EDIT: IMPORTANT NOTE
I don't have a link, but I know I said a while ago that there are some documents that are simply too big and too different to possibly merge. As a result, some files are going to be overwritten, and recent changes made to those files after the point they were last able to be merged with the head revision will be lost. Those files are:
  • 1_titles.csv
  • landed_titles.txt
  • titular_titles.txt
  • I almost didn't merge 00_lux_characters.txt, since there have been a lot of changes and they would all need to be hunted down and sorted by hand, unless I applied a lot of syntax and spacing changes that would sync up with my version; but upon updating, you guys would just need to take my word for it (or apply all the changes to your own revision by hand). I'm only going to do this one more time, though, since I've done it a couple times before and it's been undone by careless updaters.
  • Everything in history/provinces. The entire folder has been redone, and only two files even have the same name as before. Sorry; hope no one put a lot of work into it.
  • 00_religions.txt had a bunch of icons changed around and that made it very difficult to edit. I think only a couple changes were made after I did that, so not much would be undone.
  • Everything in the /map folder. This is kind of obvious, and any changes you guys made would be moot anyway. Still, just for clarification.

I'm honestly not even sure how to begin a changelog for this. So I really do hope that is sufficient :laugh:

The struggle between Darkness and Light will now extend to far away provinces... Hurrah to Futuregary for this exceptional accomplishment! :eek: :D

I miss Arachosia in this map. I guess the southern part of Bactria in the map corresponds roughly to historical Arachosia.

I want to ask, though, why are there provinces inside the Taklamakan? I know that there were settlements along the roads and rivers, but better to leave the desert impassable, right? It's one of the deadliest deserts on Earth after all.

Just some feedback after a pre-expansion playthrough as Eastern Roman Empire (with illustrations at http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...cta-Post-your-empires&p=17785551#post17785551 if needed):

1, Was there a reason why restore the Roman Empire got taken away?
2, Using conquest on the last holding of other realms doesn't seem to vassalize their vassal mercenaries anymore.
3, If you use the event to give yourself the Roman Empire, you receive a new minor title that can only be given to your male heir (I think) - King of the Romans; however, its description is incomplete.
4, Following the above, the heirs of the original restorer does not receive Augustus upon succession.
5, Ditto, the newly-minted Roman Empire uses default laws rather than the ones of your previous empire(s).
6, Since Tolerance/Intolerance is a ducal law, my own Tolerance/Intolerance only affects counties under my control, yes?
7, Convert province culture ambition can be repeatedly used - I seem to recall riknap take offense at extreme cultural conversion speeds, so maybe you want to change that? (With that ambition I convert on average 2 provinces a year.) I land character by diplomacy, so I think I rarely had subjects to went local (a German duke of Bavaria and a Roman Duke of Dauphine are the only ones I can remember.)
8, Since the Eastern Expansion is going out this is obsolete, but - when I reached India, pretty much everyone was Hindu (well, or Nestorian.) Was a bit weird, since such religious homogeneity (without political homogeneity; it was fragmented into 10+ kingdoms) did not happen for other regions

I seem to recall riknap saying he want to replace the Realm Duress with another modifier that punishes you based on the number of vassals you have?

It's too easy to keep a large realm under control by having a large number of weak vassals, making it harder for them to band together and make an effective fist against you. To force you to keep a limited number of more powerful vassals:
* Rulers lose -1 relation with all vassals per vassal they have.

There are many other ideas in that mod which seem to work with this one:

* New plot: courtiers with a negative opinion of you will conspire to murder you and usurp your primary title.

* Instead crown authority affects retinue. With Autonomous Vassals you gain no retinue from realm holdings. At Absolute Crown Authority you receive 16 retinue points per realm holding.
* For vassals it depends on crown authority. Under Autonomous Vassals they receive the full 160 retinue. Under Absolute crown authority they get nothing.

* Stewardship affects the opinion of your city vassals. +/-1 opinion per point above/below 10 Stewardship.
* Intrigue affects the opinion of your courtiers and councillors. +/-2 opinion per point above/below 10 Intrigue.
* Learning affects the opinion of your temple vassals. +/-1 opinion per point above/below 10 Learning.

Furthermore the prestige/piety cost of declaring war with a casus belli is heavily affected by ruler attributes. At stat 10 it's standard cost. It decreases down to half cost at stat 20. At stat 5 it's double the usual cost. Below stat 5 you can't use the casus belli.

I have a similar concern. Also, where is the Dropbox (not entirely familiar with the forum)?

The new map looks...stretched out so to speak. In terms of provinces of the "old world", the numbers and such stayed the same, yes?

Trust me, the stretched map becomes an acquired taste. I wasn't too happy with it either at first but I've grown to like it.
There are a couple of new provinces (Mostly in Sardinia), but yeah, Western Europe is the same as vanilla's
