I'm planning to remove the following provinces north of the red line, as I find them useless. What do you think?

Oh, it would not make any change other than aesthetical. It would not solve the weird borders thing. BTW, what map changes would you like to see?

EDIT: Also, for those who run it ingame, don't you think some Indian provinces, mainly Hindu-Kush ones, are too east? I think so.

It's hard to tell. Have you considered putting in short strips of incognita to represent Central Asia's impassable mountain ranges?

What stands out aesthetically are those weirdly elongated provinces lapping the old map-edge in Persia.

I don't like pieces of terra incognita in the middle of my empire :p The Alps don't have Terra Incognita so I think I won't use it to represent impassable regions.

All squarish or weird looking provinces will be fixed. Those in Persia I think I'll make them shorter, bringing the other provinces west, where I think they fit better.

ahh... I thought logical as in "take someone away here, put some new in there", but I would still approve of doing it since the map would look much better that way

15th July 2010 Version is released. I'll put this in the first page too (as well as the download). Download from Filefront here: link

Changes:

- Compatible with 2.32b
- Minimap corrected for the current map (thank you so much Descartes)
- Removed provinces from the north of Asia as I found them useless and ugly and that allowed me to name most of them without the superior/occidentalis spam
- New provinces added to their place in Nubia, Aethiopia and near the Ganges delta
- Indian kings are now titled Raja/Rani and emperors Samraat. Chinese kings are titled Wang and emperors Huangdi
- Added Qin Emperors characters, but just that, they are currently interestless
- New country added: Kingdom of Kuninda, in Kashmir
- New nations that can be formed: Parthia by Dahae, Indo-Greek Kingdom by Greco-Bactrian Kingdom and Indo-Scythia by Chorasmia or Sakas
- Changed the flag of Kosala with its civil war flag because the rhino is more visible
- Changed governmet types of some countries: Aksum is now a Religious Tribe, the Arabian minors Aristocratic monarchies, Maurya Empire a Federal Monarchy (unless it is already an Imperium), Kalinga a Military Republic and Chorasmia a Civic Tribe. Don't ask me why, I just wanted to diversify
- The borders of the provinces in the Tarim Basin are now much prettier
- Qin and Chu now start with more provinces. Chinese provinces were nerfed in population and civilization value. Colonisation is now slower (I hope)
- Corrected history a little more, with Han taking over Korea and Xiongnu expanding
- Yuezhi now starts with less provinces, but the provinces are now barbarian free
- Added tributaries in historical starts: Chera, Chola, Pandya, Anuradhapura and Kuninda are vassals of Maurya, Parthia is a vassal of Dahae and Chorasmia is a vassal of Sakas
- Added Seleucid cores in "Alexander's India" (Seleukos Nikatos deal with Maurya), but it seems they're not working correctly, not all appear (seems random)
- Meroe is now named Kush. Religion is now Egyptian Pantheon and not African Folk (actually, no country now is african folk as Aksum is jewish). With the new provinces added, I think Kush may be more lucky holding against Egypt
- Han is now an Imperium in the historical starts (Qin too after annexing the other warring states)
- Made some provinces in North-Central India have Jainism as I think it existed somewhat to deserve more provinces. The localisation of them was sort of random however
- Minor changes with some provinces moving to other regions and having different religions
- The sea provinces near Korea now correctly have a visible name
- Indian cultures are now divided in 3 groups: Western Indian, South Indian and Eastern Indian

Next move: rework China by adding more provinces to allow me to include the minor warring states and also make the provinces prettier.

I think that's all. Sorry for taking so long to make an update so shallow, but I had and still have work to do on my master thesis. And now images, as everyone loves them:

Nothing special, I moved one province here. Previous Melanchseni was removed and one was created next to Rhoxolani.
rome8.png

New Africa. IMHO, it looks so much better now.
rome7.png

No more superior/occidentalis here \o/
rome6.png

Nor here
rome5.png

New start of Yuezhi, Qin and Chu
rome4.png

2 new provinces added here. Yes, unimpressive
rome3.png

Kuninda close up. They're high

The new smooth profile of Central Asia

And finally the current province map

the mod is great and I am having a great time playing it right now. There is however some small bugs.

1. the city of Issedones is in Jiaohe
2. the city of Xiongnu Xi is just over the border into Bajkal Dong Bei
2. I can´t get my troops to march into Bajkal Dong Bei
3. my troops uses about a day when they travel from Xiongnu Dong to Issedones
4. there are some annoying red borders within some of the countries. Deleted the map cache, but they are still there

I also noticed something odd after a civil war I had, the leader of the war was seemingly pardoned for his actions on the spot, while his spouse was arrested.

I also noticed something odd after a civil war I had, the leader of the war was seemingly pardoned for his actions on the spot, while his spouse was arrested.

The position of cities and the troop movement weirdness was caused because I forgot to update the position of the units and cities. Fortunately, the game didn't crash with units outside the province.
The red borders thing is outside my control, as well as the sea provinces without borders, unfortunately.
For the civil war, the mod currently don't messes with events, so it's not a problem with the mod.

Download link updated with the corrected version.
Thank you for the feedback and error pointing.

hi, im new to this mod but as i glance at it, it looks awsome, just wondering if it would be possible if japanese could be added into the game, since an actuall japanese kingdom/empire exist around the time, as early as 900 B.C there was a japanese empire.

cheer and good luck :D

Will any or all of South East Asia be added? Srivijaya would be cool.

I plan to add Southeast Asia as colonising playground for China and India. Srivijaya only appears way later in history, like 700 years after the end of this game. I think nothing interesting was happening in Southeast Asia in this timespan.
