I did but it was a bit boring, I was looking forward to some more features in it but I guess maybe it'll get them if we're nice and wait (and sacrifice a few thousand moders to the everlasting glory of the Creator) ;)

IDK exactly what we have in store for the Shaytana religion (that was futuregary's idea), but it will involve sacrifice of living beings yes or yes.

I have no clue on why that is happening, really, last time I was home (Tuesday), I applied my BLC over our BLCless Lux Invicta and everything seemed ok. Try and delete "portraits_easternslavic.gfx" and "portraits_mongols.gfx" in the interface folder and tell me what happens. I'll check google code tomorrow and see if I've missed something.

deleting easternslavic makes them work properly now, but, well obviously whatever changes you did are now lost
it's worse with deeleting mongols, since it reverts persians to arabs while only fixing uyghurs and huns
it's highly likely you messed up a NoofFrames index number somewhere. I'll see what I can do :laugh:

Whenever I win a battle I seem to get 150% warscore. What's up with that? It seems to be working normally for the AI's wars with each other (battles granting them 9, 15, 30 % etc).
currently, defeating the entirety of the enemy army (or better their army and their mercenaries) give 150% warscore MAX. so defeating a smaller army will give a smaller warscore gain. while this was intended to push the focus of wars less into sieging and more into battles, do you think I should give sieging territory a bigger role?

I didn't even touch those files :blink:
I mean, I was going to but since I discovered you can't change the DLC portraits config files (portraits_x.gfx) without messing things up, I left them unedited and forgot to delete them.... portraits_mongols.gfx shouldn't affect persiangfx portraits in any way... it just has entries for mongol portraits. I have to go to sleep soon because tomorrow we move to Shangai (I'm in Peking right now), but I'll be sure to check as soon as a get connected to the Chinese surveillance net.... I mean, internet, in the next hotel.

wait, I think it's because of other edits I made (ie. removing the "old" in some files without reading your SVN changelogs first :p )

also, Peking? unless you borrowed PastPatrick's time machine and move a few decades ago... :p
I'll try reverting them while removing the dlc portrait config files (since I also just noticed that ONLY portraits_med exist in LI v6g ) and see if it goes back to normal (ie. the flying hats)

Ah I was just checking that it was WAD and not some bug. I'm guessing this will occur less often as empires start to blob and armies get bigger. I can definitely tell it will be very nice for dealing with rebellions!

Hey! Peking is accepted by the RAE (Real Academia Española, the regulators of Spanish language)as pronunciation! So I'm in my right to use an archaic and misused version of the name if I want to!:angry:
:rofl:

Aaaaah... yup, I made the oldcumangfx because most of the cultures Shaytana made used BLCs cumangfx and the new cumangfx (Cracktoothgrin's) was causing strange faces... an abominable mix of vanilla and Steppe Faces features.

And I think that the warscore should be kept that way, opposed to what actual media shows, most middle ages wars were won in the field, not sieges of cities, that only was when the enemy was particularly stubborn (Byzantium).

I think it's quite fair right now, if you are a small count/duke and you lose all your armies and possibly mercenaries... You aren't going to be of much resistance anymore. xD

- Pretty sure rebellions (at least revolt risk ones) will be 100% if they no longer have an army if they do still have one they will go on their happy ride of killing you.

after playing a bit, I think it's slightly... less ideal than I hoped for (namely, wars can end in a single battle [which was the intent really, but in practice less than ideal ] ).
I'll probably tone it down a bit to 125% or 100%, but not less. I'll still make it the primary focus, but to a slightly lesser degree now (this next statement might give PastPatrick a heart attack, but I actually want the game to be not THAT hard :p )

on a side note, I've had some fun playing as Venice. Well more accurately, I somehow saw the venetian republic revoked into a principaility/duchy again, and they were defending against a ravennan sacred war (which is too ... common in-game now that I think about it. might need to think of this a bit). playing as them, I managed to capture the ravennan king, who I executed, and their vassal mercenary captain inherited, so I played as them. I soon found that those mithraic-catholic's expansion war CB is slightly too OP/easy to acquire (but that might have been intentional - I'll need to recheck), so I for fun declared war on three realms, then raised my 2k legion of doom, and proceeded to kick arse :rofl:

then I noticed the Princeps of Rome was somehow a theocracy- whether he was deposed or not I didn't notice (I also encountered a peasant revolt to the north in lombardy, but I wonder who they were fighting )

all in all, that was... quite an interesting 5-minute session. Lux Invicta forever indeed :rofl:

as for portraits, I have no idea what I'm doing, and I somehow made things worse (operating on a personal copy). so I'll just leave doing whatever with them to your hands, and I'll just copy whatever you do to the repository :p

Just encountered playing Sinai, apparently the third level of levy specialization upgrade requires a building that doesn't exist anymore. (Sinai needs all the troops it can get)
I'm assuming it's not intentional, but it limits how big you can get levies significantly.

