Just looked at the new map, DR. I. Utterly. Love it. I am a little curious as to what we're going to end up doing with the Himalayas, but we've got lots of Buddhism to go aroundGet ready India... the Hellens are coming back for you.
What new map? Why are there no pictures of it?!
Because it is not done
It's basically the Umbra Spherae map, trimmed down to Bengal and the Tarim Basin. Right now, DarkReborn still has a few more things to add to the map before we can start coding in new realms to put there. I'd like to get a picture on here for you guys, but... it's so big, it doesn't all fit in the window. You'll just have to wait and see![]()

*drools*
So, I could take the Sassanids and spread the glory of the Light to the heathens in India?
Me-likey!
It's not going to cause the scrunched-up-ugly-looking Europe that Umbra has, right? I absolutely loved playing in Asia in that mod but every time I looked at Europe it was just way too ugly.
I apologize if this question has been answered/I missed it in the first post .. the compatibility stated here is 1.11; is it absolutely necessary that I revert my current version to this version? What will happen if I try to run it with the 2.01 patch?

Nevermind! After the game did this for two days and three sessions in a row, today it apparantly decided us Avars are now oKay. Now it's just time to prepare for the inevitable Dacian invasion, I guess.
Having a small problem with my latest Lux Invicta run. Playing the Avars in Hungary, after a series of successful wars, everyone is at war with me. Sort of. No declarations, no signs on the intro or info screens, but when I try to interact in any way I get the 'You cannot xxxx with someone you are at war with'. This appears to be worldwide. All armies (that I can see) show as hostile, but they don't besiege or anything when crossing my territory.
Is this likely a bug, a feature, a result of everyone hating the Ahrimanics? Or?

I....
wait...
what?
I.... have no idea.
does it also happen in vanilla/other mods, or exclusive LI?I've also encountered that. Periodically, everyone in the world would be at war with each other. Including the Pirate Empire.

- I agree with the idea of limiting the asking of conversion to Proselytist religions. If someone asked one of the Jomsvikings to convert to, say, Perunism, they'd probably get their head cut off. But physical limitations on religious concepts (which as we all know are not always practiced by the faithful, no matter how widespread the religion is) have always bugged me because they're impractical. Is a Solar-Imperial physically incapable of asking a heathen to convert? No. Rather than flat-out deny the privilege to some, I think we could modify it a bit. We should definitely increase the opinion threshold, since right now it's too easy. I also think the Zealous trait should be a requirement. That way, no matter what religion somebody is, if it absorbs every part of their life, they would want to share that with others. Doesn't mean those others need to say yes, though.
I am re-drafting some religions' descriptions as discussed here. Now parts in bold below.
Here is Kharijite:
I think it would be good to reflect better the heresy--parent relationships in descriptions, as with this one.Kharijitism is a heretical Islamic madhab of populist Soul. It constituted itself in first Islamic war in the 7th Century by opposing both Sunnis and Shiites, and by assassinating Ali, whom they admired, because of his conciliatory attitude towards his enemy Muawiyah. Since then they have been rejecting, often violently, all forms of political leadership, citing the verse "No rule but God's." They denounce most forms of codified Islamic jurisprudence as a betrayal to God's message contained wholly in the Holy Koran, and consider it legitimate to kill a Caliph if his acts are sinful. The strength of its uncompromising revolutionary message based on Ali's founding stance keeps a strong appeal among those Shi'ite who regard their current Shi'te leaders and clergy as corrupted by their thrive for Kharijitism is a heretical Islamic madhab of populist Soul. Ane more important changes for the Luwian faith, which until now did not reflect the great legacy Shaytana gave to this religion in his timeline (it became the one imperial religion both in the west and in the East for a short time in the 8th century):
The Luwian faith is a Mainstream Archaic religion of Statist soul. The religious system is a legacy of the ancient Hittite civilization, who created a complex pantheon reflecting the mosaic of peoples present in Asia Minor, under the strong influences of Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. Many Gods co-exist with multiple identities, as a result of successive layers of syncretism, products of the Anatolian melting-pot. Although each God has a specific area of responsibility, they are collectively responsible to guide mankind on the path of morale and piety. The traditional Luwian faith was more recently reformed when the client-King of Isauria, the long-standing Hittite heartland, conquered Constantinoople with support from the Eastern legions and imposed himself as Emperor Leo III in 716. He introduced the cult of the Luwian Sun Goddess Arinniti as the new inperial state religion: he proclaimed Sol to be the consort of the Goddess, and the Emperor her consort in the flesh. The subsequent decades saw a short-lived global supremacy of the imperial Luwian faith. Leo III conquered Rome and sacrificed the then-Western Emperor to Arinniti, imposing the Luwian faith to the entire Roman empire through well-organized persecutions of the Christians. The Luwian supremacy culminated when his son and successor Leo Constantine conquered Jerusalem and desecrated the Christian holy sites. Since then, in spite of the numerous set backs, the faitfhul still trust their divine connection to Arinniti under the leadership of Leo III's heirs, semi-divinised as the flesh of Arinniti.
Speaking of issues with lag and using a lot of memory, one of the things we can do to cut back on our memory usage is deintegrate certain mods that don't serve as essential of a purpose. One mod in particular, as awesome as it is, would be the Koeppen Climate Conversion mod. Our map is simply too large. It wasn't compatible with Lux's slightly-edited map and yet I had to change over 200 modifiers just to match up with the actual Koppen climate map. If we add India and Africa, there are going to need to be new modifiers as well as a lot more painstaking editing. The way the mod works is the coder needs to hand-select the proper modifier for each province on the map (excluding ocean provinces and terrae incognitae) and then duplicate that for each season. If you're smart, you just do it once and copy-paste it three more times, but it's still a very tedious process and the mechanic would require a lot of extra memory for the new enlarged map. I think the best thing we can do is remove it.
Playing the current version of LI (with patches rolled back and whatnot), upon getting my second ruler, authority goes into a freefall. Despite it showing that it should be increasing when you mouse over the authority sum, it decreases in substantial chunks each month (about twenty to thirty each month) This is, understandably, breaking my games.
