As far as I recall, Maiar power ratings go, from most powerful to less.
Eonwë
Gothmog
Melian
Thu/Mairon/Sauron
Gandalf/Olorín
This as far as i can tell from the books should be pretty accurate, Eonwë is the Herald of Manwë/Captain-General of Aman with Gothmog being his Melkorian Counterpart.
Melian, well the fact the Doriath stood for aslong as it did speaks for itself as to her power, and lets not forget, a mere spark of her essence diluted over 30 odd generation created the Dead-Men of Dunharrow, and at over 70 generations dilution had enough power to control them still.
Gandalf is abit tricky to place given that he's been rather several nerfbatted, otherwise i believe the list to be accurate.
Messing around with Dwarves. First attempt was King Dain. Not much to say: It was fun of a sort to see armies of 50,000 and 100,000 orcs break themselves on Erebor, but actually beating them back was not really possible.
Current game is the lone Dwarf in the east. King Anar. It's currently very quiet. I am only technically a Guardian of Middle Earth. Things are happening, but they don't concern me. I just quietly fabricate and claim land from the small places that appear. I have no retinue, which makes me sad. Then again, the Avari across the water also seems sad. Only one of his kind.
Bleh. Invasion by Rhun. Lost lots of land. Oh, Sauron got his ring back also.
Meh. If you're hoping to do anything with the Avari in the east, forget it. Quite apart from no retinue(Not my complaint), their singular castle is not only worse than even baseline, not having the Castle Town line for income, but Dorwinion wants that land. Swearing fealty won't save you-it'll just get you killed.
If there are plans to do anything there(Since Maglor is here) there needs to be some way to allow them to live, first. Because they will not. They WILL be annexed and killed off.
Could you add this culture suggestion? We'll get it fixed, but I don't think it's in the coming build (which will hopefully be released today). The best solution is probably an independent mini-kingdom for the Avari, those little dwarf provinces in HArad and Dorwinion seem to survive, so that's probably the best way to handle it. As for Avari retinues, added to my to-do list
As for Sauron getting hte ring back, yeah, just fixed it. The thing is he was getting 5k gold when the war started, but he used some of this to pay 2.5k to send an expedition to get Frodo via the hunt for the ring decision and that means he got it something like 75% of the time. That gold is now removed (he doesn't need it anymore, since he now has max taxes anyways) so Sauron should now be less likely to get the ring.
One question for future updates. Will we be having special artifacts that we can acquire that are not unique to specific characters?
Not counting in things like the Dwarven arkenstone and all.
Furthermore, is there any way to which to change the culture of a province you own that is not your own but not outright destroyed? Or is it down to natural progression which takes I don't know, how long...
Oh? And how, pray tell, do we find these objects in Lindon?
You forgot about Ossë. He pulled Númenor from the Sea, that is a greater showing of power than any other on the list. Eonwë is a bit iffy, because he was mainly noted as a swordsman and warrior, like Gothmog. Personally, I'd place Mairon above Gothmog. He was after all, Melkor's "main" lieutenant.
You'll need to hold Himling, and look at your decisions
But you'll need to be patient, it's really hard to find something, but there's two objects there.
So, the Sword of Maedhros is one of the items.
However, after finding that (twice with two different quick run throughs with cheated gold/prestige) the option disappears in the menu  Any way that I can find the second item?
PS. I adore you lot even more now for adding in these little touches!
PSS. Did you consider just how many fan arguments there would be when you decided to run with this idea?![]()
