There is also the aspect that I am more fond of modding euiii originally than ckii and really only went to ckii was due to me not having a mod team (anymore)
While i can't stop you from going over to EUIV, i'm personally not really interested in EU4 in the same way, the game just lacks personality somehow, there's no real characters, no dynastic infighting, no rebellious vassals, and the religions are just kinda bland. Also mana points are just horrible.I'm honestly sick of modding CK2 at this stage, it's no longer fun because the engine is very limited and performance is terrible. The vanilla game's history is also a train wreck that I can't fix, considering the characters folder alone has over ten thousand errors. EUIV either natively has the features we want (Elections and parliaments) or can support them (Territory system). Plus, the way CK2 handles religions and cultures (As self-sontained units) leads to them having no content because there are so many.
No offence to the EL guys, but their map is terrible, their mod is devoid of features, and their history is wrong in a lot of places. Our goal is to represent 337 - 1453 as best as possible.I've said this before but a mod like this for EUIV is just going to be a relatively bland Extended Timeline Light.
It took two days for SW to get this far. Considering we can re-use a lot of this mod's content, bookmarks should be a lot easier to add.

YesSo while you guys are moving this grand scale to EUIV (which I do admit seems more fitting) will you leave the current available CK build or no?
Mana points. Simple reason why I do not play EU4.While i can't stop you from going over to EUIV, i'm personally not really interested in EU4 in the same way, the game just lacks personality somehow, there's no real characters, no dynastic infighting, no rebellious vassals, and the religions are just kinda bland. Well, EUIV is overall much easier to mod. To add a new government, it's as simple as editing two files. CK2 has 100 ways it could fuck that up, EUIV has like 10 compared.Neither CK2 nor EU4 is properly modifiable. EU4 is too fixed. CK2 is too full of bugs. Yay. Moving to EU4 will at least liberate modders from bugs though.
Agreed. CK2 modding is like escaping from already fucked up modding.Well, EUIV is overall much easier to mod. To add a new government, it's as simple as editing two files. CK2 has 100 ways it could fuck that up, EUIV has like 10 compared.
Don't worry there is mod during migration period. This is When the World Stopped Making Sense. I think it is preety good. It can be better, of course, but it is beta.I was looking forward to playing things like the Fall of Rome or the Rise of Islam in CKII's system.Really sucks that you're going to EUIV. Never was a fan of how lacking it was in the character department. Or everything really.