yes, as I've posted time and again, buildings are not yet fully returned back in. in fact, I've only fully mapped out tech distribution a few days ago, and haven't had much time to work on it yet.
(if you want to know why working on overhauling the buildings is a tedious task, feel free to gaze at this beautiful artwork by Sir Kulinski )

as the name implies, this is an alpha, ie. a beta of a beta, so don't really expect everything to work as it should really be :3
(still, at least it's better than being an alpha only we can access :p )

slightly... off-topic, but is anyone in the council having virus problems?
bitdefender is showing this interesting stuff:
"The file ... \lux-invicta-interegnum\.svn\pristine\66\(randomhexcode).svn-base has been detected as infected. ... Virus Name: Adware.Generic.559937 "
:rofl:
gahdaehmit, get it off my nest :rofl:

as for portraits, I have no idea what I'm doing, and I somehow made things worse (operating on a personal copy). so I'll just leave doing whatever with them to your hands, and I'll just copy whatever you do to the repository :p

I have redone the portraits structure (through google code no less... I don't want to download the whole LI SVN trunk with this connection speed, it'll take forever). Also.... it might have to do something with the .mod file. You see, I think that unless you specify it to override certain files/folders (ie. override = "interface"), it is going to use LI's interface folder files instead, that's why I refrained for it being modular. try adding these lines below path = "mod/BLC" :
override = "interface"
override = "common"

Try it on a clean copy of the latest LI version and tell me.

About the viruses, I have no clue, but take to account that I'm uploading things from a Chinese point of access soo... be prepared, just in case.

Aaaaah... yup, I made the oldcumangfx because most of the cultures Shaytana made used BLCs cumangfx and the new cumangfx (Cracktoothgrin's) was causing strange faces... an abominable mix of vanilla and Steppe Faces features.

And I think that the warscore should be kept that way, opposed to what actual media shows, most middle ages wars were won in the field, not sieges of cities, that only was when the enemy was particularly stubborn (Byzantium).

I don't think anyone in Latin America considers the RAE to be the absolute authority on language. It's surprising how much a massive body of water can separate identities.

I have redone the portraits structure (through google code no less... I don't want to download the whole LI SVN trunk with this connection speed, it'll take forever). Also.... it might have to do something with the .mod file. You see, I think that unless you specify it to override certain files/folders (ie. override = "interface"), it is going to use LI's interface folder files instead, that's why I refrained for it being modular. try adding these lines below path = "mod/BLC" :
override = "interface"
override = "common"

Try it on a clean copy of the latest LI version and tell me.

About the viruses, I have no clue, but take to account that I'm uploading things from a Chinese point of access soo... be prepared, just in case.

Tried opening the files, they look like SVN versions of the files we have uploaded. Some are filled with jibberish (I'm guessing .tga and .dds files) and some are histories. I haven't flagged anything, though, and I run PeerBlock alongside Windows Defender. I doubt it's anything worrisome.

I did play your BLC stuff by copy pasting the proper files into their proper places, and I had the same issue as riknap. Also, the Cuman graphics look kind of... I clicked on Cumania, the ruler looked like a really really light-skinned Asian fellow with a blonde handlebar mustache. All he was missing was a cowboy hat. I was mortified. Is there any way to make the Cuman graphics look less... whitewashed? Other than that, though, it was nice to have the pretty portraits back :)

@pastpatrick,
random minor stuff, but I just noticed now that the localisation for creating ducal titles is not only green (despite being a negative number - yeah I know it's a color code :p ), but it saying "give us" instead of "cost us". I do recall requesting that to be changed some time ago, so it's possible that post-TOG changed some localisation strings? still, minor stuff :p

If a large part of the team doesn't like the steppe faces, or feel they're out of place, I can remove them easily. Sincerely, I don't know if that is how the (western) peoples of the Steppe really looked like... and apparently no one else knows, since they aren't really around anymore, they assimilated into the other Tartar peoples. Some people say they do but from what I can read/hear they're either biased or wrong. So I leave it up to the Senate and People of Lux Invicta:
- Shaytana's BLC interpretation (last 2 on the image)
uBvtH.png
- Crackdtoothgrin Steppe faces' interpretation
Uzlko.jpg
- Cyberxkhan cultures and portraits revamp
Mdy9v.jpg

I like the three of them for different things, and I'm known for being very indecisive, so I leave it up to you all!

personally, I say stick with the stuff Shaytana made for now (though cyberkhan's work might be applicable to certain cultures, I'm not sure which cultures in the LI-verse are the closest to being .... asianic. But on that note, they would be perfect for a hidden "sino-hellenic culture", which would merge perfectly with PastPatrick's Sinohellenic invasion mod. On this regard, I'd say why not add them as totally valid but hidden cultures for both base LI and LI's BLC. That way, activating Pastpatrick's SinoHellenic horde would be easily save-game compatible xD )
