No plan for this in the foreseeable future
- We already have many religions with the Sun as a central figure;
- Central Asian set up is dominated by the Indo-Hellenic religions (try Pyromantic instead!);
- Let's keep diversity between the base game and the Vanilla-improved MODs such as CK2+ on the one hand, and alt history ones such as this one.

Now there could be room for more local tribal religions in Central Asia, and this could be a candidate. But that would have to rely on more provinces, so it is a long term perspective.

As far as I understand this "Zunism" is more or less an Iranian-influenced cult of Surya. As Numahr and Rich have explained, we have a lot of solar cults in game, including an actual cult of Surya.

In any case, as said before, there's a pending overhaul for Central Asia which will probably include some new religions.

Well, I found my first major problem with the map:

What can be the cause of this? I've added the RGB values in Definitions, I've listed the provinces and their holdings in History and Landed Titles, and I've set localisations for them. The only things they don't have are flags, holder characters or lieges.

I've used values from 1578 and up. Maybe I should choose other values? Maybe the RBG values I've set don't work?

Did you edit default.map so that the "max_provinces =" value is 1599?

Also, are you using the latest SVN map? The last province shouldn't' be "1537;168;189;22;Canalis Sinaticus;x", it should be "1576;169;24;27;Kamarupanagara;x".

The doubted_faith religion modifier from Tolerance Laws really kills moral authority in the current implementation, since it's -3 for 100 years per tolerant ruler. I had -54 moral authority from it, with an intolerant Tarhuntite Empress of Basileia Rhomaion, preventing her from reforming the religion. (That's a lot of tolerant dukes and below, since I coded it that the tolerance laws could be only one step away from the liege's tolerance law.) I could:
  • Decrease the penalty
  • Decrease the duration of the penalty
  • Restrict the penalty to independents, or to kings and above
  • Have a three tier system, with sectarians having a high MA penalty, communitarians a lower MA penalty, and all others none
  • Some combination of the above

Thoughts?

Maybe removing it altogether? That MA penalty makes sense for vanilla's religions which have a big MA values; like the Christian or Muslim denominations, but not in LI where the average MA is 20.

I upped the max_provinces to 1595 and some of the new provinces showed up. The rest didn't. Also, now the game crashes when I begin a game with any character. I'll keep digging.

Located part of the error, some mistake from my part when adding RBG values. That's why some provinces were showing and some weren't.

But the game still crashes at start. Validator doesn't list one single error related to titles, except for the lack of flags, which I thought didn't mean the game had to crash.

As you can see, I've put a bit of green on the Lybian desert oasis in Buhairya, Kharga, Dakhla and Siwa. Heliopolis is still not there because I plan to swap it with Cairo.

By the way, having increased the number of provinces, I find myself lost in the political landscape. How should this Egypt work? I think we could have one Snake Lord of the Oasis of Tuareg culture, but there's too much Egypt for the four players alone (Fatimids, Nobatia, Banu Rasin and Tulunids, not counting Makuria). Isn't it? Independent monastic state in Thebes? Miner kings in the Red Sea shores, shipping porphyr and gold out to Saba, Sinai and India? Who should rule the Oracle of Ammon? Is it still the Oracle of Ammon? Nubian/Roman merchant republic in Elephantina?

Oh that makes sense, from the look of the Sinai I though the mod was switching to the SWMH map or something.

Not really, although I do take their work into account sometimes. For the Sinai desert I was unable to find a map of the uninhabitable areas. I know it's one of the most arid and inhospitable places on Earth, so I wanted it to show, and I took hint from their work.

What patch are you running the map with, that it crashes?

2.1.6, which worked right before I added the province files. Validator keeps being unable to find the reason. Maybe a problem of the duchies, or the lack of flags. Today I'll add provisional flags for all the new titles I've added, see if it works.

Thanks, but we'll see if I can make it work! Also, if anyone has input on the provinces, their holders and their religion, feel free to discuss it!

By the way, are you using the re-scaled version of the map or the older one with the cramped projection?

I ask this because if you aren't, it's going to be a chore to re-scale the map again, and add the missing provinces. That's why I suggested to use the version in the SVN instead of the older 2.1.6 release one.

About the crash problem... I don't know. Honestly it can be a lot of things, counties without duchies, a stray pixel in the provinces.bmp file. I don't think that it's the flags, if there isn't a flag for a title all you get is some misplaced flags here and there, but no crashes.

Can't really comment on the political landscape because I don't know crap about it, but about the oracle temple of Ammon... Maybe it should be occupied by the Alexandros-Ammonite religious head? I added it recently, and since it doesn't fit in Alexandria (it's temple holding is already occupied by the Platonic Islam rel. head, the Academy of Alexandria), it would be a good place to put it (and because you know, I guess it would be considered the place of Alexander's "rebirth" as the divine son of Zeus-Ammon by the Alexandros-Ammonites).

Or we do as you say and give the Oracle of Ammon (the Ara Ammonia, I think it's called) to the head of the Alexander-Ammon faith.

Both options work for me to be honest. Can't check since I'm not at my home's computer, but I think that Alexandria is already at it's maximum number of occupied holding slots ( 7 ). In any case... it would be nice that the actual Duke (Hyparch?) of Alexandria would just hold Alexandria proper now that the province covers only the city itself... you know, reconquering the world from the Conqueror's city.
