what is your folder name though? my dev version is set as this: Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\lux-invicta-repository2, which means I have to change my .mod file path to match the folder name

Weird, then it should be loading up fine. check you got no other big mods checked, and also try validating game files through steam.

I saw the debate and downloaded the mod from Moddb.

First obvious issue is that the *.mod file is inside the mod files folder.

Second issue :
The folder itself is called Lux_Invicta.
The mod file contains path = "mod/Lux Invicta" and hence misses that _ or requires the _ being deleted in the folder name.

Third potential :
The issue for Spooky above could also be the potential of an extra folder getting created on extraction with the actual mod files folder
in the lower tier, depending on the settings of the extraction program and the option used to extract.

Fourth potential :
I forgot if the *.mod file requires the exact same name as the folder, but i would do and did so.
That could also be the issue here.

Haven't tried to launch the mod yet.

Did now.

Regarding my fourth and last point :
The *.mod file name does not have to be the same as the mod folder, but the path in the *.mod file should be correct.

Adding the _ to the path worked.
So..
path = "mod/Lux_Invicta".

Alternatively deleting the _ in the folder name instead works as well.

I'd suggest fixing that and reuploading for the casual user instead of leaving it that way.
Just my 2cents.

The .mod file I use is that...

name = "Lux Invicta v0.6K16"
path = "mod/Lux Invicta"
user_dir = "Lux Invicta"

replace_path = common/buildings
replace_path = common/trade_routes
replace_path = common/societies
replace_path = common/artifacts
replace_path = common/artifact_spawns
replace_path = "history"
replace_path = "history/characters"
replace_path = "history/diplomacy"
replace_path = "history/provinces"
replace_path = "history/technology"
replace_path = "history/titles"
replace_path = "history/wars"
replace_path = "map"
replace_path = "decisions"
replace_path = "events"
replace_path = "dlc_metadata/dlc_characters"

I am horrible at uploading, so I do apologize for that.

Well i suppose either you at one point or the zipping progam you used added the _ to the name of the zip file
and as you zipped the content of the mod folder rather than the mod folder and a *.mod file this
likely happened during the packing process.

Happens.

I prepare the mod as it should be after being unpacked, mod folder and file, then mark both, right click and use
a shortcut option to start the zipping process with 7zip.

Just more of my 2cents and cookies while having interrupted sleep and making another tea...

Happy New Years, Lux Invicta fans!

Wanted to let everyone know that in the next few months, I will make another release for this mod. I have been adding Devil Worshipper, Assassins, and possibly warrior lodge societies to Lux, in addition to HF style bloodlines.

Stay tuned for more details :)

open the .mod file and edit the line

path = "mod/Lux Invicta"

to

path = "mod/Lux_Invicta"

I tried to play the mod, and the current version I'm using is v0.6K16. However, no matter how hard I tried in getting the mod up, it STILL takes me to the vanilla game.

Is this current version of Lux Invicta absolutely broken?

See the post above yours, and that might help.

Its my bad mod publishing skills... lol

Make sure the path line matches where the mod is at in your documents folder.

Yep!

Try downloading the Github version then.

Press the Green code button, and then download zip.

Unzip files once downloaded, and then drag the folder over to ck2/mod folder.

make sure the .mod file's path line matches the place the mod files are in

mod/lux-invicta-repository
