Regarding the Eosophorist religion pre-SoA, I still use the pre-SoA version and I was wondering how it would be possible to get a head of faith, if it was at all possible. I recently conquered Rome and the rest of the Holy Places are either mine or Galatia's, with me holding four and Galatia holding the one in it's starting lands. Anything I should know?

Just putting this question out here again.

I'm planning on eventually adding creatable religious heads to some religions that lack them (mostly those of the Statist and Clerical soul). Keep in mind that we have circa 200 religions ( and maybe even more soon), adding religious heads to each is quite the task. It will be done eventually though.

>_<

:p

but yeah, I did see that the jewish retinues are religion-determined, so it makes sense they change the field scripting
(still, that does mean some slight rewrite to that file - then again, I was planning to make tweaks to that file anyway, so that's all in proper cadence  )

still, as I posted before, it's definitely something SELIN could use
like... I don't know, a "Crusader Company" retinue for all Christians? :p
then again, try not to overdo the number (having 1 for each of the 200+ religions is a bit overkill), as it'll be a bit hard balancing their specifications each time I try to rebalance retinues vs levies in general

btw, does anyone have a guess what this means?
- Triggers are now automatically sorted by their computation complexity so modders won't have to think about it

I guess it either takes broader trigger options which aren't CPU/memory intensive first so it doesn't have to look for other ones if they come out negative or the other way around... Why I don't know. :D

So you can just slap in the trigger options without having to put it in a hierarchy to make sure it is as efficient as can be.

Edit:

As for those "Crusader Companies" I guess you can put it in for most christian_group religions when they are in a crusade (holy war?) that they become available which have better troop to retinue cap ratios, which would only really work if afterwards they disband or raise back to their would-be-value.

Otherwise perhaps semi-functional religion_group retinues would be something.

Yeah, I guess the game now automatically sorts the triggers by computation difficulty. One of the ways to avoid stuttering was coding them in order (which required a lot of work), but apparently the game now does that by itself, so I guess there will be an overall increase of speed. LI went faster this morning when I was testing... so it's either that or the placebo effect :D

that might be a bit problematic, ie. having certain retinues only available during certain types of wars @_@
(which reminds me, I really need to make the initial investment of retinues a lot cheaper in light of their upkeep/reinforce cost @_@ )

still, at the very least, I think it's best if Martially-oriented religions get at least their own retinues in addition to/ in lieu of religious group retinues. "Spears of Mithra" pikemen/HI retinues with offensive/morale boosts for example, or "Hand of Tyr" HI/LI for the norse_war religion? :p

oooh.

that certainly helps considering how probably quite a number of integrated events aren't perfectly optimized :D

Makes sense; Phrygian caps feature as much in Mithraic imagery as the Tauroctony. I like the bronze one, so I believe we'll be using that one. Thank you!

There's no need for a smaller version.

Never understood why circling koi fish symbolized Mithraism.

I believe it's due to the whole dualistic nature of Zoroastrianism which is what Mithraism was originally based on. I suppose it's still Mithra vs. Ahriman.

Numahr actually proposed it to me (some 5 pages ago). So I guess that whatever you're doing now is product of that :D

I believe I have a document in my locker containing my draft and plan. Religious Heads.txt, I think, in the SELIN folder.

I see, I really had no clue about you and Numahr already starting this. I can start some preliminary work at that if there's any need.

I don't know if Numahr's read it yet (haven't heard much from him, still waiting on some notes on Central Asia - on that note, anyone else with input on the new map expansion, maybe you've got some ideas for starting provinces, the new areas are India and most of Central Asia, as well as the entire eastern coast of Africa down to Maputo, Mozambique, and ideas are helpful), but the only preliminary work I can think of would be creating the titles and maybe brainstorming of a way to put into effect the god-king heads. They should command a lot of respect but still be vulnerable to deposition. After all, that's basically been Lux's Roman history in its entirety is one big bloodfest. Since there are so few, however, a case-by-case basis could be used. For example, with the king of Saba, it should be tied with the Blood of Almaqah. This is not necessarily the case for all.

My office is being "re-structured", to say things politely, so indeed that makes me quite busy...

- Sorry DarkReborn, I kept on wanting to mention to you that indeed, some religions not having Heads is by design. Not all should have. True, with the new features, you may be "frustrated"... but then I say reform! Anyway, the best at this point would be to lookat FG's case-by-case proposed approach and take it from there

- FG, what's the next step on the Holy Orders? I sent you an email and basically I am waiting for your answer to move forward...

Don't worry, I was indeed planning something like FG's idea. I will start soon to code in the titles after I finish LI-fying SoA events (it's unfair if we give most of them just to the Christians, so I'm trying to "de-Christianize" them and make them more generic).

EDIT:
@FG/Numahr:
Also I'm going to be adapting the SoA Holy Order money lending/castle bulding/expelling events to all of LI's orders, so tell me if you're going to be resigning any holy orders.

Hmm. Well some are implemented from Shaytanic times that don't match up with our proper definition of which religions should get holy orders. We need to reassign them to the reformed equivalents.

Congrats on the SoA flavoring, and so the depth of Lux continues!

It'll be a matter of changing the required religion lines in the Holy Order events as long as we don't change the titles, so it's something that can be done.
Anyway, this is something I'll be doing on a long term... we have a lot of orders and I've to make separate decisions/modifiers/events for each.... so, yeah...

@FG/Numahr:
Any idea for a substitute of the Jews as bankers? It's obvious we can't use the Jews due to their alt-history in LI, but, Is there any other entity/ethnicity/group in LI we can use as a generic moneylenders?
