With BLC installed, you go to interface -> Find the culture file Portraits_<culture> open this with notepad++ or other text editor and that's where you make changes. At first glance it looks like madness so.... Good luck trooper. :D

For the GFX you want to use they are in gfx/character/ and then one of the maps. (What you want is probably already be in the Portraits_<culture> file then it's just a question of changing some lines if you can find them :D)

Still many blank spots, but... It should help you along quite a bit.

The problem is that I can't find the lines which attribute different unit sprites for their respective cultures :/

assuming you're referring to the SVN version of both LI and the SVN/locker version of BLC as well....
I'm confused - that build of all things should be more than capable of running it.

you could try what I did - ie. disabling most cosmetic DLC's and slowly testing which work. It goes without saying that to use BLC all portrait packs must be enabled as well.


If I just disable my SoA DLC will it work? Or has the new patch and everything messed it up for good?

you could just either
a) use the beta option in steam to revert to pre-SOA
b) use the SVN version of our mod (refer to the FAQ for instructions). it still hasn't been released because I haven't gotten around to actually modding stuff I need to balance/tweak/fix/add yet (bloody memory issues post-2.0.2 *mumble mumble* )

Aside from religious clothing options in the 00_religions.txt (for which Islamic clothing is the only omittance), there really isn't any I don't think. In 00_cultures.txt, there is a line that just assigns its cultures to the culturetypes and I think randomly generated characters just randomly pull sprites for each face piece.

Now that's a major oversight on Paradox's side.

Anyway to fix it?

So I can't get the .mod file to work. Joy. Why can't your SVN download be complete?
I'm using Notepad++, and I've replaced everything.

Edit: Nevermind, fixed it. Still though, you should fix the SVN, considering the long wait time for the updates for DLC.
Super edit: Nevermind, didn't fix it. What do I have to replace here for common paths?

Only when creating characters. The game reads a DNA string represented by a combination of the code values for each piece, and then creates a face based on that code. If it's random, then it just randomly generates one. But if you write the string yourself...

Keep in mind, though, this is how to make fixed faces. For clothing, I believe it's the properties line underneath the DNA one (look in one of the character examples to see what I'm talking about). You'll need to make sure the clothing you want is in their graphicalculturetypes options, and then you should be able to select it. The best person to ask about this would be DarkReborn, but currently he is on leave I believe.

The bugs are grand and aplenty, with only a few exterminators to fight them off. Any you notice and report to us would be helpful.



I'm not sure if it's the fact that I was using Spotify alongside, but it appears that my GPU's ability to handle CK2 has failed. Until I can rebuild my computer, my testing ability is likely limited to manual checks and fixes. Which means that fixing my desktop needs to become a priority :p
