantine music for byzantine culture countries and vanilla music for any other country, but the vanilla music is also playing in the byzantine culture countries alongside the byzantine music, which i don't want. any way i can adjust the mod so it does not play the vanilla music at all if you're playing a byzantine culture country?

Short answer yes. I believe naming your song list (txt file in your mod) the same as the default game's will overwrite it. It's easiest just to copy the original file over to your mod, then add your own entries. Restricting the vanilla songs should be as easy as adding a 'modifier' clause to each entry. For example:

song = {
 name = "vanilla song.ogg"

 chance = {
  modifier = {
   factor = 1 
  }
  modifier = {
   factor = 0
   culture_group = byzantine
  }
}

Or something along those lines.
