Ah I see what this collection you keep referring to is. Based on what it provides, you'll also need the Celtic Portraits DLC. Otherwise, you won't be able to use the Celtic or Western Slavic features of this mod.

I just wanted to tell you that I use your mod all the time, can't play without it. Thanks!
Personally I play a lot of multiplayer and therefore I've made a compilation of all the mp compatible features, maybe something like that would be a good idea as an alternative version?

Ask and ye shall receive. Attached you will find what you're looking for. It's just a subset of the PRP core. Actually, that's not entirely true. I took out the Mediterranean-faced Persians and Turks since I've grown less fond of them over time. But as a bonus, you'll get hair color variation for all Muslims, a new tweak I plan for version 2.0a.

Since this doesn't change the checksum, Turks and Steppe people have to look alike in this version, unfortunately. So be prepared for funny looking Pechenegs.

is this gonna be updated 2 newset ck2+
I've never played CK2+, so I don't know its specific content. Their first post says that this mod is compatible, though. I have a section in my first post that describes mod compatibility in case you find that things don't work perfectly out of the box. Massaging things to work is pretty easy if you are willing to edit a couple text files.

Installation question:

I've followed your instructions exactly but it appears to have no effect. The portraits at the startup screen after selecting "single player" are still the ugly DLC ones. Maybe I'm doing something wrong? In the CK2 mod folder there's the Portrait_Realignment.mod file and the Portrait_Realignment_1_11b folder, the latter of which has everything but the .mod file inside (prp_all, prp_core, prp_extras, your pdf file, and your 2 .txt files). At the launch screen all the portrait packs are selected, and so is the mod "Portrait Realignment Pack: ALL". I don't have the slightest idea what's off here and causing the mod to apparently not take effect.

Welcome to the CK2 forums brannimal!

Thank you for your detailed explanation. Based on what you've described, it sounds as though you put the prp_all directory into the wrong spot. If you open Portrait_Realignment.mod, you'll see that it expects to load all the data from a directory called /mod/prp_all. You have placed that directory in /mod/Portrait_Realignment_1_11b/prp_all. Try moving it up one level and see if that fixes your problem.

I'm eagerly awaiting for this:
I took out the Mediterranean-faced Persians and Turks since I've grown less fond of them over time. But as a bonus, you'll get hair color variation for all Muslims, a new tweak I plan for version 2.0a.
But I suspect he'll release after Sons of Abraham is released, assuming new portraits are added to the game.

Hi Vladdo. Long time lurker, first time poster? Well welcome to the forums!

I'm glad you are enjoying the mod. I plan on posting a new version shortly after the release of Sons of Abraham. I don't have any new features planned except for hair color variation for Muslims like ahheygao mentions. I might also fix the layering for western portraits; since 1.10, beards can cover the nose, which annoys me. And I have one other idea in the back of my head I'll try to explore. If you have any further suggestions, please let me know.

In the meantime, everyone should check out the Modified Mediterranean GFX mod. It's fully compatible with PRP and certainly makes the Muslims look better.

I like that Modified Arabic GFX a lot, and the current Modified Mediterranean GFX actually look decent with your Realigned Turks mod.

Hey iron0037, remember how we briefly discussed the shoddiness of the Mediterranean Portrait Packs, a couple pages back? The bodies and outfits off-center compared to the vanilla bodies and outfits, which resulted in those revealing sexy shoulders when you put the Mediterranean outfits on the vanilla Western bodies. But the worst part is that the artist completely neglected to provide nearly all of the the back/interior sides for the clothes_behind file. What makes this laziness all the more inexcusable is that several of the Mediterranean outfits were pretty much copied and slightly modified from vanilla Muslim and Western outfits, yet the artist didn't even have the courtesy to complete the blatant rip-off and instead neglected the back/interior sides for those outfits.

Well, I finally got around to adjusting the off-center Mediterranean outfits in byzantine_male_clothes.dds to match vanilla Western bodies, and I went one step further by providing back/interior side in byzantine_male_clothes_behind.dds as well. Here's how everything looks when used with your Realign Med mod:

HWDxJIN.png

I used the skinny neck in these screenshots, but I've also made sure the fat neck body doesn't clip the Mediterranean outfits either.

