You're right. Sadly, the Mithraic religions are all Graeco-Roman in Lux; else it would be a perfect fit. We could have done an Indo-Iranian version of Mithraism when we were coming up with religions, but now it would be more work than it's worth.

But... Mithra is already Indo-Iranian.

Mithra is Indo-Iranian indeed, Mithras is Graeco-Roman. If we want to get picky, he IS Mithra, just given qualities the Romans considered "Persian" like the Phrygian cap ... but you know, interpretatio graeca.

It would be like saying that Mars and Ares are one and the same... to the Romans they often were, but the 2 deities have very different origins.

Indeed, there's debate as to whether roman Mithras was related to Persian Mithra at all, given that they share very little to none of their atttributes. Aside from inspiration, of course.

How exactly can we say the Greek (Roman) Mithras is inspired from but not related to the Persian Mithra? Different depiction and possibly rituals (not sure, since the bull killing motif is present throughout the realm of Mithra), but that's just what happens every time religion crosses cultures. It is the same god.

Well, the Maitrakas worshiped Hellenized Mithras, as it was introduced by the Greeks.

Except the Greeks never really picked up on Mithras (even though the name Mithras is the Greek equivalent); that was more of a Roman thing. The Greeks were too busy worshipping Alexandros and Sol Invictus in Lux to care about anything from those (hated) Persians.

I find that hard to believe. Mitra had always been an important god in Vedism/Brahmanism/Hinduism, so I think it's more likely they worshiped Mitra.

Would it be possible to make it so that rulers of realms with the non-tolerant religion policy get no tyranny points when trying to imprison their courtiers or courtiers in the realm of a different religion? Seems obvious for someone zealous about his religion to not want people of other religions in their realm. :p

I agree. A non-tolerant policy on religion should mean that heretics and infidels get free arrest. Possibly even reduced execution mali.

With the inclusion of the Lu Bu religion, Fengxian Chóngbài, will we be seeing a Lu Bu bloodline trait? After all if I remember right a long time ago back when Futuregary created the Chinese invasion submod, I thought I remembered he created a timeline of what happened in China and India, etc and in it it was stated that Lu Bu unified China, or was at least part of a triumvirate that did. Now that he also has a religion based off of him (and if I remember right his eventual return) I would think that it would be fitting for there to be a bloodline trait for his descendents.

You can:
1) Assign graphical_culture_type to all special troops in common/special_troops (Any units raised with special troops that don't have that line will crash the game)
2) Make sure all religions, or at least the religion you are playing (or its parent religion, if a heresy), has 5 holy sites assigned to temple baronies in common/landed_titles/landed_titles.txt (Opening the Religion tab when this hasn't been done will crash the game.)

Or you can use the SVN version. Instructions on acquiring it are in the Clairvoyance Corner. We have done 1) there, and are in the process of doing 2)
