So there is still no playable version of this mod?
I've been wondering something for a while now, there is a ishmalogim race & culture in Gondor. What is that?
What I mean is is there a published fix for the problems of Manwe, Gandalf and Radagast playing for Sauron and so on. As it stands because of that the game is unplayable in any meaningful sense. IF there is a fix in dev could we please have it? Or is it available and I just don't know where to go? Thanks for the great work so far.Not for the current CK2 version no. You can however use the Steam Beta feature to go back to version 2.2.1 and play the mod.

Fixed on the dev buildHas anyone successfully fixed the game-breaking Manwe playing on Sauron's team bit?
I've tried without success.![]()
CK 2 has announced its next major DLC pack. I sense this is going to set this mod's development back even farther.
For what it's worth, I don't think that there are any groups in Middle Earth that are actively migratory, though 'clan' mechanics could spruce up the Easterlings, at the very least.
goblins and the orcs might be able to use some of it maybe? and the wild men?
Wern't pretty much all the easterlings and most of the southrons nomadic empires? Atleast the Balchots, the Wainriders and Variags looks to me to have been horse nomads. For what it's worth, I don't think that there are any groups in Middle Earth that are actively migratory, though 'clan' mechanics could spruce up the Easterlings, at the very least.

And I figured that the Northmen in the south of Rhovannion (apart from Dorwinion) were horse nomads too. It makes sense considering that it is supposed to be steppelands and according to wikipedia the Eotheod was formed from Rhovinnian refugees and survivors (led by the "Vidugavian" Mahrwini) from the Rhovannion/Gondor defeat at "the battle of the plains" against the Wainriders in T.A. 1856 (aka year 10297) after which Rhovannion was destroyed. They then settled in the Vales of Anduin. The Eotheod and the Rohirrim are atleast clearly horse nomads.
Although in the mod it looks like the Eotheod have been given some other origin since they already exist in the Vales even before the fall of Rhuadur to Angmar.

My thinking behind saying that they are horse nomads is that the Rhovannic northmen and their descendants (the Eotheod and Rohirrim) seems very horse-centric (both Roh in Rohvannion and Rohan means "horse", just as Eó in Eotheod which would be translated to horse people) and they live on open grasslands (the eotheod less so than what came before and after). they seem to be highly mobile in their settlement over-land (while the Dunedain migrated by ship). And they fight mainly equestrian enemies like the Wainriders, who are charioteers, the Balchoth (who could be the descendants of the wainriders) who also are charioteers and the Variags (who are described as providing the horses to the armies of Mordor) over control of the open plains.I would say this migration has a lot to do with circumstances. All of the mannish realms seems to have been made by recent settlers (including the Dunadain ones), and this is a constant in Men´s history since the FA. However I don´t think the Eotheod, at least not all through their history, could be considered a nomadic culture (as I imagine you relate to the Huns or the early Germanic Tribes, maybe)
CoolThe Northmen do give a vibe of being in-between "tribal" and "nomadic", in CK2 terminology...
As for the origins of the Eotheod and their presence in the Vales of the Anduin:
- you're correct in that they actually were remnants of Rhovannion Northmen
- however, before that exodus, there were already Men in the Vale since the First Age, the Woodsmen and the ancestors of the Beornings. Both mostly likely share their ancestry with the Northmen of Rhovanion
Overall, the setup of the Vales has some margin for improvement. We'll see what we can do before the next update...
The new mechanics may allow us to better simulate the Northmen and Stoor migrations and bring new life to this very interesting and obscure area of Middle-Earth.![]()
Love this mod, you guys have done a fantastic job and from one major Tolkien fan...THANKS! when do you guys plan on having another update rolled out? no rush, always like good stuff late over shoddy early just to appease people!
Yeah same here.I would be fine with just an update to make it compatible with the current CK2 patch so I don't have to revert all the time. At that point I would have no issue waiting however long it takes to get new content.