So what do you think? If my modifications are to your liking, then by all means feel free to use them as you see fit (assuming you haven't already fixed them yourself for your private use, that is). I seem to recall you were reluctant (for good reason) to include any modified images of DLCs in your mod, but I personally cannot tolerate the Realign Med mod without modifying those two crappy dds files from the DLC... and I'd be sorely disappointed if many others don't feel the same way.

Hi ahheygao,
Wow, that looks a lot better! I never even realized that the behind clothes were ruined, though I can clearly see the problem now. Your corrections look so good, that I'm strongly tempted to include them with PRP. I'm going to dwell on that some more...

In the meantime, I would suggest you post a minimod of your own with this content. Players should be able to enjoy it even if they aren't interested in PRP. I don't think Paradox is going to complain about its distribution. It may even shame them into patching the DLC :).

Heh, thanks for the kind words of encouragement! Yah, I find the lack of backside/interior of those Mediterranean outfits to be highly inexcusable, especially considering several of them were copied from existing outfits.

In the meantime, I would suggest you post a minimod of your own with this content. Players should be able to enjoy it even if they aren't interested in PRP. I don't think Paradox is going to complain about its distribution. It may even shame them into patching the DLC :).
I suppose now that Modified Mediterranean GFX mod has made the Mediterraneans slightly more tolerable, I could go shift the outfits back to off-center again to match the Mediterranean bodies, as you've suggested... but the thing is, the artist compensated for his/her laziness by making the Mediterranean necks wider and bodies lower, effectively covering up the missing backside/interior for the most part. That's why not everyone really noticed immediately how bad these outfits actually were, and it was only after they were put on vanilla Western/Arabic bodies (or most other DLC bodies for that matter) that I noticed right away something was amiss.

I know you know what we're talking about, but perhaps I should've clarified for anyone else following this thread: the modification I've uploaded was explicitly calibrated to be used with iron0037's PRP mod (specifically, the Realign Med mod), because I shifted the outfits to center with vanilla Western bodies (the Mediterranean bodies are slightly off-center to begin with, and as such, their outfits started off off-center as well). In other words, in its current state without any further adjustments, my modification is not for anyone using the original Mediterranean bodies with Mediterranean outfits.

Ah yes, that's a good point. I have used the western faces with Byzantines so long that I've nearly forgotten about the DLC faces. Since your work is most useful to this mod, I am now leaning towards including them with the next patch. You'll get credits for your hard work :). Thanks again!

Thank you for the warm welcome, my dear friend
I look forward to the update.
I would like to say a few things:
I would be very happy if Mediterranean faces were a little ... tanned. In the dlc, which you advised, the Greeks and especially the Orthodox Patriarch do not have their beards, but they face are made perfectly.
The second point.
Again beards. It is sometimes very strange. Even the screenshots show that facial hair is growing out of сharacter's mouth.

Hey everyone,
The Portrait Realignment Pack has been updated for 2.0 compatibility. A few minor improvements have also been added. Here is a full list of changes:

  • Modified culture file to be 2.0 compatible
  • Modified graphics cultural type file to be 2.0 compatible
  • Modified portrait properties to be 2.0 compatible
  • Added new mod with hair color variation for Muslims
  • Added new mod that fixes sprite layering issue with Western males so that nose isn't covered by beard
  • Fixed issue with Mediterranean clothing misalignment and missing behind graphics
  • Fixed issue with hair inappropriately sticking out of Muslim headgear
  • Fixed sprite layering issue with Norse males so that nose isn't covered by beard

Of course documentation and screenshots got refreshed as well. Anyone looking to stay on 1.111 should still be able to use this latest version of the mod. You will have a pair of unused Jewish cultures, some unused holy order graphical culture groups, and a slightly more functional Ruler Designer. Otherwise, there should be no difference. Interesting little note, the Khazars look different for 2.00 players since they're Jewish and non-pagan Steppe people wear Russian clothes in PRP.

Thanks everyone for your continued support. I can't believe I had over 700 downloads for the last release. Let me know if you find any glitches, since it's quite possible for me to have made a minor oversight. Otherwise, happy gaming!
