I actually would disagree with you there. Excluding the tradeposts, the merchant republic mechanics are amazingly fitting for a roman republic. Contests between families for power, election mechanics, a focus on retinue and mercenaries for military power. About the only thing needed is for Paradox to expose the conditions for viceroyalties and to allow a republic vice royalty.

Family rivalries will be possible outside of republics once Paradox adds non-patrician family palaces. I believe Groogy said he'd look into it for a later patch.

galatian, celts that lived in the middle of anatolia for the longest time. they may not be completely historically acurate, seeing as their language become extinct in the 6th century

pontic greeks, lived where trezibond was, still live there today, have a signifigantly unique greek culture when compared to hellas greeks

pontic greeks have the issue of redoing the charecters file, possibly it could exist at the local level, need to research the other in the future might be good to have

im not sure if we should wait for features that might not even happen

Pdox acknowledged the demand for it, so its pretty likely at some point and preferable to the alternative.

Well with the Horse Lords map expansion there is already the Yuan Dynasty Empire.

that said, sometime round 950 in the five dynasties era, China should be ruling Anxi province.

That would be odd though. In the year 950 for one little province on the edge of the map to suddenly get 50-60k troops that can go invading neighbors. I mean seeing a Han Dynasy empire streaching all the way to the borders of Persia or Rome would be very cool but historically bizzare, especially since most of China's history they have had an extremely isolationist view.

Galatian I looked at before, it was dead by CM. In regards to Pontic Greek, this came up before and I don't really want to split Greek up.

I found a good country to occupy the han regions

it was a largely autonomous region that the tang dynasty had loose control over. it lasted until 790 CE, and it was also known by the name Anxi Protectorate.

The provinces that are south of mongolia and at the end of the map should be Han Chinese with the mod we plan to integrate (outer mongolia and the one below it) When I add Qinghai there may possibly be a Han province or two not sure though

In the screenshot of the Thessalonika Empire, the Kommenos Doukas family has a really boring dynastic CoA, any chance of a more interesting CoA for that family? Obviously this can be changed by the player using the customiser, just wondering if this was something you guys had thought about looking at or if Dynasty CoAs were nowhere on your list of priorities.
